   To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

2. 2

   קַוֺּהkav/VOwaitקִוִּיתִיkiv/VI/tiI waited forיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיֵּטvay/YETand He inclinedאֵלַיe/LAYto meוַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand He heardשַׁוְעָתִי׃shav/a/TImy cry

   I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

   וַיַּעֲלֵנִיvay/ya/a/LE/niand He brought me upמִבּוֹרmib/BORout of the pit ofשָׁאוֹןsha/ONtumultמִטִּיטmit/TITout of the mud ofהַיָּוֵןhay/ya/VENthe mireוַיָּקֶםvay/YA/kemand He setעַל־סֶלַעal-SE/laupon a rockרַגְלַיrag/LAYmy feetכּוֹנֵןko/NENHe establishedאֲשֻׁרָי׃a/shu/RAYmy steps

   He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

   וַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand He has putבְּפִיbe/FIin my mouthשִׁירshira songחָדָשׁcha/DASHnewתְּהִלָּהte/hil/LApraiseלֵאלֹהֵינוּle/lo/HE/nuto our Godיִרְאוּyir/Uwill seeרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוְיִירָאוּve/yi/RA/uand shall fearוְיִבְטְחוּve/yiv/te/CHUand shall trustבַּיהֹוָה׃ba-Adonaiin the LORD

   And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

   אַשְׁרֵי־הַגֶּבֶרash/RE-hag/GE/verblessed is the manאֲשֶׁר־שָׂםa/SHER-samwho makesיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִבְטַחוֹmiv/ta/CHOhis trustוְלֹא־פָנָהve/LO-fa/NAand turns notאֶל־רְהָבִיםel-re/ha/VIMto the proudוְשָׂטֵיve/sa/TEnor to those who turn aside toכָזָב׃kha/ZAVlies

   Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

   רַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyעָשִׂיתָa/SI/taYou have doneאַתָּהat/TAYouיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהַיe/lo/HAYmy Godנִפְלְאֹתֶיךָnif/le/o/TE/khaYour marvelous worksוּמַחְשְׁבֹתֶיךָu/mach/she/vo/TE/khaand Your thoughtsאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nutoward usאֵיןenthere is noneעֲרֹךְa/ROKHto compareאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youאַגִּידָהag/GI/daI would declareוַאֲדַבֵּרָהva/a/dab/BE/raand speakעָצְמוּa/tse/MUthey are too numerousמִסַּפֵּר׃mis/sap/PERthan can be numbered

   Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

   זֶבַחZE/vachsacrificeוּמִנְחָהu/min/CHAand a grain offeringלֹא־חָפַצְתָּlo-cha/FATS/taYou did not desireאׇזְנַיִםoz/NA/yimearsכָּרִיתָka/RI/taYou have dugלִּיlifor meעוֹלָהo/LAa burnt offeringוַחֲטָאָהva/cha/ta/Aand sin offeringלֹאlonotשָׁאָלְתָּ׃sha/AL/tahave You required

   Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

   אָזazthenאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidהִנֵּה־בָאתִיhin/NE-VA/tibehold I comeבִּמְגִלַּת־סֵפֶרbim/gil/LAT-SE/ferin the scroll of a bookכָּתוּבka/TUVit is writtenעָלָי׃a/LAYconcerning me

   Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

   לַעֲשׂוֹת־רְצוֹנְךָla/a/SOT-re/tson/KHAto do Your willאֱלֹהַיe/lo/HAYO my Godחָפָצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiI delightוְתוֹרָתְךָve/to/ra/te/KHAand Your lawבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHwithinמֵעָי׃me/AYmy inward parts

   I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

10. 10

    בִּשַּׂרְתִּיbis/SAR/tiI have proclaimedצֶדֶקTSE/dekrighteousnessבְּקָהָלbe/ka/HALin the congregationרָבravgreatהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdשְׂפָתַיse/fa/TAYmy lipsלֹאlonotאֶכְלָאekh/LAdid I restrainיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאַתָּהat/TAYouיָדָעְתָּ׃ya/DA/taYou know

    I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

11. 11

    צִדְקָתְךָtsid/ka/te/KHAYour righteousnessלֹא־כִסִּיתִיlo-khis/SI/tiI have not hiddenבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHwithinלִבִּיlib/BImy heartאֱמוּנָתְךָe/mu/na/te/KHAYour faithfulnessוּתְשׁוּעָתְךָu/te/shu/a/te/KHAand Your salvationאָמָרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI have declaredלֹא־כִחַדְתִּיlo-khi/CHAD/tiI have not concealedחַסְדְּךָchas/de/KHAYour kindnessוַאֲמִתְּךָva/a/mit/te/KHAand Your truthלְקָהָלle/ka/HALfrom the congregationרָב׃ravgreat

    I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

    אַתָּהat/TAYouיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDלֹא־תִכְלָאlo-tikh/LAwithhold notרַחֲמֶיךָra/cha/ME/khaYour compassionמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meחַסְדְּךָchas/de/KHAYour kindnessוַאֲמִתְּךָva/a/mit/te/KHAand Your truthתָּמִידta/MIDcontinuallyיִצְּרוּנִי׃yits/tse/RU/nipreserve me

    Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

13. 13

    כִּיkiforאָפְפוּ־עָלַיa/fe/FU-a/LAYhave encompassed meרָעוֹתra/OTevilsעַד־אֵיןad-enbeyondמִסְפָּרmis/PARnumberהִשִּׂיגוּנִיhis/si/GU/nithey have overtaken meעֲוֺנֹתַיa/vo/no/TAYmy iniquitiesוְלֹא־יָכֹלְתִּיve/LO-ya/KHOL/tiso that I am not ableלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeעָצְמוּa/tse/MUthey are too numerousמִשַּׂעֲרוֹתmis/sa/a/ROTmore than the hairs ofרֹאשִׁיro/SHImy headוְלִבִּיve/lib/BIand my heartעֲזָבָנִי׃a/za/VA/nihas failed me

    For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

    רְצֵהre/TSEbe pleasedיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDלְהַצִּילֵנִיle/hats/tsi/LE/nito deliver meיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDלְעֶזְרָתִיle/ez/RA/tito my helpחוּשָׁה׃CHU/shamake haste

    Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

15. 15

    יֵבֹשׁוּye/VO/shulet be ashamedוְיַחְפְּרוּve/yach/pe/RUand confoundedיַחַדYA/chadtogetherמְבַקְשֵׁיme/vak/SHEwho seekנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulלִסְפּוֹתָהּlis/po/TAto destroy itיִסֹּגוּyis/SO/gulet be turnedאָחוֹרa/CHORbackוְיִכָּלְמוּve/yik/ka/le/MUand be disgracedחֲפֵצֵיcha/fe/TSEwho delight inרָעָתִי׃ra/a/TImy hurt

    Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

16. 16

    יָשֹׁמּוּya/SHOM/mulet them be appalledעַל־עֵקֶבal-E/kevas the reward ofבׇּשְׁתָּםbosh/TAMtheir shameהָאֹמְרִיםha/om/RIMwho sayלִיliconcerning meהֶאָחhe/ACHahaהֶאָח׃he/ACHaha

    Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

17. 17

    יָשִׂישׂוּya/SI/sulet them rejoiceוְיִשְׂמְחוּve/yis/me/CHUand be gladבְּךָbe/KHAin Youכׇּל־מְבַקְשֶׁיךָkol-me/vak/SHE/khaall those who seek Youיֹאמְרוּyo/me/RUlet them sayתָמִידta/MIDcontinuallyיִגְדַּלyig/DALlet be magnifiedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֹהֲבֵיo/ha/VEthose who loveתְּשׁוּעָתֶךָ׃te/shu/a/TE/khaYour salvation

    Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

18. 18

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIbut Iעָנִיa/NIam poorוְאֶבְיוֹןve/ev/YONand needyאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיַחֲשׇׁב־לִיya/cha/SHOV-litakes thought for meעֶזְרָתִיez/ra/TImy helpוּמְפַלְטִיu/me/fal/TIand my delivererאַתָּהat/TAYou areאֱלֹהַיe/lo/HAYO my Godאַל־תְּאַחַר׃al-te/a/CHARdo not delay

    But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
