Psalms 2 תְּהִלִּים פרק ב׳

1. 1

   לָמָּהwhyרָגְשׁוּrageגוֹיִםthe nationsוּלְאֻמִּיםand the peoplesיֶהְגּוּ־רִיק׃plot a vain thing

   Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2. 2

   יִתְיַצְּבוּset themselvesמַלְכֵי־אֶרֶץthe kings of the earthוְרוֹזְנִיםand the rulersנוֹסְדוּ־יָחַדtake counsel togetherעַל־יְהֹוָהagainst the LORDוְעַל־מְשִׁיחוֹ׃and against His Anointed

   The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

   נְנַתְּקָהlet us breakאֶת־מוֹסְרוֹתֵימוֹtheir bondsוְנַשְׁלִיכָהand cast awayמִמֶּנּוּfrom usעֲבֹתֵימוֹ׃their cords

   Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

   יוֹשֵׁבHe who sitsבַּשָּׁמַיִםin the heavensיִשְׂחָקshall laughאֲדֹנָיthe Lordיִלְעַג־לָמוֹ׃shall mock them

   He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

   אָזthenיְדַבֵּרHe shall speakאֵלֵימוֹto themבְאַפּוֹin His angerוּבַחֲרוֹנוֹand in His furyיְבַהֲלֵמוֹ׃shall He terrify them

   Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

   וַאֲנִיyet Iנָסַכְתִּיhave setמַלְכִּיMy Kingעַל־צִיּוֹןupon Zionהַר־קׇדְשִׁי׃My holy hill

   Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7. 7

   אֲסַפְּרָהI will declareאֶל־חֹקthe decreeיְהֹוָהthe LORDאָמַר־אֵלַיsaid to meבְּנִיMy sonאַתָּהYou areאֲנִיIהַיּוֹםtodayיְלִדְתִּיךָ׃have begotten You

   I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8. 8

   שְׁאַלaskמִמֶּנִּיof Meוְאֶתְּנָהand I will giveגוֹיִםthe nationsנַחֲלָתֶךָfor Your inheritanceוַאֲחֻזָּתְךָand Your possessionאַפְסֵי־אָרֶץ׃the ends of the earth

   Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

   תְּרֹעֵםYou shall break themבְּשֵׁבֶטwith a rod ofבַּרְזֶלironכִּכְלִיlike a vessel ofיוֹצֵרa potterתְּנַפְּצֵם׃You shall dash them in pieces

   Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

    וְעַתָּהand nowמְלָכִיםO kingsהַשְׂכִּילוּbe wiseהִוָּסְרוּbe instructedשֹׁפְטֵיO judges ofאָרֶץ׃the earth

    Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11. 11

    עִבְדוּserveאֶת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּיִרְאָהwith fearוְגִילוּand rejoiceבִּרְעָדָה׃with trembling

    Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12. 12

    נַשְּׁקוּ־בַרkiss the Sonפֶּן־יֶאֱנַףlest He be angryוְתֹאבְדוּand you perishדֶרֶךְin the wayכִּי־יִבְעַרwhen is kindledכִּמְעַטbut a littleאַפּוֹHis wrathאַשְׁרֵיblessed areכׇּל־חוֹסֵיall who put their trustבוֹ׃in Him

    Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
