1. 1

   מִזְמוֹרa psalmלְאָסָףof Asaphאֵלthe Mighty OneאֱלֹהִיםGodיְהֹוָהthe LORDדִּבֶּרspokeוַיִּקְרָא־אָרֶץand he called the earthמִמִּזְרַח־שֶׁמֶשׁfrom the rising of the sunעַד־מְבֹאוֹ׃to its going down

   A Psalm of Asaph. The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

2. 2

   מִצִּיּוֹןout of Zionמִכְלַל־יֹפִיthe perfection of beautyאֱלֹהִיםGodהוֹפִיעַ׃has shone forth

   Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

3. 3

   יָבֹאcomesאֱלֹהֵינוּour Godוְאַל־יֶחֱרַשׁand does not keep silenceאֵשׁ־לְפָנָיוa fire before Himתֹּאכֵלdevoursוּסְבִיבָיוand round about Himנִשְׂעֲרָהit is tempestuousמְאֹד׃very

   Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

   יִקְרָאHe callsאֶל־הַשָּׁמַיִםto the heavensמֵעָלaboveוְאֶל־הָאָרֶץand the earthלָדִיןthat He may judgeעַמּוֹ׃His people

   He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

   אִסְפוּ־לִיgather to meחֲסִידָיMy faithful onesכֹּרְתֵיthose who have madeבְרִיתִיMy covenantעֲלֵי־זָבַח׃by sacrifice

   Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

6. 6

   וַיַּגִּידוּand declareשָׁמַיִםthe heavensצִדְקוֹHis righteousnessכִּי־אֱלֹהִיםbecause Godשֹׁפֵטis judgeהוּאHimselfסֶלָה׃Selah

   And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

7. 7

   שִׁמְעָהhear OעַמִּיMy peopleוַאֲדַבֵּרָהand let me speakיִשְׂרָאֵלO Israelוְאָעִידָהand I will testifyבָּךְagainst youאֱלֹהִיםGodאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godאָנֹכִי׃I am

   Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

8. 8

   לֹאnotעַל־זְבָחֶיךָupon your sacrificesאוֹכִיחֶךָdo I reprove youוְעוֹלֹתֶיךָand your burnt offeringsלְנֶגְדִּיare before Meתָמִיד׃continually

   I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

9. 9

   לֹא־אֶקַּחI will take noמִבֵּיתְךָfrom your houseפָרbullockמִמִּכְלְאֹתֶיךָfrom your foldsעַתּוּדִים׃he goats

   I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

10. 10

    כִּי־לִיfor Mine isכׇל־חַיְתוֹ־יָעַרevery beast of the forestבְּהֵמוֹתthe cattleבְּהַרְרֵי־אָלֶף׃upon a thousand hills

    For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

11. 11

    יָדַעְתִּיI knowכׇּל־עוֹףall the birds ofהָרִיםthe mountainsוְזִיזand the wild beasts ofשָׂדַיthe fieldעִמָּדִי׃are Mine

    I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

12. 12

    אִם־אֶרְעַבif I were hungryלֹא־אֹמַרI would not tellלָךְto youכִּי־לִיfor Mine isתֵבֵלthe worldוּמְלֹאָהּ׃and all its fullness

    If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

13. 13

    הַאוֹכַלdo I eatבְּשַׂרthe flesh ofאַבִּירִיםbullsוְדַםand blood ofעַתּוּדִיםgoatsאֶשְׁתֶּה׃or do I drink

    Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

14. 14

    זְבַחofferלֵאלֹהִיםto Godתּוֹדָהa thank offeringוְשַׁלֵּםand payלְעֶלְיוֹןto the Most Highנְדָרֶיךָ׃your vows

    Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

15. 15

    וּקְרָאֵנִיand call out to meבְּיוֹםin the day ofצָרָהafflictionאֲחַלֶּצְךָI will deliver youוּתְכַבְּדֵנִי׃and you shall glorify Me

    And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

16. 16

    וְלָרָשָׁעbut to the wickedאָמַרsaysאֱלֹהִיםGodמַה־לְּךָwhat have youלְסַפֵּרto tellחֻקָּיMy statutesוַתִּשָּׂאor that you take upבְרִיתִיMy covenantעֲלֵי־פִיךָ׃in your mouth

    But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

17. 17

    וְאַתָּהand youשָׂנֵאתָyou hateמוּסָרdisciplineוַתַּשְׁלֵךְand you castדְּבָרַיMy wordsאַחֲרֶיךָ׃after you

    Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

18. 18

    אִם־רָאִיתָif you sawגַנָּבa thiefוַתִּרֶץthen you consentedעִמּוֹwith himוְעִםand withמְנָאֲפִיםadulterersחֶלְקֶךָ׃is your portion

    When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

19. 19

    פִּיךָyour mouthשָׁלַחְתָּyou give free reinבְרָעָהto evilוּלְשׁוֹנְךָand your tongueתַּצְמִידframesמִרְמָה׃deceit

    Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

20. 20

    תֵּשֵׁבyou sitבְּאָחִיךָagainst your brotherתְדַבֵּרyou speakבְּבֶן־אִמְּךָagainst your own mother's sonתִּתֶּן־דֹּפִי׃you utter slander

    Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

21. 21

    אֵלֶּהtheseעָשִׂיתָyou have doneוְהֶחֱרַשְׁתִּיand I kept silentדִּמִּיתָyou thoughtהֱיוֹת־אֶהְיֶהthat I was altogetherכָמוֹךָas youאוֹכִיחֲךָI will reprove youוְאֶעֶרְכָהand set it in orderלְעֵינֶיךָ׃before your eyes

    These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

22. 22

    בִּינוּ־נָאconsider I prayזֹאתthisשֹׁכְחֵיthose who forgetאֱלוֹהַּGodפֶּן־אֶטְרֹףlest I tear you in piecesוְאֵיןand there is noמַצִּיל׃a deliverer

    Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

23. 23

    זֹבֵחַwhoever offersתּוֹדָהa thank offeringיְכַבְּדָנְנִיglorifies Meוְשָׂםand to him who ordersדֶּרֶךְhis wayאַרְאֶנּוּI will show himבְּיֵשַׁעthe salvation ofאֱלֹהִים׃God

    Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.
