   אֵלִיe/LImy Godאֵלִיe/LImy Godלָמָהla/MAwhyעֲזַבְתָּנִיa/zav/TA/nihave You forsaken meרָחוֹקra/CHOKfarמִישׁוּעָתִיmi/shu/a/TIfrom my salvationדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofשַׁאֲגָתִי׃sha/a/ga/TImy roaring

   My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

   אֱלֹהַיe/lo/HAYmy Godאֶקְרָאek/RAI callיוֹמָםyo/MAMby dayוְלֹאve/LOand notתַעֲנֶהta/a/NEYou answerוְלַיְלָהve/LAY/laand by nightוְלֹא־דֻמִיָּהve/LO-du/miy/YAand no restלִי׃lifor me

   O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

   וְאַתָּהve/at/TAyet You areקָדוֹשׁka/DOSHholyיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVenthroned uponתְּהִלּוֹתte/hil/LOTthe praises ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

   בְּךָbe/KHAin Youבָּטְחוּba/te/CHUthey trustedאֲבֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersבָּטְחוּba/te/CHUthey trustedוַתְּפַלְּטֵמוֹ׃vat/te/fal/le/TE/moand You delivered them

   Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

   אֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youזָעֲקוּza/a/KUthey cried outוְנִמְלָטוּve/nim/LA/tuand they were deliveredבְּךָbe/KHAin Youבָטְחוּva/te/CHUthey trustedוְלֹא־בוֹשׁוּ׃ve/LO-VO/shuand were not ashamed

   They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

   וְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIyet Iתוֹלַעַתto/LA/ata wormוְלֹא־אִישׁve/LO-ishand not a manחֶרְפַּתcher/PATa reproach ofאָדָםa/DAMmanוּבְזוּיu/ve/ZUYand despised byעָם׃amthe people

   But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

   כׇּל־רֹאַיkol-ro/AYall those who see meיַלְעִגוּyal/I/guthey mockלִיliat meיַפְטִירוּyaf/TI/ruthey partבְשָׂפָהve/sa/FAthe lipיָנִיעוּya/NI/uthey shakeרֹאשׁ׃roshthe head

   All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

   גֹּלgolcommitאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDיְפַלְּטֵהוּye/fal/le/TE/hulet Him rescue himיַצִּילֵהוּyats/tsi/LE/hulet Him deliver himכִּי־חָפֵץ־בּוֹ׃ki-cha/FETS-bosince He delights in him

   He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

10. 10

    כִּי־אַתָּהki-at/TAfor Youגֹחִיgo/CHIwho drew me outמִבָּטֶןmib/BA/tenfrom the wombמַבְטִיחִיmav/ti/CHIwho made me trustעַל־שְׁדֵיal-she/DEupon the breasts ofאִמִּי׃im/MImy mother

    But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.

    עָלֶיךָa/LE/khaupon Youהׇשְׁלַכְתִּיhosh/LAKH/tiI was castמֵרָחֶםme/RA/chemfrom the wombמִבֶּטֶןmib/BE/tenfrom the belly ofאִמִּיim/MImy motherאֵלִיe/LImy Godאָתָּה׃AT/taYou are

    I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.

12. 12

    אַל־תִּרְחַקal-tir/CHAKdo not be farמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meכִּי־צָרָהki-tsa/RAfor trouble isקְרוֹבָהke/ro/VAnearכִּי־אֵיןki-enfor there is noneעוֹזֵר׃o/ZERhelper

    Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

    סְבָבוּנִיse/va/VU/nithey surrounded meפָּרִיםpa/RIMbullsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyאַבִּירֵיab/BI/remighty bulls ofבָשָׁןVa/SHANBashanכִּתְּרוּנִי׃kit/te/RU/nithey have encircled me

    Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

14. 14

    פָּצוּpa/TSUthey have openedעָלַיa/LAYupon meפִּיהֶםpi/HEMtheir mouthאַרְיֵהar/YEa lionטֹרֵףto/REFtearingוְשֹׁאֵג׃ve/sho/EGand roaring

    They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

15. 15

    כַּמַּיִםkam/MA/yimlike waterנִשְׁפַּכְתִּיnish/pakh/TII have been poured outוְהִתְפָּרְדוּve/hit/pa/re/DUand are out of jointכׇּל־עַצְמוֹתָיkol-ats/mo/TAYall my bonesהָיָהha/YAhas becomeלִבִּיlib/BImy heartכַּדּוֹנָגkad/do/NAGlike waxנָמֵסna/MESit is meltedבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongמֵעָי׃me/AYmy inward parts

    I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

    יָבֵשׁya/VESHis dried upכַּחֶרֶשׂka/CHE/reslike earthenwareכֹּחִיko/CHImy strengthוּלְשׁוֹנִיu/le/sho/NIand my tongueמֻדְבָּקmud/BAKcleaves toמַלְקוֹחָיmal/ko/CHAYmy jawsוְלַעֲפַר־מָוֶתve/la/a/FAR-MA/vetand to the dust of deathתִּשְׁפְּתֵנִי׃tish/pe/TE/niYou lay me down

    My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

    כִּיkiforסְבָבוּנִיse/va/VU/nithey surrounded meכְּלָבִיםke/la/VIMdogsעֲדַתa/DATa company ofמְרֵעִיםme/re/IMevildoersהִקִּיפוּנִיhik/ki/FU/nithey have encircled meכָּאֲרִיka/a/RIlike a lionיָדַיya/DAYmy handsוְרַגְלָי׃ve/rag/LAYand my feet

    For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

18. 18

    אֲסַפֵּרa/sap/PERI can countכׇּל־עַצְמוֹתָיkol-ats/mo/TAYall my bonesהֵמָּהHEM/matheyיַבִּיטוּyab/BI/tulookיִרְאוּ־בִי׃yir/U-vithey stare at me

    I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

19. 19

    יְחַלְּקוּye/chal/le/KUthey divideבְגָדַיve/ga/DAYmy clothesלָהֶםla/HEMamong themוְעַל־לְבוּשִׁיve/AL-le/vu/SHIand upon my clothingיַפִּילוּyap/PI/luthey castגוֹרָל׃go/RALa lot

    They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

20. 20

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut YouיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאַל־תִּרְחָקal-tir/CHAKdo not be distantאֱיָלוּתִיe/ya/lu/TIO my strengthלְעֶזְרָתִיle/ez/RA/tito my helpחוּשָׁה׃CHU/shamake haste

    But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

21. 21

    הַצִּילָהhats/TSI/ladeliverמֵחֶרֶבme/CHE/revfrom the sword ofנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulמִיַּד־כֶּלֶבmiy/YAD-KE/levfrom the power of the dogיְחִידָתִי׃ye/chi/da/TImy only life

    Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

22. 22

    הוֹשִׁיעֵנִיho/shi/E/nisave meמִפִּיmip/PIfrom the mouth ofאַרְיֵהar/YEa lionוּמִקַּרְנֵיu/mik/kar/NEand from the horns ofרֵמִיםre/MIMwild oxenעֲנִיתָנִי׃a/ni/TA/niYou have answered me

    Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

23. 23

    אֲסַפְּרָהa/sap/pe/RAI will tell ofשִׁמְךָshim/KHAYour nameלְאֶחָיle/e/CHAYto my brothersבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongקָהָלka/HALthe congregationאֲהַלְלֶךָּ׃a/hal/LEK/kaI will praise You

    I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

24. 24

    יִרְאֵיyir/Eyou who fearיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהַלְלוּהוּhal/LU/hupraise Himכׇּל־זֶרַעkol-ZE/raall the seed ofיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobכַּבְּדוּהוּkab/be/DU/huglorify Himוְגוּרוּve/GU/ruand stand in aweמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof Himכׇּל־זֶרַעkol-ZE/raall the seed ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

25. 25

    כִּיkiforלֹא־בָזָהlo-va/ZAHe has not despisedוְלֹאve/LOand notשִׁקַּץshik/KATSabhorredעֱנוּתe/NUTthe affliction ofעָנִיa/NIthe afflictedוְלֹא־הִסְתִּירve/LO-his/TIRnor has He hiddenפָּנָיוpa/NAYVHis faceמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himוּבְשַׁוְּעוֹu/ve/shav/ve/Obut when he criedאֵלָיוe/LAYVto Himשָׁמֵעַ׃sha/ME/aHe heard

    For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

26. 26

    מֵאִתְּךָme/it/te/KHAfrom Youתְּהִלָּתִיte/hil/la/TImy praiseבְּקָהָלbe/ka/HALin the congregationרָבravgreatנְדָרַיne/da/RAYmy vowsאֲשַׁלֵּםa/shal/LEMI will payנֶגֶדNE/gedbeforeיְרֵאָיו׃ye/re/AYVthose who fear Him

    My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

27. 27

    יֹאכְלוּyo/khe/LUshall eatעֲנָוִיםa/na/VIMthe humbleוְיִשְׂבָּעוּve/yis/BA/uand be satisfiedיְהַלְלוּye/hal/LUthey will praiseיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDדֹּרְשָׁיוdor/SHAYVthose who seek Himיְחִיye/CHIlet liveלְבַבְכֶםle/vav/KHEMyour heartלָעַד׃la/ADforever

    The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

28. 28

    יִזְכְּרוּyiz/ke/RUshall rememberוְיָשֻׁבוּve/ya/SHU/vuand turnאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDכׇּל־אַפְסֵי־אָרֶץkol-af/SE-A/retsall the ends of the earthוְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּve/yish/ta/cha/VUand shall worshipלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore Youכׇּל־מִשְׁפְּחוֹתkol-mish/pe/CHOTall families ofגּוֹיִם׃go/YIMnations

    All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

29. 29

    כִּיkiforלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDהַמְּלוּכָהham/me/lu/KHAbelongs the kingdomוּמֹשֵׁלu/mo/SHELand He is rulerבַּגּוֹיִם׃bag/go/YIMover the nations

    For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations.

30. 30

    אָכְלוּa/khe/LUshall eatוַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּvay/yish/ta/cha/VUand worshipכׇּל־דִּשְׁנֵי־אֶרֶץkol-dish/NE-E/retsall the fat ones of the earthלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore Himיִכְרְעוּyikh/re/Uthey will bow downכׇּל־יוֹרְדֵיkol-yor/DEall who go downעָפָרa/FARto the dustוְנַפְשׁוֹve/naf/SHOand his soulלֹאlonotחִיָּה׃chiy/YAhe has kept alive

    All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

31. 31

    זֶרַעZE/raa seedיַעַבְדֶנּוּya/av/DEN/nushall serve Himיְסֻפַּרye/sup/PARit shall be toldלַאדֹנָיla/do/NAYto the Lordלַדּוֹר׃lad/DORto the generation

    A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

32. 32

    יָבֹאוּya/VO/uthey shall comeוְיַגִּידוּve/yag/GI/duso they may tellצִדְקָתוֹtsid/ka/TOHis righteousnessלְעַםle/AMa peopleנוֹלָדno/LADyet to be bornכִּיkithatעָשָׂה׃a/SAHe has done it

    They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
