   מִזְמוֹרa psalmלְדָוִדof Davidלְהַזְכִּיר׃to bring to remembrance

   A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.

2. 2

   יְהֹוָהO LORDאַל־בְּקֶצְפְּךָnot in Your wrathתוֹכִיחֵנִיrebuke meוּבַחֲמָתְךָnor in Your hot displeasureתְיַסְּרֵנִי׃chasten me

   O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

   כִּי־חִצֶּיךָfor Your arrowsנִחֲתוּhave sunkבִיinto meוַתִּנְחַתand has come downעָלַיupon meיָדֶךָ׃Your hand

   For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

   אֵין־מְתֹםthere is no soundnessבִּבְשָׂרִיin my fleshמִפְּנֵיbecause ofזַעְמֶךָYour indignationאֵין־שָׁלוֹםthere is no healthבַּעֲצָמַיin my bonesמִפְּנֵיbecause ofחַטָּאתִי׃my sin

   There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

   כִּיbecauseעֲוֺנֹתַיmy iniquitiesעָבְרוּhave gone overרֹאשִׁיmy headכְּמַשָּׂאlike a burdenכָבֵדheavyיִכְבְּדוּthey are too heavyמִמֶּנִּי׃from me

   For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

   הִבְאִישׁוּthey stinkנָמַקּוּthey festerחַבּוּרֹתָיmy woundsמִפְּנֵיbecause ofאִוַּלְתִּי׃my foolishness

   My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

   נַעֲוֵיתִיI am troubledשַׁחֹתִיI am bowed downעַד־מְאֹדgreatlyכׇּל־הַיּוֹםall the dayקֹדֵרmourningהִלָּכְתִּי׃I go

   I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

8. 8

   כִּי־כְסָלַיbecause my loinsמָלְאוּare filled withנִקְלֶהburningוְאֵיןand there is noמְתֹםsoundnessבִּבְשָׂרִי׃in my flesh

   For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

9. 9

   נְפוּגוֹתִיI am feebleוְנִדְכֵּיתִיand sore brokenעַד־מְאֹדexceedinglyשָׁאַגְתִּיI groanמִנַּהֲמַתby reason of the disquiet ofלִבִּי׃my heart

   I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

    אֲדֹנָיO Lordנֶגְדְּךָbefore Youכׇל־תַּאֲוָתִיall my desireוְאַנְחָתִיand my sighingמִמְּךָfrom Youלֹא־נִסְתָּרָה׃not it is hidden

    Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

11. 11

    לִבִּיmy heartסְחַרְחַרpalpitatesעֲזָבַנִיhas failed meכֹחִיmy strengthוְאוֹר־עֵינַיand the light of my eyesגַּם־הֵםalso theyאֵיןis notאִתִּי׃with me

    My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

12. 12

    אֹהֲבַיmy friendsוְרֵעַיand my companionsמִנֶּגֶדaloof fromנִגְעִיmy plagueיַעֲמֹדוּthey standוּקְרוֹבַיand my kinsmenמֵרָחֹקfrom a distanceעָמָדוּ׃they stand

    My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

    וַיְנַקְשׁוּand they lay snaresמְבַקְשֵׁיwho seekנַפְשִׁיmy soulוְדֹרְשֵׁיand those who seekרָעָתִיmy harmדִּבְּרוּthey speakהַוּוֹתmischievous thingsוּמִרְמוֹתand deceitsכׇּל־הַיּוֹםall the dayיֶהְגּוּ׃they meditate

    They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

14. 14

    וַאֲנִיand Iכְחֵרֵשׁam like a deaf manלֹאnotאֶשְׁמָעdo I hearוּכְאִלֵּםand like a dumb manלֹאnotיִפְתַּח־פִּיו׃does he open his mouth

    But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

15. 15

    וָאֱהִיand I wasכְּאִישׁas a manאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־שֹׁמֵעַwho hears notוְאֵיןand there are noבְּפִיוin his mouthתּוֹכָחוֹת׃rebukes

    Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

16. 16

    כִּי־לְךָfor in YouיְהֹוָהO LORDהוֹחָלְתִּיI have waitedאַתָּהYouתַעֲנֶהwill answerאֲדֹנָיO Lordאֱלֹהָי׃my God

    For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

17. 17

    כִּי־אָמַרְתִּיbecause I saidפֶּן־יִשְׂמְחוּ־לִיlest they rejoice over meבְּמוֹטwhen slipsרַגְלִיmy footעָלַיagainst meהִגְדִּילוּ׃they magnify themselves

    For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

18. 18

    כִּי־אֲנִיfor Iלְצֶלַעto stumblingנָכוֹןam readyוּמַכְאוֹבִיand my painנֶגְדִּיbefore meתָמִיד׃continually

    For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

19. 19

    כִּי־עֲוֺנִיfor my iniquityאַגִּידI declareאֶדְאַגI am sorryמֵחַטָּאתִי׃from my sin

    For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

20. 20

    וְאֹיְבַיand my foesחַיִּיםare livingעָצֵמוּare vigorousוְרַבּוּand are manyשֹׂנְאַיthose who hate meשָׁקֶר׃wrongfully

    But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

21. 21

    וּמְשַׁלְּמֵיand those who repayרָעָהevilתַּחַתin return forטוֹבָהgoodיִשְׂטְנוּנִיthey accuse meתַּחַתin return for[רׇדְפִי־]טוֹב׃my following good

    They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

22. 22

    אַל־תַּעַזְבֵנִיdo not forsake meיְהֹוָהO LORDאֱלֹהַיO my Godאַל־תִּרְחַקdo not be farמִמֶּנִּי׃from me

    Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.

23. 23

    חוּשָׁהmake hasteלְעֶזְרָתִיto my helpאֲדֹנָיO Lordתְּשׁוּעָתִי׃my salvation

    Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
