   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianלְדָוִדof Davidמִזְמוֹרa psalmשִׁיר׃a song

   To the chief Musician, A Psalm or Song of David.

2. 2

   יָקוּםlet ariseאֱלֹהִיםGodיָפוּצוּlet be scatteredאוֹיְבָיוHis enemiesוְיָנוּסוּand let fleeמְשַׂנְאָיוthose who hate Himמִפָּנָיו׃before Him

   Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

3. 3

   כְּהִנְדֹּףas is driven awayעָשָׁןsmokeתִּנְדֹּףso drive them awayכְּהִמֵּסas meltsדּוֹנַגwaxמִפְּנֵי־אֵשׁbefore the fireיֹאבְדוּlet perishרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedמִפְּנֵיbeforeאֱלֹהִים׃God

   As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

4. 4

   וְצַדִּיקִיםbut the righteousיִשְׂמְחוּlet be gladיַעַלְצוּlet them exultלִפְנֵיbeforeאֱלֹהִיםGodוְיָשִׂישׂוּand let them rejoiceבְשִׂמְחָה׃in joy

   But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

   שִׁירוּsingלֵאלֹהִיםto Godזַמְּרוּsing praises toשְׁמוֹHis nameסֹלּוּcast up a highwayלָרֹכֵבfor Him who ridesבָּעֲרָבוֹתthrough the desertsבְּיָהּthe LORD isשְׁמוֹHis nameוְעִלְזוּand rejoiceלְפָנָיו׃before Him

   Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.

6. 6

   אֲבִיa father ofיְתוֹמִיםthe fatherlessוְדַיַּןand a judge ofאַלְמָנוֹתwidowsאֱלֹהִיםGodבִּמְעוֹןis in the habitation ofקׇדְשׁוֹ׃His holiness

   A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

   אֱלֹהִיםGodמוֹשִׁיבsetsיְחִידִיםthe solitaryבַּיְתָהin familiesמוֹצִיאHe brings outאֲסִירִיםthe prisonersבַּכּוֹשָׁרוֹתinto prosperityאַךְbutסוֹרְרִיםthe rebelliousשָׁכְנוּthey dwellצְחִיחָה׃in a parched land

   God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

8. 8

   אֱלֹהִיםGodבְּצֵאתְךָwhen You went forthלִפְנֵיbeforeעַמֶּךָYour peopleבְּצַעְדְּךָwhen You marchedבִישִׁימוֹןthrough the wildernessסֶלָה׃Selah

   O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

   אֶרֶץthe land ofרָעָשָׁהshookאַף־שָׁמַיִםthe heavens alsoנָטְפוּdroppedמִפְּנֵיbecause ofאֱלֹהִיםGodזֶהeven yonderסִינַיSinaiמִפְּנֵיbecause ofאֱלֹהִיםGodאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

   The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

10. 10

    גֶּשֶׁםa plentiful rainנְדָבוֹתof bountyתָּנִיףYou did sendאֱלֹהִיםGodנַחֲלָתְךָYour inheritanceוְנִלְאָהwhen it was wearyאַתָּהYouכוֹנַנְתָּהּ׃You confirmed it

    Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

11. 11

    חַיָּתְךָYour flockיָשְׁבוּ־בָהּdwelt thereinתָּכִין־בְּטוֹבָתְךָYou provide of Your goodnessלֶעָנִיfor the poorאֱלֹהִים׃O God

    Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.

12. 12

    אֲדֹנָיthe Lordיִתֶּן־אֹמֶרgives the wordהַמְבַשְּׂרוֹתthe women who publish it areצָבָאa hostרָב׃great

    The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

13. 13

    מַלְכֵיkings ofצְבָאוֹתarmiesיִדֹּדוּןthey fleeיִדֹּדוּןthey fleeוּנְוַת־בַּיִתand she who tarries at homeתְּחַלֵּקdividesשָׁלָל׃the spoil

    Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.

14. 14

    אִם־תִּשְׁכְּבוּןthough you have lainבֵּיןamongשְׁפַתָּיִםthe sheepfoldsכַּנְפֵיthe wings ofיוֹנָהa doveנֶחְפָּהare coveredבַכֶּסֶףwith silverוְאֶבְרוֹתֶיהָand her pinionsבִּירַקְרַקwith yellowחָרוּץ׃gold

    Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.

15. 15

    בְּפָרֵשׂwhen scatteredשַׁדַּיthe Almightyמְלָכִיםkingsבָּהּthereinתַּשְׁלֵגit snowedבְּצַלְמוֹן׃in Zalmon

    When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.

16. 16

    הַר־אֱלֹהִיםa mountain of Godהַר־בָּשָׁןmount Bashanהַרa mountain ofגַּבְנֻנִּיםpeaksהַר־בָּשָׁן׃mount Bashan

    The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.

17. 17

    לָמָּהwhyתְּרַצְּדוּןdo you look with envyהָרִיםO mountains ofגַּבְנֻנִּיםpeaksהָהָרthe mountain whichחָמַדdesiredאֱלֹהִיםGodלְשִׁבְתּוֹfor His dwellingאַף־יְהֹוָהyea the LORDיִשְׁכֹּןwill dwell thereלָנֶצַח׃forever

    Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.

18. 18

    רֶכֶבthe chariots ofאֱלֹהִיםGodרִבֹּתַיִםare twenty thousandאַלְפֵיthousands uponשִׁנְאָןthousandsאֲדֹנָיthe Lord isבָֿםamong themסִינַיSinaiבַּקֹּדֶשׁ׃in the sanctuary

    The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

19. 19

    עָלִיתָYou have ascendedלַמָּרוֹםon highשָׁבִיתָYou have led captiveשֶּׁבִיcaptivityלָקַחְתָּYou have receivedמַתָּנוֹתgiftsבָּאָדָםamong menוְאַףyea evenסוֹרְרִיםthe rebelliousלִשְׁכֹּןthat may dwell thereיָהּthe LORDאֱלֹהִים׃God

    Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.

20. 20

    בָּרוּךְblessed beאֲדֹנָיthe Lordיוֹםdayיוֹםdayיַעֲמׇס־לָנוּwho bears our burdenהָאֵלthe Godיְשׁוּעָתֵנוּour salvationסֶלָה׃Selah

    Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

21. 21

    הָאֵלGod isלָנוּto usאֵלa Godלְמוֹשָׁעוֹתof deliverancesוְלֵיהֹוִהand to GODאֲדֹנָיthe Lordלַמָּוֶתfrom deathתֹּצָאוֹת׃belong the issues

    He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.

22. 22

    אַךְ־אֱלֹהִיםbut Godיִמְחַץshall woundרֹאשׁthe head ofאֹיְבָיוHis enemiesקׇדְקֹדthe scalp ofשֵׂעָרhairמִתְהַלֵּךְhim who goes onבַּאֲשָׁמָיו׃in his guilt

    But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.

23. 23

    אָמַרsaidאֲדֹנָיthe Lordמִבָּשָׁןfrom BashanאָשִׁיבI will bring backאָשִׁיבI will bring backמִמְּצֻלוֹתfrom the depths ofיָם׃the sea

    The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:

24. 24

    לְמַעַןin order thatתִּמְחַץyou may batheרַגְלְךָyour footבְּדָםin bloodלְשׁוֹןthe tongue ofכְּלָבֶיךָyour dogsמֵאֹיְבִיםfrom the enemiesמִנֵּהוּ׃has its portion

    That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.

25. 25

    רָאוּthey have seenהֲלִיכוֹתֶיךָYour goingsאֱלֹהִיםO Godהֲלִיכוֹתthe goings ofאֵלִיmy Godמַלְכִּיmy Kingבַקֹּדֶשׁ׃in the sanctuary

    They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

26. 26

    קִדְּמוּwent beforeשָׁרִיםthe singersאַחַרafterנֹגְנִיםthe players on instrumentsבְּתוֹךְamongעֲלָמוֹתmaidensתּוֹפֵפוֹת׃playing timbrels

    The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.

27. 27

    בְּמַקְהֵלוֹתin the congregationsבָּרְכוּblessאֱלֹהִיםGodאֲדֹנָיthe Lordמִמְּקוֹרfrom the fountain ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

    Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.

28. 28

    שָׁםthereבִּנְיָמִןBenjaminצָעִירthe leastרֹדֵםruling themשָׂרֵיcaptains ofיְהוּדָהJudahרִגְמָתָםtheir companyשָׂרֵיcaptains ofזְבֻלוּןZebulunשָׂרֵיcaptains ofנַפְתָּלִי׃Naphtali

    There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.

29. 29

    צִוָּהhas commandedאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godעֻזֶּךָyour strengthעוּזָּהbe strongאֱלֹהִיםGodזוּwhoפָּעַלְתָּYou have wroughtלָּנוּ׃for us

    Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

30. 30

    מֵהֵיכָלֶךָbecause of Your templeעַל־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםupon Jerusalemלְךָto Youיוֹבִילוּshall bringמְלָכִיםkingsשָׁי׃gifts

    Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.

31. 31

    גְּעַרrebukeחַיַּתthe beast ofקָנֶהthe reedsעֲדַתthe herd ofאַבִּירִיםbullsבְּעֶגְלֵיwith the calves ofעַמִּיםthe peoplesמִתְרַפֵּסtramplingבְּרַצֵּי־כָסֶףon pieces of silverבִּזַּרHe has scatteredעַמִּיםthe peoplesקְרָבוֹתin warיֶחְפָּצוּ׃who delight

    Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.

32. 32

    יֶאֱתָיוּshall comeחַשְׁמַנִּיםnoblesמִנִּיout ofמִצְרָיִםEgyptכּוּשׁEthiopiaתָּרִיץshall hasten to stretch outיָדָיוher handsלֵאלֹהִים׃to God

    Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.

33. 33

    מַמְלְכוֹתO kingdoms ofהָאָרֶץthe earthשִׁירוּsingלֵאלֹהִיםto Godזַמְּרוּsing praises toאֲדֹנָיthe Lordסֶלָה׃Selah

    Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah:

34. 34

    לָרֹכֵבto Him who ridesבִּשְׁמֵיupon the heavens ofשְׁמֵי־קֶדֶםthe heavens of oldהֵןbeholdיִתֵּןHe sends outבְּקוֹלוֹwith His voiceקוֹלthe voice ofעֹז׃of might

    To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.

35. 35

    תְּנוּascribeעֹזstrengthלֵאלֹהִיםto Godעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלover Israel isגַּאֲוָתוֹHis majestyוְעֻזּוֹand His strength isבַּשְּׁחָקִים׃in the clouds

    Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.

36. 36

    נוֹרָאterrible isאֱלֹהִיםGodמִמִּקְדָּשֶׁיךָout of Your holy placesאֵלthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelהוּאHe it is whoנֹתֵןgivesעֹזstrengthוְתַעֲצֻמוֹתand mightלָעָםto His peopleבָּרוּךְblessed beאֱלֹהִים׃God

    O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.
