   לַמְנַצֵּחַlam/nats/TSE/achto the chief musicianאַל־תַּשְׁחֵתal-Tash/CHETAl-tashhethלְדָוִדle/Da/VIDof Davidמִכְתָּםmikh/TAMa miktamבִּשְׁלֹחַbish/LO/achwhen sentשָׁאוּלSha/ULSaulוַיִּשְׁמְרוּvay/yish/me/RUand they watchedאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseלַהֲמִיתוֹ׃la/ha/mi/TOto kill him

   To the chief Musician, Al-taschith, Michtam of David; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.

   הַצִּילֵנִיhats/tsi/LE/nideliver meמֵאֹיְבַיme/oy/VAYfrom my enemiesאֱלֹהָיe/lo/HAYO my Godמִמִּתְקוֹמְמַיmim/mit/kom/MAYfrom those who rise up against meתְּשַׂגְּבֵנִי׃te/sag/ge/VE/niset me on high

   Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.

   הַצִּילֵנִיhats/tsi/LE/nideliver meמִפֹּעֲלֵיmip/PO/a/lefrom the workers ofאָוֶןA/veniniquityוּמֵאַנְשֵׁיu/me/an/SHEand from the men ofדָמִיםda/MIMbloodהוֹשִׁיעֵנִי׃ho/shi/E/nisave me

   Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

   כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאָרְבוּa/re/VUthey lie in waitלְנַפְשִׁיle/naf/SHIfor my lifeיָגוּרוּya/GU/rugatherעָלַיa/LAYagainst meעַזִּיםaz/ZIMthe strongלֹא־פִשְׁעִיlo-fish/Inot for my transgressionוְלֹא־חַטָּאתִיve/LO-chat/ta/TInor for my sinיְהֹוָה׃AdonaiO LORD

   For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.

   בְּלִי־עָוֺןbe/LI-a/VONwithout iniquityיְרֻצוּןye/ru/TSUNthey runוְיִכּוֹנָנוּve/yik/ko/NA/nuand prepare themselvesעוּרָהU/raawakeלִקְרָאתִיlik/ra/TIto meet meוּרְאֵה׃u/re/Eand behold

   They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.

   וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand Youיְהֹוָה־אֱלֹהִיםAdonai-e/lo/HIMO LORD Godצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהָקִיצָהha/KI/tsaawakeלִפְקֹדlif/KODto punishכׇּל־הַגּוֹיִםkol-hag/go/YIMall the nationsאַל־תָּחֹןal-ta/CHONbe not gracious toכׇּל־בֹּגְדֵיkol-BOG/deany treacherous ofאָוֶןA/veniniquityסֶלָה׃SE/laSelah

   Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.

   יָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey returnלָעֶרֶבla/E/revat eveningיֶהֱמוּye/he/MUthey growlכַכָּלֶבkhak/KA/levlike a dogוִיסוֹבְבוּvi/SOV/vuand go aroundעִיר׃irthe city

   They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיַבִּיעוּןyab/bi/UNthey belch outבְּפִיהֶםbe/fi/HEMwith their mouthחֲרָבוֹתcha/ra/VOTswords areבְּשִׂפְתוֹתֵיהֶםbe/sif/to/te/HEMin their lipsכִּי־מִיki-mifor whoשֹׁמֵעַ׃sho/ME/ahears

   Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?

9. 9

   וְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut YouיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDתִּשְׂחַק־לָמוֹtis/CHAK-LA/moshall laugh at themתִּלְעַגtil/AGYou mockלְכׇל־גּוֹיִם׃le/KHOL-go/YIMall the nations

   But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

10. 10

    עֻזּוֹuz/ZOhis strengthאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khaupon Youאֶשְׁמֹרָהesh/MO/rawill I waitכִּי־אֱלֹהִיםki-e/lo/HIMbecause Godמִשְׂגַּבִּי׃mis/gab/BIis my fortress

    Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.

11. 11

    אֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God of(חסדו)chasadav[חַסְדִּי]chas/DImy kindnessיְקַדְּמֵנִיye/kad/de/ME/niwill meet meאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיַרְאֵנִיyar/E/niwill let me lookבְשֹׁרְרָי׃ve/shor/RAYupon my enemies

    The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

12. 12

    אַל־תַּהַרְגֵםal-ta/har/GEMdo not kill themפֶּן־יִשְׁכְּחוּpen-yish/ke/CHUlest they forgetעַמִּיam/MImy peopleהֲנִיעֵמוֹha/ni/E/momake them wanderבְחֵילְךָve/che/le/KHAby Your powerוְהוֹרִידֵמוֹve/ho/ri/DE/moand bring them downמָגִנֵּנוּma/gin/NE/nuour shieldאֲדֹנָי׃a/do/NAYO Lord

    Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

13. 13

    חַטַּאת־פִּימוֹchat/TAT-PI/mofor the sin of their mouthדְּבַר־שְׂפָתֵימוֹde/VAR-se/fa/TE/mothe words of their lipsוְיִלָּכְדוּve/yil/la/khe/DUand let them be caughtבִגְאוֹנָםvig/o/NAMin their prideוּמֵאָלָהu/me/a/LAand for the curseוּמִכַּחַשׁu/mik/KA/chashand the lieיְסַפֵּרוּ׃ye/sap/PE/ruthey utter

    For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.

    כַּלֵּהkal/LEconsumeבְחֵמָהve/che/MAin wrathכַּלֵּהkal/LEconsumeוְאֵינֵמוֹve/e/NE/mothat they may be no moreוְיֵדְעוּve/yed/Uand let them knowכִּי־אֱלֹהִיםki-e/lo/HIMthat Godמֹשֵׁלmo/SHELrulesבְּיַעֲקֹבbe/Ya/a/KOVin Jacobלְאַפְסֵיle/af/SEto the ends ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthסֶלָה׃SE/laSelah

    Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

15. 15

    וְיָשֻׁבוּve/ya/SHU/vuand let them returnלָעֶרֶבla/E/revat eveningיֶהֱמוּye/he/MUlet them growlכַכָּלֶבkhak/KA/levlike a dogוִיסוֹבְבוּvi/SOV/vuand go aroundעִיר׃irthe city

    And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

16. 16

    הֵמָּהHEM/malet them[יְנִיעוּן]ye/ni/UNwander up and downלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLfor foodאִם־לֹאim-loif notיִשְׂבְּעוּyis/be/Uthey are satisfiedוַיָּלִינוּ׃vay/ya/LI/nuthen they will stay all night

    Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.

17. 17

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIbut Iאָשִׁירa/SHIRI will singעֻזֶּךָuz/ZE/khaof Your powerוַאֲרַנֵּןva/a/ran/NENand I will sing aloudלַבֹּקֶרlab/BO/kerin the morningחַסְדֶּךָchas/DE/khaYour kindnessכִּי־הָיִיתָki-ha/YI/tafor You have beenמִשְׂגָּבmis/GAVa fortressלִיlifor meוּמָנוֹסu/ma/NOSand refugeבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofצַר־לִי׃tsar-limy distress

    But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

18. 18

    עֻזִּיuz/ZIO my strengthאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youאֲזַמֵּרָהa/zam/ME/raI will sing praisesכִּי־אֱלֹהִיםki-e/lo/HIMbecause Godמִשְׂגַּבִּיmis/gab/BIis my fortressאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofחַסְדִּי׃chas/DImy kindness

    Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.
