   To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David,

   בְּבוֹא־אֵלָיוbe/VO-e/LAYVwhen came to himנָתָןNa/TANNathanהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetכַּאֲשֶׁר־בָּאka/a/SHER-baafter he had gone inאֶל־בַּת־שָׁבַע׃el-Bat-SHA/vato Bath-sheba

   when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba.

   חׇנֵּנִיchon/NE/nibe gracious to meאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMO Godכְּחַסְדֶּךָke/chas/DE/khaaccording to Your kindnessכְּרֹבke/ROVaccording to the multitude ofרַחֲמֶיךָra/cha/ME/khaYour compassionמְחֵהme/CHEblot outפְשָׁעָי׃fe/sha/AYmy transgressions

   Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

   Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

   כִּי־פְשָׁעַיki-fe/sha/AYfor my transgressionsאֲנִיa/NIIאֵדָעe/DAknowוְחַטָּאתִיve/chat/ta/TIand my sinנֶגְדִּיneg/DIis before meתָמִיד׃ta/MIDcontinually

   For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

   לְךָle/KHAagainst Youלְבַדְּךָle/vad/de/KHAYou aloneחָטָאתִיcha/TA/tihave I sinnedוְהָרַעve/ha/RAand that which is evilבְּעֵינֶיךָbe/e/NE/khain Your sightעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tiI have doneלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתִּצְדַּקtits/DAKYou may be righteousבְּדׇבְרֶךָbe/dov/RE/khawhen You speakתִּזְכֶּהtiz/KEand be clearבְשׇׁפְטֶךָ׃ve/shof/te/KHAwhen You judge

   Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

   הֵן־בְּעָווֹןhen-be/a/VONbehold in iniquityחוֹלָלְתִּיcho/LAL/tiI was brought forthוּבְחֵטְאu/ve/CHETand in sinיֶחֱמַתְנִיye/che/MAT/niconceived meאִמִּי׃im/MImy mother

   Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

   הֵן־אֱמֶתhen-e/METbehold truthחָפַצְתָּcha/FATS/taYou delight inבַטֻּחוֹתvat/tu/CHOTin the inward partsוּבְסָתֻםu/ve/sa/TUMand in the hidden partחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomתוֹדִיעֵנִי׃to/di/E/niYou make me know

   Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

   תְּחַטְּאֵנִיte/chat/te/E/nipurge meבְאֵזוֹבve/e/ZOVwith hyssopוְאֶטְהָרve/et/HARand I shall be cleanתְּכַבְּסֵנִיte/khab/be/SE/niwash meוּמִשֶּׁלֶגu/mish/SHE/legand than snowאַלְבִּין׃al/BINI shall be whiter

   Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

    תַּשְׁמִיעֵנִיtash/mi/e/NImake me to hearשָׂשׂוֹןsa/SONjoyוְשִׂמְחָהve/sim/CHAand gladnessתָּגֵלְנָהta/GEL/nalet rejoiceעֲצָמוֹתa/tsa/MOTthe bonesדִּכִּיתָ׃dik/KI/tawhich You have broken

    Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

11. 11

    הַסְתֵּרhas/TERhideפָּנֶיךָpa/NE/khaYour faceמֵחֲטָאָיme/cha/ta/AYfrom my sinsוְכׇל־עֲוֺנֹתַיve/KHOL-a/vo/no/TAYand all my iniquitiesמְחֵה׃me/CHEblot out

    Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

    לֵבleva heartטָהוֹרta/HORcleanבְּרָא־לִיbe/RA-licreate in meאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMO Godוְרוּחַve/RU/achand a spiritנָכוֹןna/KHONsteadfastחַדֵּשׁchad/DESHrenewבְּקִרְבִּי׃be/kir/BIwithin me

    Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

    אַל־תַּשְׁלִיכֵנִיal-tash/li/KHE/nido not cast me awayמִלְּפָנֶיךָmil/le/fa/NE/khafrom Your presenceוְרוּחַve/RU/achand the spirit ofקׇדְשְׁךָkod/she/KHAYour holinessאַל־תִּקַּחal-tik/KACHtake notמִמֶּנִּי׃mim/MEN/nifrom me

    Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

14. 14

    הָשִׁיבָהha/SHI/varestoreלִּיlito meשְׂשׂוֹןse/SONthe joy ofיִשְׁעֶךָyish/E/khaYour salvationוְרוּחַve/RU/achand with a spiritנְדִיבָהne/di/VAwillingתִסְמְכֵנִי׃tis/me/KHE/niuphold me

    Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

15. 15

    אֲלַמְּדָהa/lam/me/DAthen I will teachפֹשְׁעִיםfosh/IMtransgressorsדְּרָכֶיךָde/ra/KHE/khaYour waysוְחַטָּאִיםve/chat/ta/IMand sinnersאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youיָשׁוּבוּ׃ya/SHU/vushall return

    Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

    הַצִּילֵנִיhats/tsi/LE/nideliver meמִדָּמִיםmid/da/MIMfrom bloodguiltאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMO Godאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofתְשׁוּעָתִיte/shu/a/TImy salvationתְּרַנֵּןte/ran/NENshall sing aloud ofלְשׁוֹנִיle/sho/NImy tongueצִדְקָתֶךָ׃tsid/ka/TE/khaYour righteousness

    Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

17. 17

    אֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYO Lordשְׂפָתַיse/fa/TAYmy lipsתִּפְתָּחtif/TACHopenוּפִיu/FIand my mouthיַגִּידyag/GIDshall declareתְּהִלָּתֶךָ׃te/hil/la/TE/khaYour praise

    O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforלֹא־תַחְפֹּץlo-tach/POTSYou desire notזֶבַחZE/vachsacrificeוְאֶתֵּנָהve/et/TE/naor I would give itעוֹלָהo/LAburnt offeringלֹאlonotתִרְצֶה׃tir/TSEdo You delight in

    For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

19. 19

    זִבְחֵיziv/CHEthe sacrifices ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodרוּחַRU/achare a spiritנִשְׁבָּרָהnish/ba/RAbrokenלֵב־נִשְׁבָּרlev-nish/BARa broken heartוְנִדְכֶּהve/nid/KEand contriteאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMO Godלֹאlonotתִבְזֶה׃tiv/ZEwill You despise

    The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

20. 20

    הֵיטִיבָהhe/TI/vado goodבִרְצוֹנְךָvir/tson/KHAin Your favorאֶת־צִיּוֹןet-Tsiy/YONZionתִּבְנֶהtiv/NEbuildחוֹמוֹתcho/MOTthe walls ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.

21. 21

    אָזazthenתַּחְפֹּץtach/POTSshall You be pleased withזִבְחֵי־צֶדֶקziv/CHE-TSE/deksacrifices of righteousnessעוֹלָהo/LAburnt offeringוְכָלִילve/kha/LILand whole burnt offeringאָזazthenיַעֲלוּya/a/LUthey will offerעַל־מִזְבַּחֲךָal-miz/ba/cha/KHAupon Your altarפָרִים׃fa/RIMbulls

    Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
