   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianמַשְׂכִּילa maskilלְדָוִד׃of David

   To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David,

   בְּבוֹאwhen cameדּוֹאֵגDoegהָאֲדֹמִיthe Edomiteוַיַּגֵּדand he toldלְשָׁאוּלto Saulוַיֹּאמֶרand saidלוֹto himבָּאis comeדָוִדDavidאֶל־בֵּיתto the house ofאֲחִימֶלֶךְ׃Ahimelech

   when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech.

   מַה־תִּתְהַלֵּלwhy do you boast yourselfבְּרָעָהof evilהַגִּבּוֹרO mighty manחֶסֶדthe mercy ofאֵלGodכׇּל־הַיּוֹם׃endures all the day

   Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

   הַוּוֹתmischiefsתַּחְשֹׁבdevisesלְשׁוֹנֶךָyour tongueכְּתַעַרlike a razorמְלֻטָּשׁsharpenedעֹשֵׂהworkingרְמִיָּה׃deceitfully

   Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

   אָהַבְתָּyou loveרָּעevilמִטּוֹבmore than goodשֶׁקֶרlyingמִדַּבֵּרrather than speakingצֶדֶקrighteousnessסֶלָה׃Selah

   Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

6. 6

   אָהַבְתָּyou loveכׇל־דִּבְרֵי־בָלַעall devouring wordsלְשׁוֹןa tongue ofמִרְמָה׃deceit

   Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

7. 7

   גַּם־אֵלGod likewiseיִתׇּצְךָshall destroy youלָנֶצַחforeverיַחְתְּךָHe shall take you awayוְיִסָּחֲךָand pluck you outמֵאֹהֶלfrom your tentוְשֵׁרֶשְׁךָand root you outמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofחַיִּיםthe livingסֶלָה׃Selah

   God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

8. 8

   וְיִרְאוּand shall seeצַדִּיקִיםthe righteousוְיִירָאוּand shall fearוְעָלָיוand at himיִשְׂחָקוּ׃they shall laugh

   The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

   הִנֵּהbeholdהַגֶּבֶרis the manלֹאnotיָשִׂיםwho madeאֱלֹהִיםGodמָעוּזּוֹhis strengthוַיִּבְטַחbut trustedבְּרֹבin the abundance ofעׇשְׁרוֹhis richesיָעֹזhe strengthened himselfבְּהַוָּתוֹ׃in his wickedness

   Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

10. 10

    וַאֲנִיand Iכְּזַיִתlike an olive treeרַעֲנָןgreenבְּבֵיתin the house ofאֱלֹהִיםGodבָּטַחְתִּיI trustבְחֶסֶד־אֱלֹהִיםin the mercy of Godעוֹלָםforeverוָעֶד׃and ever

    But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

11. 11

    אוֹדְךָI will praise YouלְעוֹלָםforeverכִּיbecauseעָשִׂיתָYou have done itוַאֲקַוֶּהand I will wait onשִׁמְךָYour nameכִי־טוֹבfor it is goodנֶגֶדbeforeחֲסִידֶיךָ׃Your faithful ones

    I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
