Psalms 21 תְּהִלִּים פרק כ״א

   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianמִזְמוֹרa psalmלְדָוִד׃of David

   To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

2. 2

   יְהֹוָהO LORDבְּעׇזְּךָin Your strengthיִשְׂמַח־מֶלֶךְthe king rejoicesוּבִישׁוּעָתְךָand in Your salvationמַה־[יָּגֶל]how he rejoices(יגיל)מְאֹד׃exceedingly

   The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

3. 3

   תַּאֲוַתdesire ofלִבּוֹhis heartנָתַתָּהYou have givenלּוֹto himוַאֲרֶשֶׁתand the request ofשְׂפָתָיוhis lipsבַּל־מָנַעְתָּYou have not withheldסֶּלָה׃Selah

   Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

   כִּי־תְקַדְּמֶנּוּfor You meet himבִּרְכוֹתblessings ofטוֹבgoodnessתָּשִׁיתYou setלְרֹאשׁוֹon his headעֲטֶרֶתcrown ofפָּז׃pure gold

   For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

   חַיִּיםlifeשָׁאַלhe askedמִמְּךָof YouנָתַתָּהYou gaveלּוֹto himאֹרֶךְthe length ofיָמִיםdaysעוֹלָםforeverוָעֶד׃and ever

   He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

   גָּדוֹלgreat isכְּבוֹדוֹhis gloryבִּישׁוּעָתֶךָin Your salvationהוֹדsplendorוְהָדָרand honorתְּשַׁוֶּהYou layעָלָיו׃upon him

   His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

7. 7

   כִּי־תְשִׁיתֵהוּfor You make himבְרָכוֹתblessingsלָעַדforeverתְּחַדֵּהוּYou make him gladבְשִׂמְחָהin joyאֶת־פָּנֶיךָ׃with Your presence

   For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

8. 8

   כִּי־הַמֶּלֶךְbecause the kingבֹּטֵחַtrustsבַּיהֹוָהin the LORDוּבְחֶסֶדand through the mercy ofעֶלְיוֹןthe Most Highבַּל־יִמּוֹט׃he shall not be moved

   For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

9. 9

   תִּמְצָאshall find outיָדְךָYour handלְכׇל־אֹיְבֶיךָall Your enemiesיְמִינְךָYour right handתִּמְצָאshall find outשֹׂנְאֶיךָ׃those who hate You

   Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

10. 10

    תְּשִׁיתֵמוֹYou will make themכְּתַנּוּרlike a furnace ofאֵשׁfireלְעֵתat the time ofפָּנֶיךָYour presenceיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּאַפּוֹin His angerיְבַלְּעֵםHe will swallow them upוְתֹאכְלֵםand it will consume themאֵשׁ׃fire

    Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

11. 11

    פִּרְיָמוֹtheir descendantsמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofתְּאַבֵּדYou will destroyוְזַרְעָםand their seedמִבְּנֵיfrom among the sons ofאָדָם׃man

    Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

12. 12

    כִּי־נָטוּfor they intendedעָלֶיךָagainst Youרָעָהevilחָשְׁבוּthey devisedמְזִמָּהa plotבַּל־יוּכָלוּ׃they shall not prevail

    For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

13. 13

    כִּיforתְּשִׁיתֵמוֹYou will make themשֶׁכֶםa backבְּמֵיתָרֶיךָwith Your bowstringsתְּכוֹנֵןYou will aimעַל־פְּנֵיהֶם׃against their faces

    Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

14. 14

    רוּמָהbe exaltedיְהֹוָהO LORDבְּעֻזֶּךָin Your strengthנָשִׁירָהwe will singוּנְזַמְּרָהand we will sing praisesגְּבוּרָתֶךָ׃Your might

    Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
