   A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.

2. 2

   יְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאַל־בְּקֶצְפְּךָal-be/kets/pe/KHAnot in Your wrathתוֹכִיחֵנִיto/khi/CHE/nirebuke meוּבַחֲמָתְךָu/va/cha/ma/te/KHAnor in Your hot displeasureתְיַסְּרֵנִי׃te/yas/se/RE/nichasten me

   O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

   כִּי־חִצֶּיךָki-chits/TSE/khafor Your arrowsנִחֲתוּNI/cha/tuhave sunkבִיviinto meוַתִּנְחַתvat/tin/CHATand has pressed downעָלַיa/LAYupon meיָדֶךָ׃ya/DE/khaYour hand

   For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

   אֵין־מְתֹםen-me/TOMthere is no soundnessבִּבְשָׂרִיbiv/sa/RIin my fleshמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofזַעְמֶךָza/ME/khaYour indignationאֵין־שָׁלוֹםen-sha/LOMthere is no healthבַּעֲצָמַיba/a/tsa/MAYin my bonesמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofחַטָּאתִי׃chat/ta/TImy sin

   There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

   כִּיkibecauseעֲוֺנֹתַיa/vo/no/TAYmy iniquitiesעָבְרוּa/ve/RUhave gone overרֹאשִׁיro/SHImy headכְּמַשָּׂאke/mas/SAlike a burdenכָבֵדkha/VEDheavyיִכְבְּדוּyikh/be/DUthey are too heavyמִמֶּנִּי׃mim/MEN/nifor me

   For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

   הִבְאִישׁוּhiv/I/shuthey stinkנָמַקּוּna/mak/KUthey festerחַבּוּרֹתָיchab/bu/ro/TAYmy woundsמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofאִוַּלְתִּי׃iv/val/TImy foolishness

   My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

   נַעֲוֵיתִיna/a/VE/tiI am bentשַׁחֹתִיsha/CHO/tiI am bowed downעַד־מְאֹדad-me/ODgreatlyכׇּל־הַיּוֹםkol-hay/YOMall the dayקֹדֵרko/DERdarkenedהִלָּכְתִּי׃hil/LAKH/tiI go

   I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

   כִּי־כְסָלַיki-khe/sa/LAYbecause my loinsמָלְאוּma/le/Uare filled withנִקְלֶהnik/LEburningוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noמְתֹםme/TOMsoundnessבִּבְשָׂרִי׃biv/sa/RIin my flesh

   For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

   נְפוּגוֹתִיne/fu/GO/tiI am feebleוְנִדְכֵּיתִיve/nid/KE/tiand crushedעַד־מְאֹדad-me/ODexceedinglyשָׁאַגְתִּיsha/AG/tiI roarמִנַּהֲמַתmin/na/ha/MATbecause of the groaning ofלִבִּי׃lib/BImy heart

   I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

    אֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYO Lordנֶגְדְּךָneg/de/KHAbefore Youכׇל־תַּאֲוָתִיkhol-ta/a/va/TIall my desireוְאַנְחָתִיve/an/cha/TIand my sighingמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAfrom Youלֹא־נִסְתָּרָה׃lo-nis/TA/rais not hidden

    Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

    לִבִּיlib/BImy heartסְחַרְחַרse/char/CHARpalpitatesעֲזָבַנִיa/za/VA/nihas failed meכֹחִיkho/CHImy strengthוְאוֹר־עֵינַיve/OR-e/NAYand the light of my eyesגַּם־הֵםgam-hemeven theyאֵיןenare goneאִתִּי׃it/TIwith me

    My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

12. 12

    אֹהֲבַיo/ha/VAYmy friendsוְרֵעַיve/re/AYand my companionsמִנֶּגֶדmin/NE/gedaloof fromנִגְעִיnig/Imy plagueיַעֲמֹדוּya/a/MO/duthey standוּקְרוֹבַיu/ke/ro/VAYand my kinsmenמֵרָחֹקme/ra/CHOKfrom a distanceעָמָדוּ׃a/MA/duthey stand

    My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

    וַיְנַקְשׁוּvay/nak/SHUand they lay snaresמְבַקְשֵׁיme/vak/SHEthose who seekנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulוְדֹרְשֵׁיve/dor/SHEand those who seekרָעָתִיra/a/TImy harmדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUthey speakהַוּוֹתhav/VOTdestructionוּמִרְמוֹתu/mir/MOTand deceitכׇּל־הַיּוֹםkol-hay/YOMall the dayיֶהְגּוּ׃yeh/GUthey plot

    They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

14. 14

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIbut Iכְחֵרֵשׁkhe/che/RESHam like a deaf manלֹאlonotאֶשְׁמָעesh/MAdo I hearוּכְאִלֵּםu/khe/il/LEMand like a mute manלֹאlonotיִפְתַּח־פִּיו׃yif/TACH-pivopens his mouth

    But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

15. 15

    וָאֱהִיva/e/HIand I wasכְּאִישׁke/ISHas a manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־שֹׁמֵעַlo-sho/ME/adoes not hearוְאֵיןve/ENand there are noבְּפִיוbe/FIVin his mouthתּוֹכָחוֹת׃to/kha/CHOTarguments

    Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

16. 16

    כִּי־לְךָki-le/KHAfor in YouיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDהוֹחָלְתִּיho/CHAL/tiI have waitedאַתָּהat/TAYouתַעֲנֶהta/a/NEwill answerאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYO Lordאֱלֹהָי׃e/lo/HAYmy God

    For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

17. 17

    כִּי־אָמַרְתִּיki-a/MAR/tibecause I saidפֶּן־יִשְׂמְחוּ־לִיpen-yis/me/CHU-lilest they rejoice over meבְּמוֹטbe/MOTwhen slipsרַגְלִיrag/LImy footעָלַיa/LAYagainst meהִגְדִּילוּ׃hig/DI/luthey magnify themselves

    For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

18. 18

    כִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIfor Iלְצֶלַעle/TSE/lato fallנָכוֹןna/KHONam readyוּמַכְאוֹבִיu/makh/o/VIand my painנֶגְדִּיneg/DIbefore meתָמִיד׃ta/MIDcontinually

    For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

19. 19

    כִּי־עֲוֺנִיki-a/vo/NIfor my iniquityאַגִּידag/GIDI declareאֶדְאַגed/AGI am anxiousמֵחַטָּאתִי׃me/chat/ta/TIbecause of my sin

    For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

20. 20

    וְאֹיְבַיve/oy/VAYand my foesחַיִּיםchay/YIMare livelyעָצֵמוּa/TSE/muare strongוְרַבּוּve/rab/BUand are manyשֹׂנְאַיson/AYthose who hate meשָׁקֶר׃SHA/kerwrongfully

    But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

21. 21

    וּמְשַׁלְּמֵיu/me/shal/le/MEand those who repayרָעָהra/AevilתַּחַתTA/chatin return forטוֹבָהto/VAgoodיִשְׂטְנוּנִיyis/te/NU/nithey are my adversariesתַּחַתTA/chatin return for[רׇדְפִי־]טוֹב׃rod/FI-tovmy following good

    They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

22. 22

    אַל־תַּעַזְבֵנִיal-ta/az/VE/nido not forsake meיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֱלֹהַיe/lo/HAYO my Godאַל־תִּרְחַקal-tir/CHAKdo not be farמִמֶּנִּי׃mim/MEN/nifrom me

    Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.

23. 23

    חוּשָׁהCHU/shamake hasteלְעֶזְרָתִיle/ez/RA/tito my helpאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYO Lordתְּשׁוּעָתִי׃te/shu/a/TImy salvation

    Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
