   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianמִזְמוֹרa psalmלְדָוִד׃of David

   To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

2. 2

   אַשְׁרֵיblessed areמַשְׂכִּילhe who considersאֶל־דָּלthe poorבְּיוֹםin the day ofרָעָהevilיְמַלְּטֵהוּwill deliver himיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

   Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

   יְהֹוָהthe LORDיִשְׁמְרֵהוּpreserves himוִיחַיֵּהוּand keeps him alive[וְאֻשַּׁר]and he is called happyבָּאָרֶץupon the earthוְאַל־תִּתְּנֵהוּand You will not deliver himבְּנֶפֶשׁdeadlyאֹיְבָיו׃his enemies

   The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

   יְהֹוָהthe LORDיִסְעָדֶנּוּstrengthens himעַל־עֶרֶשׂupon the bed ofדְּוָיsicknessכׇּל־מִשְׁכָּבוֹall his bedהָפַכְתָּYou have changedבְחׇלְיוֹ׃in his sickness

   The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

   אֲנִי־אָמַרְתִּיI saidיְהֹוָהO LORDחׇנֵּנִיbe gracious to meרְפָאָהhealנַפְשִׁיmy soulכִּי־חָטָאתִיfor I have sinnedלָךְ׃against You

   I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

   אוֹיְבַיmy enemiesיֹאמְרוּspeakרַעevilלִיof meמָתַיwhenיָמוּתhe shall dieוְאָבַדand perishשְׁמוֹ׃his name

   Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

7. 7

   וְאִם־בָּאand if one comesלִרְאוֹתto seeשָׁוְאvanityיְדַבֵּרhe speaksלִבּוֹhis heartיִקְבׇּץ־אָוֶןgathers iniquityלוֹto itselfיֵצֵאhe goes outלַחוּץabroadיְדַבֵּר׃he speaks

   And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

8. 8

   יַחַדtogetherעָלַיupon meיִתְלַחֲשׁוּthey whisperכׇּל־שֹׂנְאָיall those who hate meעָלַיupon meיַחְשְׁבוּthey deviseרָעָהevilלִי׃for me

   All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

9. 9

   דְּבַר־בְּלִיַּעַלan evil thingיָצוּקcleaves fastבּוֹto himוַאֲשֶׁרand whereשָׁכַבhe liesלֹא־יוֹסִיףhe shall no moreלָקוּם׃rise up

   An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

10. 10

    גַּם־אִישׁeven the man ofשְׁלוֹמִיmy peaceאֲשֶׁר־בָּטַחְתִּיin whom I trustedבוֹin himאוֹכֵלwho ateלַחְמִיmy breadהִגְדִּילhas lifted upעָלַיagainst meעָקֵב׃his heel

    Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

11. 11

    וְאַתָּהand youיְהֹוָהO LORDחׇנֵּנִיbe gracious to meוַהֲקִימֵנִיand raise me upוַאֲשַׁלְּמָהthat I may repayלָהֶם׃to them

    But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

12. 12

    בְּזֹאתin thisיָדַעְתִּיI knowכִּי־חָפַצְתָּthat You favorבִּיmeכִּיbecauseלֹא־יָרִיעַdoes not triumphאֹיְבִיmy enemyעָלָי׃over me

    By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

13. 13

    וַאֲנִיand Iבְּתֻמִּיin my integrityתָּמַכְתָּYou upholdבִּיmeוַתַּצִּיבֵנִיand You set meלְפָנֶיךָbefore Your faceלְעוֹלָם׃forever

    And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

14. 14

    בָּרוּךְblessed beיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelמֵהָעוֹלָםfrom everlastingוְעַדand toהָעוֹלָםeverlastingאָמֵןamenוְאָמֵן׃and amen

    Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
