   לְדָוִדle/Da/VIDof Davidאַל־תִּתְחַרal-tit/CHARdo not fret yourselfבַּמְּרֵעִיםbam/me/re/IMbecause of evildoersאַל־תְּקַנֵּאal-te/kan/NEdo not be jealousבְּעֹשֵׂיbe/o/SEof the doers ofעַוְלָה׃av/LAiniquity

   A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2. 2

   כִּיkiforכֶחָצִירkhe/cha/TSIRlike grassמְהֵרָהme/he/RAquicklyיִמָּלוּyim/MA/luthey shall be cut downוּכְיֶרֶקu/khe/YE/rekand like the greenדֶּשֶׁאDE/sheherbיִבּוֹלוּן׃yib/bo/LUNthey shall wither

   For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3. 3

   בְּטַחbe/TACHtrustבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDוַעֲשֵׂה־טוֹבva/a/SE-tovand do goodשְׁכׇן־אֶרֶץshe/KHON-E/retsdwell in the landוּרְעֵהu/re/Eand feed onאֱמוּנָה׃e/mu/NAfaithfulness

   Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4. 4

   וְהִתְעַנַּגve/hit/an/NAGand take delightעַל־יְהֹוָהal-Adonaiin the LORDוְיִתֶּן־לְךָve/yit/TEN-le/KHAand He shall give youמִשְׁאֲלֹתmish/a/LOTthe desires ofלִבֶּךָ׃lib/BE/khayour heart

   Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

   גּוֹלgolcommitעַל־יְהֹוָהal-Adonaito the LORDדַּרְכֶּךָdar/KE/khayour wayוּבְטַחu/ve/TACHand trustעָלָיוa/LAYVin Himוְהוּאve/HUand Heיַעֲשֶׂה׃ya/a/SEwill act

   Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6. 6

   וְהוֹצִיאve/ho/TSIand He will bring forthכָאוֹרkha/ORlike the lightצִדְקֶךָtsid/KE/khayour righteousnessוּמִשְׁפָּטֶךָu/mish/pa/TE/khaand your justiceכַּצׇּהֳרָיִם׃kats/tso/ho/RA/yimlike the noonday

   And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

   דּוֹםdombe stillלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaibefore the LORDוְהִתְחוֹלֵלve/hit/CHO/leland wait patientlyלוֹlofor Himאַל־תִּתְחַרal-tit/CHARdo not fret yourselfבְּמַצְלִיחַbe/mats/LI/achbecause of him who prospers inדַּרְכּוֹdar/KOhis wayבְּאִישׁbe/ISHbecause of the manעֹשֶׂהo/SEwho carries outמְזִמּוֹת׃me/zim/MOTschemes

   Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8. 8

   הֶרֶףHE/refceaseמֵאַףme/AFfrom angerוַעֲזֹבva/a/ZOVand forsakeחֵמָהche/MAwrathאַל־תִּתְחַרal-tit/CHARdo not fret yourselfאַךְ־לְהָרֵעַ׃akh-le/ha/RE/ait leads only to evil

   Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

9. 9

   כִּי־מְרֵעִיםki-me/re/IMbecause evildoersיִכָּרֵתוּןyik/ka/re/TUNshall be cut offוְקֹוֵיve/ko/VEand those who wait forיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהֵמָּהHEM/matheyיִירְשׁוּ־אָרֶץ׃YI/re/shu-A/retsthey shall inherit the earth

   For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

10. 10

    וְעוֹדve/ODand yetמְעַטme/ATa little whileוְאֵיןve/ENand there is no moreרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedוְהִתְבּוֹנַנְתָּve/hit/bo/NAN/taand you will look carefullyעַל־מְקוֹמוֹal-me/ko/MOat his placeוְאֵינֶנּוּ׃ve/e/NEN/nuand he is not there

    For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

11. 11

    וַעֲנָוִיםva/a/na/VIMbut the meekיִירְשׁוּ־אָרֶץYI/re/shu-A/retsthey shall inherit the earthוְהִתְעַנְּגוּve/hit/an/ne/GUand shall delight themselvesעַל־רֹבal-rovin the abundance ofשָׁלוֹם׃sha/LOMpeace

    But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12. 12

    זֹמֵםzo/MEMplotsרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedלַצַּדִּיקlats/tsad/DIKagainst the righteousוְחֹרֵקve/cho/REKand gnashesעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himשִׁנָּיו׃shin/NAYVhis teeth

    The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

13. 13

    אֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיִשְׂחַק־לוֹyis/CHAK-loshall laugh at himכִּי־רָאָהki-ra/Afor He seesכִּי־יָבֹאki-ya/VOthat is comingיוֹמוֹ׃yo/MOhis day

    The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

14. 14

    חֶרֶבCHE/revthe swordפָּתְחוּpa/te/CHUhave drawnרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedוְדָרְכוּve/da/re/KHUand they have bentקַשְׁתָּםkash/TAMtheir bowלְהַפִּילle/hap/PILto bring downעָנִיa/NIthe poorוְאֶבְיוֹןve/ev/YONand needyלִטְבוֹחַlit/VO/achto slayיִשְׁרֵי־דָרֶךְ׃yish/RE-DA/rekhthe upright of way

    The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.

15. 15

    חַרְבָּםchar/BAMtheir swordתָּבוֹאta/VOshall comeבְלִבָּםve/lib/BAMinto their own heartוְקַשְּׁתוֹתָםve/kash/she/to/TAMand their bowsתִּשָּׁבַרְנָה׃tish/sha/VAR/nathey shall be broken

    Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

16. 16

    טוֹב־מְעַטtov-me/ATbetter is a littleלַצַּדִּיקlats/tsad/DIKof the righteousמֵהֲמוֹןme/ha/MONthan the abundance ofרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

17. 17

    כִּיkiforזְרוֹעוֹתze/ro/OTthe arms ofרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedתִּשָּׁבַרְנָהtish/sha/VAR/nathey shall be brokenוְסוֹמֵךְve/so/MEKHbut upholdsצַדִּיקִיםtsad/di/KIMthe righteousיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.

18. 18

    יוֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowsיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofתְמִימִםte/mi/MIMthe blamelessוְנַחֲלָתָםve/na/cha/la/TAMand their inheritanceלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverתִּהְיֶה׃tih/YEshall be

    The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

19. 19

    לֹא־יֵבֹשׁוּlo-ye/VO/shushall not be ashamedבְּעֵתbe/ETin the time ofרָעָהra/Aevilוּבִימֵיu/vi/MEand in the days ofרְעָבוֹןre/a/VONfamineיִשְׂבָּעוּ׃yis/BA/uthey shall be satisfied

    They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20. 20

    כִּיkibecauseרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedיֹאבֵדוּyo/VE/dushall perishוְאֹיְבֵיve/oy/VEand the enemies ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכִּיקַרki/KARlike the splendor ofכָּרִיםka/RIMthe meadowsכָּלוּka/LUthey vanishבֶעָשָׁןve/a/SHANin smokeכָּלוּ׃ka/LUthey vanish

    But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

21. 21

    לֹוֶהlo/VEborrowsרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedוְלֹאve/LOand notיְשַׁלֵּםye/shal/LEMpay backוְצַדִּיקve/tsad/DIKbut the righteousחוֹנֵןcho/NENis graciousוְנוֹתֵן׃ve/no/TENand gives

    The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

22. 22

    כִּיkiforמְבֹרָכָיוme/vo/ra/KHAYVthose blessed of HimיִירְשׁוּYI/re/shushall inheritאָרֶץA/retsthe earthוּמְקֻלָּלָיוu/me/kul/la/LAYVand those cursed of Himיִכָּרֵתוּ׃yik/ka/RE/tushall be cut off

    For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

23. 23

    מֵיְהֹוָהme-Adonaifrom the LORDמִצְעֲדֵי־גֶבֶרmits/a/DE-GE/verthe steps of a manכּוֹנָנוּko/NA/nuare establishedוְדַרְכּוֹve/dar/KOand his wayיֶחְפָּץ׃yech/PATSHe delights in

    The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

24. 24

    כִּי־יִפֹּלki-yip/POLthough he fallלֹא־יוּטָלlo-yu/TALhe shall not be cast downכִּי־יְהֹוָהki-Adonaifor the LORDסוֹמֵךְso/MEKHupholdsיָדוֹ׃ya/DOhis hand

    Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

25. 25

    נַעַרNA/ara young manהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI wasגַּם־זָקַנְתִּיgam-za/KAN/tiand now I am oldוְלֹא־רָאִיתִיve/LO-ra/I/tiyet I have not seenצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe righteousנֶעֱזָבne/e/ZAVforsakenוְזַרְעוֹve/zar/Oor his offspringמְבַקֶּשׁ־לָחֶם׃me/vak/KESH-LA/chembegging bread

    I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

26. 26

    כׇּל־הַיּוֹםkol-hay/YOMall the dayחוֹנֵןcho/NENhe is graciousוּמַלְוֶהu/mal/VEand lendsוְזַרְעוֹve/zar/Oand his offspringלִבְרָכָה׃liv/ra/KHAis for a blessing

    He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

27. 27

    סוּרsurdepartמֵרָעme/RAfrom evilוַעֲשֵׂה־טוֹבva/a/SE-tovand do goodוּשְׁכֹןu/she/KHONand dwellלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

    Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

28. 28

    כִּיkibecauseיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֹהֵבo/HEVlovesמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjusticeוְלֹא־יַעֲזֹבve/LO-ya/a/ZOVand forsakes notאֶת־חֲסִידָיוet-cha/si/DAYVHis faithful onesלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverנִשְׁמָרוּnish/MA/ruthey are preservedוְזֶרַעve/ZE/raand the seed ofרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedנִכְרָת׃nikh/RATshall be cut off

    For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29. 29

    צַדִּיקִיםtsad/di/KIMthe righteousיִירְשׁוּ־אָרֶץYI/re/shu-A/retsshall inherit the earthוְיִשְׁכְּנוּve/yish/ke/NUand shall dwellלָעַדla/ADforeverעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/haupon it

    The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

30. 30

    פִּי־צַדִּיקpi-tsad/DIKthe mouth of the righteousיֶהְגֶּהyeh/GEspeaksחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomוּלְשׁוֹנוֹu/le/sho/NOand his tongueתְּדַבֵּרte/dab/BERspeaksמִשְׁפָּט׃mish/PATjustice

    The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

31. 31

    תּוֹרַתto/RATthe law ofאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVhis Godבְּלִבּוֹbe/lib/BOin his heartלֹאlonotתִמְעַדtim/ADshall falterאֲשֻׁרָיו׃a/shu/RAYVhis steps

    The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

32. 32

    צוֹפֶהtso/FEwatchesרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedלַצַּדִּיקlats/tsad/DIKthe righteousוּמְבַקֵּשׁu/me/vak/KESHand seeksלַהֲמִיתוֹ׃la/ha/mi/TOto slay him

    The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

33. 33

    יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֹא־יַעַזְבֶנּוּlo-ya/az/VEN/nuwill not leave himבְיָדוֹve/ya/DOin his handוְלֹאve/LOand notיַרְשִׁיעֶנּוּyar/shi/EN/nuwill He condemn himבְּהִשָּׁפְטוֹ׃be/hish/SHAF/towhen he is judged

    The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

34. 34

    קַוֵּהkav/VEwaitאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDוּשְׁמֹרu/she/MORand keepדַּרְכּוֹdar/KOHis wayוִירוֹמִמְךָvi/ro/mim/KHAand He shall exalt youלָרֶשֶׁתla/RE/shetto inheritאָרֶץA/retsthe earthבְּהִכָּרֵתbe/hik/ka/RETwhen are cut offרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedתִּרְאֶה׃tir/Eyou shall see

    Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

35. 35

    רָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedעָרִיץa/RITSruthlessוּמִתְעָרֶהu/mit/a/REand spreading himselfכְּאֶזְרָחke/ez/RACHlike a native treeרַעֲנָן׃ra/a/NANgreen

    I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

36. 36

    וַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORyet he passed awayוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuhe was notוָאֲבַקְשֵׁהוּva/a/vak/SHE/huand I sought himוְלֹאve/LOand notנִמְצָא׃nim/TSAfound

    Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37. 37

    שְׁמׇר־תָּםshe/MOR-tammark the blamelessוּרְאֵהu/re/Eand beholdיָשָׁרya/SHARthe uprightכִּי־אַחֲרִיתki-a/cha/RITfor the end ofלְאִישׁle/ISHof the manשָׁלוֹם׃sha/LOMpeace

    Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

38. 38

    וּפֹשְׁעִיםu/fosh/IMand transgressorsנִשְׁמְדוּnish/me/DUare destroyedיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherאַחֲרִיתa/cha/RITthe end ofרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedנִכְרָתָה׃nikh/RA/tashall be cut off

    But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

39. 39

    וּתְשׁוּעַתu/te/shu/ATand the salvation ofצַדִּיקִיםtsad/di/KIMthe righteousמֵיְהֹוָהme-Adonaifrom the LORDמָעוּזָּםma/uz/ZAMtheir strongholdבְּעֵתbe/ETin the time ofצָרָה׃tsa/RAtrouble

    But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

40. 40

    וַיַּעְזְרֵםvay/ya/ze/REMand helps themיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיְפַלְּטֵםvay/fal/le/TEMand delivers themיְפַלְּטֵםye/fal/le/TEMHe delivers themמֵרְשָׁעִיםmer/sha/IMfrom the wickedוְיוֹשִׁיעֵםve/yo/shi/EMand He saves themכִּי־חָסוּki-CHA/subecause they have taken refugeבוֹ׃voin Him

    And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
