   To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

2. 2

   בְּךָ־יְהֹוָהbe/KHA-Adonaiin You O LORDחָסִיתִיcha/SI/tiI take refugeאַל־אֵבוֹשָׁהal-e/VO/shalet me not be ashamedלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverבְּצִדְקָתְךָbe/tsid/ka/te/KHAin Your righteousnessפַלְּטֵנִי׃fal/le/TE/nideliver me

   In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

   הַטֵּהhat/TEinclineאֵלַיe/LAYto meאׇזְנְךָoz/ne/KHAYour earמְהֵרָהme/he/RAspeedilyהַצִּילֵנִיhats/tsi/LE/nideliver meהֱיֵהhe/YEbeלִיlito meלְצוּר־מָעוֹזle/TSUR-ma/OZa rock of strengthלְבֵיתle/VETa house ofמְצוּדוֹתme/tsu/DOTstrongholdsלְהוֹשִׁיעֵנִי׃le/ho/shi/E/nito save me

   Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

   כִּי־סַלְעִיki-sal/Ifor my rockוּמְצוּדָתִיu/me/tsu/da/TIand my fortressאָתָּהAT/taYou areוּלְמַעַןu/le/MA/anand for the sake ofשִׁמְךָshim/KHAYour nameתַּנְחֵנִיtan/CHE/nilead meוּתְנַהֲלֵנִי׃u/te/na/ha/LE/niand guide me

   For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

   תּוֹצִיאֵנִיto/tsi/E/niYou will bring me outמֵרֶשֶׁתme/RE/shetout of the netזוּzuwhichטָמְנוּta/me/NUthey hidלִיlifor meכִּי־אַתָּהki-at/TAfor You areמָעוּזִּי׃ma/uz/ZImy stronghold

   Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

   בְּיָדְךָbe/ya/de/KHAinto Your handאַפְקִידaf/KIDI entrustרוּחִיru/CHImy spiritפָּדִיתָpa/DI/taYou have redeemedאוֹתִיo/TImeיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֵלelO Godאֱמֶת׃e/METof truth

   Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

   שָׂנֵאתִיsa/NE/tiI have hatedהַשֹּׁמְרִיםhash/shom/RIMthose who regardהַבְלֵי־שָׁוְאhav/LE-shavlying vanitiesוַאֲנִיva/a/NIbut Iאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDבָּטָחְתִּי׃ba/TACH/tiI trust

   I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.

8. 8

   אָגִילָהa/GI/laI will rejoiceוְאֶשְׂמְחָהve/es/me/CHAand I will be gladבְּחַסְדֶּךָbe/chas/DE/khain Your kindnessאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichרָאִיתָra/I/taYou have seenאֶת־עׇנְיִיet-on/YImy afflictionיָדַעְתָּya/DA/taYou have knownבְּצָרוֹתbe/tsa/ROTin the troubles ofנַפְשִׁי׃naf/SHImy soul

   I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

   וְלֹאve/LOand notהִסְגַּרְתַּנִיhis/gar/ta/NIYou have delivered meבְּיַד־אוֹיֵבbe/YAD-o/YEVinto the hand of the enemyהֶעֱמַדְתָּhe/e/MAD/taYou have setבַמֶּרְחָבvam/mer/CHAVin a broad placeרַגְלָי׃rag/LAYmy feet

   And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

    חׇנֵּנִיchon/NE/nibe gracious to meיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDכִּיkiforצַר־לִיtsar-liI am in troubleעָשְׁשָׁהa/she/SHAwastes awayבְכַעַסve/KHA/aswith griefעֵינִיe/NImy eyeנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulוּבִטְנִי׃u/vit/NIand my belly

    Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

11. 11

    כִּיkibecauseכָלוּkha/LUis spentבְיָגוֹןve/ya/GONin sorrowחַיַּיchay/YAYmy lifeוּשְׁנוֹתַיu/she/no/TAYand my yearsבַּאֲנָחָהba/a/na/CHAwith groaningכָּשַׁלka/SHALfailsבַּעֲוֺנִיba/a/vo/NIby my iniquityכֹחִיkho/CHImy strengthוַעֲצָמַיva/a/tsa/MAYand my bonesעָשֵׁשׁוּ׃a/SHE/shuthey have wasted away

    For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

    מִכׇּל־צֹרְרַיmik/KOL-tsor/RAYbecause of all my adversariesהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI have becomeחֶרְפָּהcher/PAa reproachוְלִשְׁכֵנַיve/lish/khe/NAYand to my neighborsמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוּפַחַדu/FA/chaddreadלִמְיֻדָּעָיlim/yud/da/AYto my acquaintancesרֹאַיro/AYthose who see meבַּחוּץba/CHUTSin the streetנָדְדוּna/de/DUthey fledמִמֶּנִּי׃mim/MEN/nifrom me

    I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

13. 13

    נִשְׁכַּחְתִּיnish/kach/TII have been forgottenכְּמֵתke/METas deadמִלֵּבmil/LEVout of mindהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI have becomeכִּכְלִיkikh/LIlike a vesselאֹבֵד׃o/VEDlost

    I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

14. 14

    כִּיkiforשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tiI have heardדִּבַּתdib/BATthe slander ofרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמָגוֹרma/GORterrorמִסָּבִיבmis/sa/VIVall aroundבְּהִוָּסְדָםbe/hiv/va/se/DAMwhen they took counselיַחַדYA/chadtogetherעָלַיa/LAYagainst meלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy lifeזָמָמוּ׃za/MA/muthey devised

    For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

15. 15

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIbut Iעָלֶיךָa/LE/khain Youבָטַחְתִּיva/TACH/tiI trustיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidאֱלֹהַיe/lo/HAYmy Godאָתָּה׃AT/taYou are

    But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.

16. 16

    בְּיָדְךָbe/ya/de/KHAin Your handעִתֹּתָיit/to/TAYmy timesהַצִּילֵנִיhats/tsi/LE/nideliver meמִיַּד־אוֹיְבַיmiy/YAD-oy/VAYfrom the hand of my enemiesוּמֵרֹדְפָי׃u/me/rod/FAYand from my pursuers

    My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

17. 17

    הָאִירָהha/I/ramake shineפָנֶיךָfa/NE/khaYour faceעַל־עַבְדֶּךָal-av/DE/khaupon Your servantהוֹשִׁיעֵנִיho/shi/E/nisave meבְחַסְדֶּךָ׃ve/chas/DE/khain Your kindness

    Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.

18. 18

    יְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאַל־אֵבוֹשָׁהal-e/VO/shalet me not be ashamedכִּיkiforקְרָאתִיךָke/ra/TI/khaI have called upon Youיֵבֹשׁוּye/VO/shulet be ashamedרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedיִדְּמוּyid/de/MUlet them be silentלִשְׁאוֹל׃Lish/OLin Sheol

    Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

19. 19

    תֵּאָלַמְנָהte/a/LAM/nalet be muteשִׂפְתֵי־שָׁקֶרsif/TE-SHA/kerthe lying lipsהַדֹּבְרוֹתhad/dov/ROTwhich speakעַל־צַדִּיקal-tsad/DIKagainst the righteousעָתָקa/TAKarrogantlyבְּגַאֲוָהbe/ga/a/VAwith prideוָבוּז׃va/VUZand contempt

    Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

20. 20

    מָהmahowרַב־טוּבְךָrav-tuv/KHAgreat is Your goodnessאֲשֶׁר־צָפַנְתָּa/SHER-tsa/FAN/tawhich You have laid upלִּירֵאֶיךָli/re/E/khafor those who fear Youפָּעַלְתָּpa/AL/taYou have performedלַחֹסִיםla/cho/SIMfor those who take refugeבָּךְbakhin YouנֶגֶדNE/gedin the sight ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאָדָם׃a/DAMman

    Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

21. 21

    תַּסְתִּירֵםtas/ti/REMYou hide themבְּסֵתֶרbe/SE/terin the cover ofפָּנֶיךָpa/NE/khaYour presenceמֵרֻכְסֵי־אִישׁme/rukh/SE-ishfrom the plots of menתִּצְפְּנֵםtits/pe/NEMYou keep them secretlyבְּסֻכָּהbe/suk/KAin a pavilionמֵרִיבme/RIVfrom the strife ofלְשֹׁנוֹת׃le/sho/NOTtongues

    Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

22. 22

    בָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessed beיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכִּיkiforהִפְלִיא־חַסְדּוֹhif/LI-chas/DOHe has made wonderful His kindnessלִיlito meבְּעִירbe/IRin a cityמָצוֹר׃ma/TSORbesieged

    Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

23. 23

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIas for meאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidבְחׇפְזִיve/chof/ZIin my hasteנִגְרַזְתִּיnig/raz/TII have been cut offמִנֶּגֶדmin/NE/gedfrom beforeעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khaYour eyesאָכֵןa/KHENsurelyשָׁמַעְתָּsha/MA/taYou have heardקוֹלkolthe voice ofתַּחֲנוּנַיta/cha/nu/NAYmy supplicationsבְּשַׁוְּעִיbe/shav/ve/Iwhen I cry for helpאֵלֶיךָ׃e/LE/khato You

    For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

24. 24

    אֶהֱבוּe/he/VUO loveאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDכׇּל־חֲסִידָיוkol-cha/si/DAYVall His faithful onesאֱמוּנִיםe/mu/NIMthe faithfulנֹצֵרno/TSERpreservesיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוּמְשַׁלֵּםu/me/shal/LEMand repaysעַל־יֶתֶרal-YE/terabundantlyעֹשֵׂהo/SEhim who actsגַאֲוָה׃ga/a/VAhaughtily

    O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

25. 25

    חִזְקוּchiz/KUbe strongוְיַאֲמֵץve/ya/a/METSand let be strongלְבַבְכֶםle/vav/KHEMyour heartכׇּל־הַמְיַחֲלִיםkol-ham/ya/cha/LIMall you who hopeלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaiin the LORD

    Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
