   לְדָוִדle/Da/VIDof DavidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאוֹרִיO/riis my lightוְיִשְׁעִיve/yish/Iand my salvationמִמִּיmim/MIof whomאִירָאi/RAshall I fearיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמָעוֹז־חַיַּיma/OZ-chay/YAYthe strength of my lifeמִמִּיmim/MIof whomאֶפְחָד׃ef/CHADshall I be afraid

   A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2. 2

   בִּקְרֹבbik/ROVwhen drew nearעָלַיa/LAYagainst meמְרֵעִיםme/re/IMevildoersלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eat upאֶת־בְּשָׂרִיet-be/sa/RImy fleshצָרַיtsa/RAYmy adversariesוְאֹיְבַיve/oy/VAYand my enemiesלִיlito meהֵמָּהHEM/matheyכָשְׁלוּkha/she/LUstumbledוְנָפָלוּ׃ve/na/FA/luand fell

   When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

   אִם־תַּחֲנֶהim-ta/cha/NEthough should encampעָלַיa/LAYagainst meמַחֲנֶהma/cha/NEan armyלֹא־יִירָאlo-yi/RAshall not fearלִבִּיlib/BImy heartאִם־תָּקוּםim-ta/KUMthough should riseעָלַיa/LAYagainst meמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarבְּזֹאתbe/ZOTin thisאֲנִיa/NIIבוֹטֵחַ׃vo/TE/acham confident

   Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

   אַחַתa/CHAToneשָׁאַלְתִּיsha/AL/tiI have askedמֵאֵת־יְהֹוָהme/ET-Adonaifrom the LORDאוֹתָהּo/TAthatאֲבַקֵּשׁa/vak/KESHI will seekשִׁבְתִּיshiv/TIthat I may dwellבְּבֵית־יְהֹוָהbe/VET-Adonaiin the house of the LORDכׇּל־יְמֵיkol-ye/MEall the days ofחַיַּיchay/YAYmy lifeלַחֲזוֹתla/cha/ZOTto beholdבְּנֹעַם־יְהֹוָהbe/NO/am-Adonaion the beauty of the LORDוּלְבַקֵּרu/le/vak/KERand to inquireבְּהֵיכָלוֹ׃be/he/kha/LOin His temple

   One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

   כִּיkiforיִצְפְּנֵנִיyits/pe/NE/niHe will conceal meבְּסֻכֹּהbe/suk/KOin His shelterבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofרָעָהra/Aevilיַסְתִּרֵנִיyas/ti/re/NIHe will hide meבְּסֵתֶרbe/SE/terin the cover ofאׇהֳלוֹo/ho/LOHis tentבְּצוּרbe/TSURupon a rockיְרוֹמְמֵנִי׃ye/rom/ME/niHe will set me up

   For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowיָרוּםya/RUMwill be exaltedרֹאשִׁיro/SHImy headעַלalaboveאֹיְבַיoy/VAYmy enemiesסְבִיבוֹתַיse/vi/vo/TAYround about meוְאֶזְבְּחָהve/ez/be/CHAand I will sacrificeבְאׇהֳלוֹve/o/ho/LOin His tentזִבְחֵיziv/CHEsacrifices ofתְרוּעָהte/ru/Ashoutingאָשִׁירָהa/SHI/raI will singוַאֲזַמְּרָהva/a/zam/me/RAand will sing praiseלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaito the LORD

   And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

7. 7

   שְׁמַע־יְהֹוָהshe/MA-Adonaihear O LORDקוֹלִיko/LImy voiceאֶקְרָאek/RAI callוְחׇנֵּנִיve/chon/NE/niand be gracious to meוַעֲנֵנִי׃va/a/NE/niand answer me

   Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8. 8

   לְךָle/KHAto Youאָמַרa/MARsaidלִבִּיlib/BImy heartבַּקְּשׁוּbak/ke/SHUseekפָנָיfa/NAYMy faceאֶת־פָּנֶיךָet-pa/NE/khaYour faceיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֲבַקֵּשׁ׃a/vak/KESHI will seek

   When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

9. 9

   אַל־תַּסְתֵּרal-tas/TERdo not hideפָּנֶיךָpa/NE/khaYour faceמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meאַלaldo notתַּט־בְּאַףtat-be/AFturn away in angerעַבְדֶּךָav/DE/khaYour servantעֶזְרָתִיez/ra/TImy helpהָיִיתָha/YI/taYou have beenאַל־תִּטְּשֵׁנִיal-tit/te/SHE/nido not cast me offוְאַל־תַּעַזְבֵנִיve/AL-ta/az/VE/niand do not forsake meאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׁעִי׃yish/Imy salvation

   Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10. 10

    כִּי־אָבִיki-a/VIbecause my fatherוְאִמִּיve/im/MIand my motherעֲזָבוּנִיa/za/VU/nihave forsaken meוַיהֹוָהve-Adonaibut the LORDיַאַסְפֵנִי׃ya/as/FE/niwill take me in

    When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

    הוֹרֵנִיho/RE/niteach meיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDדַּרְכֶּךָdar/KE/khaYour wayוּנְחֵנִיu/ne/CHE/niand lead meבְּאֹרַחbe/O/rachin the path ofמִישׁוֹרmi/SHORlevelלְמַעַןle/MA/anbecause ofשׁוֹרְרָי׃shor/RAYmy enemies

    Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

12. 12

    אַל־תִּתְּנֵנִיal-tit/te/ne/NIdo not deliver me overבְּנֶפֶשׁbe/NE/feshto the will ofצָרָיtsa/RAYmy adversariesכִּיkiforקָמוּ־בִיKA/mu-vihave risen against meעֵדֵי־שֶׁקֶרe/DE-SHE/kerfalse witnessesוִיפֵחַvi/FE/achand one who breathes outחָמָס׃cha/MASviolence

    Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

13. 13

    לׅׄוּׅׄלֵׅׄאׅׄlu/LEunlessהֶאֱמַנְתִּיhe/e/MAN/tiI believedלִרְאוֹתlir/OTthat I would seeבְּטוּב־יְהֹוָהbe/TUV-Adonaion the goodness of the LORDבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofחַיִּים׃chay/YIMlife

    I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

14. 14

    קַוֵּהkav/VEwaitאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaifor the LORDחֲזַקcha/ZAKbe strongוְיַאֲמֵץve/ya/a/METSand let be strongלִבֶּךָlib/BE/khayour heartוְקַוֵּהve/kav/VEand waitאֶל־יְהֹוָה׃el-Adonaifor the LORD

    Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
