   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianעַל־יְדוּתוּןupon Jeduthunמִזְמוֹרa psalmלְדָוִד׃of David

   To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David.

2. 2

   אַךְonlyאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםunto Godדּוּמִיָּהwaits in silenceנַפְשִׁיmy soulמִמֶּנּוּfrom Himיְשׁוּעָתִי׃is my salvation

   Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

   אַךְ־הוּאhe alone isצוּרִיmy rockוִישׁוּעָתִיand my salvationמִשְׂגַּבִּיmy fortressלֹא־אֶמּוֹטI shall not be movedרַבָּה׃greatly

   He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

   עַד־אָנָהhow longתְּהוֹתְתוּwill you assailעַל־אִישׁa manתְּרָצְּחוּyou shall be slainכֻלְּכֶםall of youכְּקִירlike a wallנָטוּיleaningגָּדֵרa fenceהַדְּחוּיָה׃tottering

   How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

   אַךְonlyמִשְּׂאֵתוֹfrom his majestyיָעֲצוּthey deviseלְהַדִּיחַto thrust him downיִרְצוּthey delight inכָזָבliesבְּפִיוwith their mouthיְבָרֵכוּthey blessוּבְקִרְבָּםbut inwardlyיְקַלְלוּ־סֶלָה׃they curse Selah

   They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

   אַךְonlyלֵאלֹהִיםfor Godדּוֹמִּיwait in silenceנַפְשִׁיmy soulכִּי־מִמֶּנּוּfor from Him isתִּקְוָתִי׃my expectation

   My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

7. 7

   אַךְ־הוּאhe alone isצוּרִיmy rockוִישׁוּעָתִיand my salvationמִשְׂגַּבִּיmy defenseלֹאnotאֶמּוֹט׃I am moved

   He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

8. 8

   עַל־אֱלֹהִיםin God isיִשְׁעִיmy salvationוּכְבוֹדִיand my gloryצוּר־עֻזִּיthe rock of my powerמַחְסִיmy refugeבֵּאלֹהִים׃in God

   In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

   בִּטְחוּ־בוֹtrust in Himבְכׇל־עֵתat all timesעָםyou peopleשִׁפְכוּ־לְפָנָיוpour out before Himלְבַבְכֶםyour heartאֱלֹהִיםGodמַחֲסֶה־לָּנוּis a refuge for usסֶלָה׃Selah

   Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

    אַךְsurelyהֶבֶלare mere breathבְּנֵי־אָדָםmen of low degreeכָּזָבare a lieבְּנֵי־אִישׁmen of high degreeבְּמֹאזְנַיִםin the balanceלַעֲלוֹתto be laidהֵמָּהtheyמֵהֶבֶלlighter than breathיָחַד׃altogether

    Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

    אַל־תִּבְטְחוּdo not trustבְעֹשֶׁקin oppressionוּבְגָזֵלand in robberyאַל־תֶּהְבָּלוּbecome not vainחַיִלrichesכִּי־יָנוּבif increaseאַל־תָּשִׁיתוּdo not setלֵב׃your heart

    Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

    אַחַתonceדִּבֶּרhas spokenאֱלֹהִיםGodשְׁתַּיִם־זוּtwice thisשָׁמָעְתִּיI have heardכִּיthatעֹזpower belongsלֵאלֹהִים׃to God

    God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

    וּלְךָ־אֲדֹנָיand to You O Lordחָסֶדbelongs mercyכִּי־אַתָּהfor Youתְשַׁלֵּםrenderלְאִישׁto every manכְּמַעֲשֵׂהוּ׃according to his work

    Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
