   To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

2. 2

   שְׁמַע־אֱלֹהִיםshe/MA-e/lo/HIMhear O Godקוֹלִיko/LImy voiceבְשִׂיחִיve/si/CHIin my complaintמִפַּחַדmip/PA/chadfrom dread ofאוֹיֵבo/YEVthe enemyתִּצֹּרtits/TSORpreserveחַיָּי׃chay/YAYmy life

   Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

   תַּסְתִּירֵנִיtas/ti/RE/nihide meמִסּוֹדmis/SODfrom the secret counsel ofמְרֵעִיםme/re/IMevildoersמֵרִגְשַׁתme/rig/SHATfrom the tumult ofפֹּעֲלֵיPO/a/lethe workers ofאָוֶן׃A/veniniquity

   Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשָׁנְנוּsha/ne/NUhave whettedכַחֶרֶבkha/CHE/revlike a swordלְשׁוֹנָםle/sho/NAMtheir tongueדָּרְכוּda/re/KHUthey bendחִצָּםchits/TSAMtheir arrowsדָּבָרda/VARa wordמָר׃marbitter

   Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

   לִירֹתli/ROTto shootבַּמִּסְתָּרִיםbam/mis/ta/RIMin secretתָּםtamthe blamelessפִּתְאֹםpit/OMsuddenlyיֹרֻהוּyo/RU/huthey shoot himוְלֹאve/LOand notיִירָאוּ׃yi/RA/udo they fear

   That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

   יְחַזְּקוּ־לָמוֹye/chaz/ze/KU-LA/mothey strengthen for themselvesדָּבָרda/VARa matterרָעraevilיְסַפְּרוּye/sap/pe/RUthey talk ofלִטְמוֹןlit/MONlayingמוֹקְשִׁיםmok/SHIMsnaresאָמְרוּa/me/RUthey saidמִיmiwhoיִרְאֶה־לָּמוֹ׃yir/E-LA/mowill see them

   They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

   יַחְפְּשׂוּ־עוֹלֹתYACH/pe/su-o/LOTthey devise injusticesתַּמְנוּTAM/nuwe have completedחֵפֶשׂCHE/fesa planמְחֻפָּשׂme/chup/PASwell devisedוְקֶרֶבve/KE/revand the inward part ofאִישׁisha manוְלֵבve/LEVand the heart isעָמֹק׃a/MOKdeep

   They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

8. 8

   וַיֹּרֵםvay/yo/REMbut shoots at themאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodחֵץchetsan arrowפִּתְאוֹםpit/OMsuddenlyהָיוּha/YUwereמַכּוֹתָם׃mak/ko/TAMtheir wounds

   But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

   וַיַּכְשִׁילוּהוּvay/yakh/shi/LU/huand they make him stumbleעָלֵימוֹa/LE/moagainst themselvesלְשׁוֹנָםle/sho/NAMtheir own tongueיִתְנֹדְדוּyit/nod/DUshall shake their headsכׇּל־רֹאֵהkol-RO/eall who seeבָם׃vamin them

   So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

    וַיִּירְאוּvay/yi/re/Uand shall fearכׇּל־אָדָםkol-a/DAMall menוַיַּגִּידוּvay/yag/GI/duand shall declareפֹּעַלPO/althe work ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוּמַעֲשֵׂהוּu/ma/a/SE/huand His doingהִשְׂכִּילוּ׃his/KI/luthey consider

    And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

11. 11

    יִשְׂמַחyis/MACHshall be gladצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe righteousבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDוְחָסָהve/CHA/saand take refugeבוֹvoin Himוְיִתְהַלְלוּve/yit/hal/LUand shall gloryכׇּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב׃kol-yish/RE-levall the upright in heart

    The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
