   לַמְנַצֵּחַlam/nats/TSE/achto the chief musicianלִבְנֵי־קֹרַחliv/NE-KO/rachof the sons of Korahמִזְמוֹר׃miz/MORa psalm

   To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.

2. 2

   שִׁמְעוּ־זֹאתshim/U-zothear thisכׇּל־הָעַמִּיםkol-ha/am/MIMall you peoplesהַאֲזִינוּha/a/ZI/nugive earכׇּל־יֹשְׁבֵיkol-yosh/VEall inhabitants ofחָלֶד׃CHA/ledthe world

   Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:

   גַּם־בְּנֵיgam-be/NEboth sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmanגַּם־בְּנֵי־אִישׁgam-be/NE-ishalso sons of menיַחַדYA/chadtogetherעָשִׁירa/SHIRrichוְאֶבְיוֹן׃ve/ev/YONand poor

   Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

   פִּיpimy mouthיְדַבֵּרye/dab/BERspeaksחׇכְמוֹתchokh/MOTwisdomוְהָגוּתve/ha/GUTand the meditation ofלִבִּיlib/BImy heartתְבוּנוֹת׃te/vu/NOTunderstanding

   My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

   אַטֶּהat/TEI will inclineלְמָשָׁלle/ma/SHALto a parableאׇזְנִיoz/NImy earאֶפְתַּחef/TACHI will openבְּכִנּוֹרbe/khin/NORupon the lyreחִידָתִי׃chi/da/TImy riddle

   I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

   לָמָּהLAM/mawhyאִירָאi/RAshall I fearבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofרָעraevilעֲוֺןa/VONthe iniquity ofעֲקֵבַיa/ke/VAYmy supplantersיְסוּבֵּנִי׃ye/sub/BE/nisurrounds me

   Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

7. 7

   הַבֹּטְחִיםhab/bot/CHIMthose who trustעַל־חֵילָםal-che/LAMin their wealthוּבְרֹבu/ve/ROVand in the multitude ofעׇשְׁרָםosh/RAMtheir richesיִתְהַלָּלוּ׃yit/hal/LA/luthey boast themselves

   They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

   אָחacha brotherלֹא־פָדֹהlo-fa/DOnot redeemיִפְדֶּהyif/DEcan he redeemאִישׁisha manלֹא־יִתֵּןlo-yit/TENnor giveלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godכׇּפְרוֹ׃kof/ROhis ransom

   None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

9. 9

   וְיֵקַרve/ye/KARfor costly isפִּדְיוֹןpid/YONthe ransom ofנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMtheir soulוְחָדַלve/cha/DALand it ceasesלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

   (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

10. 10

    וִיחִי־עוֹדvi/CHI-odthat he should still liveלָנֶצַחla/NE/tsachforeverלֹאlonotיִרְאֶהyir/Eseeהַשָּׁחַת׃hash/SHA/chatthe pit

    That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

11. 11

    כִּיkiforיִרְאֶהyir/Ehe seesחֲכָמִיםcha/kha/MIMwise menיָמוּתוּya/MU/tushall dieיַחַדYA/chadtogetherכְּסִילke/SILthe foolוָבַעַרva/VA/arand the brutishיֹאבֵדוּyo/VE/dushall perishוְעָזְבוּve/a/ze/VUand leaveלַאֲחֵרִיםla/a/che/RIMto othersחֵילָם׃che/LAMtheir wealth

    For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

    קִרְבָּםkir/BAMtheir inward thought isבָּתֵּימוֹbat/TE/mothat their houses areלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverמִשְׁכְּנֹתָםmish/ke/no/TAMtheir dwelling placesלְדוֹרle/DORto generationוָדֹרva/DORand generationקָרְאוּka/re/Uthey callבִשְׁמוֹתָםvish/mo/TAMafter their own namesעֲלֵיa/LEonאֲדָמוֹת׃a/da/MOTtheir lands

    Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

13. 13

    וְאָדָםve/a/DAMbut manבִּיקָרbi/KARin honorבַּל־יָלִיןbal-ya/LINdoes not abideנִמְשַׁלnim/SHALhe is likeכַּבְּהֵמוֹתkab/be/he/MOTthe beastsנִדְמוּ׃nid/MUthat perish

    Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

14. 14

    זֶהzethisדַרְכָּםdar/KAMtheir wayכֵּסֶלKE/selis their follyלָמוֹLA/moof themוְאַחֲרֵיהֶםve/a/cha/re/HEMyet after themבְּפִיהֶםbe/fi/HEMtheir sayingsיִרְצוּyir/TSUapproveסֶלָה׃SE/laSelah

    This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

15. 15

    כַּצֹּאןkats/TSONlike the sheepלִשְׁאוֹלLish/OLfor Sheolשַׁתּוּshat/TUthey are appointedמָוֶתMA/vetdeathיִרְעֵםyir/EMshall be their shepherdוַיִּרְדּוּ־בָםvay/yir/DU-vamand shall have dominion over themיְשָׁרִיםye/sha/RIMthe uprightלַבֹּקֶרlab/BO/kerin the morning[וְצוּרָם]ve/tsu/RAMand their formלְבַלּוֹתle/val/LOTshall consumeשְׁאוֹלShe/OLSheolמִזְּבֻלmiz/ze/VULfar from their dwellingלוֹ׃lofor it

    Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

16. 16

    אַךְ־אֱלֹהִיםakh-e/lo/HIMbut Godיִפְדֶּהyif/DEwill ransomנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulמִיַּד־שְׁאוֹלmiy/YAD-she/OLfrom the power of Sheolכִּיkiforיִקָּחֵנִיyik/ka/CHE/niHe shall receive meסֶלָה׃SE/laSelah

    But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

17. 17

    אַל־תִּירָאal-ti/RAbe not afraidכִּי־יַעֲשִׁרki-ya/a/SHIRwhen becomes richאִישׁisha manכִּי־יִרְבֶּהki-yir/BEwhen increasesכְּבוֹדke/VODthe glory ofבֵּיתוֹ׃be/TOhis house

    Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

18. 18

    כִּיkiforלֹאlonotבְמוֹתוֹve/mo/TOwhen he diesיִקַּחyik/KACHwill he takeהַכֹּלhak/KOLeverythingלֹא־יֵרֵדlo-ye/REDshall not descendאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himכְּבוֹדוֹ׃ke/vo/DOhis glory

    For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

19. 19

    כִּי־נַפְשׁוֹki-naf/SHOthough his soulבְּחַיָּיוbe/chay/YAYVin his lifeיְבָרֵךְye/va/REKHhe blessesוְיוֹדֻךָve/yo/DU/khaand men praise youכִּי־תֵיטִיבki-te/TIVwhen you do wellלָךְ׃lakhfor yourself

    Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

20. 20

    תָּבוֹאta/VOit shall goעַד־דּוֹרad-dorto the generation ofאֲבוֹתָיוa/vo/TAYVhis fathersעַד־נֵצַחad-NE/tsachfor everלֹאlonotיִרְאוּ־אוֹר׃yir/U-orshall they see light

    He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

21. 21

    אָדָםa/DAMa manבִּיקָרbi/KARin honorוְלֹאve/LOand notיָבִיןya/VINunderstandsנִמְשַׁלnim/SHALis likeכַּבְּהֵמוֹתkab/be/he/MOTthe beastsנִדְמוּ׃nid/MUthat perish

    Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
