   To the chief Musician, Al-taschith, Michtam of David.

   הַאֻמְנָםha/um/NAMdo you indeedאֵלֶםE/lemin silenceצֶדֶקTSE/dekrighteousnessתְּדַבֵּרוּןte/dab/be/RUNspeakמֵישָׁרִיםme/sha/RIMuprightlyתִּשְׁפְּטוּtish/pe/TUdo you judgeבְּנֵיbe/NEO sons ofאָדָם׃a/DAMman

   Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

   אַף־בְּלֵבaf-be/LEVeven in heartעוֹלֹתo/LOTunrighteousnessתִּפְעָלוּןtif/a/LUNyou workבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the earthחֲמַסcha/MASthe violence ofיְדֵיכֶםye/de/KHEMyour handsתְּפַלֵּסוּן׃te/fal/le/SUNyou weigh out

   Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

   זֹרוּZO/ruare estrangedרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedמֵרָחֶםme/RA/chemfrom the wombתָּעוּta/Uthey go astrayמִבֶּטֶןmib/BE/tenfrom birthדֹּבְרֵיdov/REspeakingכָזָב׃kha/ZAVlies

   The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

   חֲמַת־לָמוֹcha/MAT-LA/motheir venom isכִּדְמוּתkid/MUTlike the likeness ofחֲמַת־נָחָשׁcha/MAT-na/CHASHthe venom of a serpentכְּמוֹ־פֶתֶןke/MO-FE/tenlike a cobraחֵרֵשׁche/RESHdeafיַאְטֵםya/TEMthat stopsאׇזְנוֹ׃oz/NOits ear

   Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־יִשְׁמַעlo-yish/MAdoes not listenלְקוֹלle/KOLthe voice ofמְלַחֲשִׁיםme/la/cha/SHIMcharmersחוֹבֵרcho/VERof the enchanterחֲבָרִיםcha/va/RIMbinding spellsמְחֻכָּם׃me/chuk/KAMskillful

   Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

   אֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMO Godהֲרׇס־שִׁנֵּימוֹha/ROS-shin/NE/mobreak their teethבְּפִימוֹbe/FI/moin their mouthמַלְתְּעוֹתmal/te/OTthe fangs ofכְּפִירִיםke/fi/RIMyoung lionsנְתֹץne/TOTSbreak outיְהֹוָה׃AdonaiO LORD

   Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.

   יִמָּאֲסוּyim/ma/a/SUlet them vanishכְמוֹ־מַיִםkhe/MO-MA/yimlike waterיִתְהַלְּכוּ־לָמוֹyit/hal/le/KHU-LA/mothat runs offיִדְרֹךְyid/ROKHwhen he bendsחִצָּוchits/TSAVhis arrowsכְּמוֹke/MOlet them be as ifיִתְמֹלָלוּ׃yit/mo/LA/lucut off

   Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

   כְּמוֹke/MOlikeשַׁבְּלוּלshab/be/LULthe snailתֶּמֶסTE/mesthat meltsיַהֲלֹךְya/ha/LOKHgoesנֵפֶלNE/felthe untimely birth ofאֵשֶׁתE/sheta womanבַּל־חָזוּbal-CHA/zuthat does not seeשָׁמֶשׁ׃SHA/meshthe sun

   As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

    בְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיָבִינוּya/VI/nucan feelסִּירֹתֵכֶםsi/ro/te/KHEMyour potsאָטָדa/TADthe thornכְּמוֹ־חַיke/MO-chaywhether greenכְּמוֹ־חָרוֹןke/MO-cha/RONor burningיִשְׂעָרֶנּוּ׃yis/a/REN/nuHe shall sweep them away

    Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

    יִשְׂמַחyis/MACHshall rejoiceצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe righteousכִּי־חָזָהki-cha/ZAwhen he seesנָקָםna/KAMvengeanceפְּעָמָיוpe/a/MAYVhis feetיִרְחַץyir/CHATShe shall washבְּדַםbe/DAMin the blood ofהָרָשָׁע׃ha/ra/SHAthe wicked

    The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

    וְיֹאמַרve/yo/MARand will sayאָדָםa/DAMa manאַךְ־פְּרִיakh-pe/RIsurely there is fruitלַצַּדִּיקlats/tsad/DIKfor the righteousאַךְakhsurelyיֵשׁ־אֱלֹהִיםyesh-e/lo/HIMthere is a Godשֹׁפְטִיםshof/TIMwho judgesבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/A/retsin the earth

    So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
