Psalms 1 תְּהִלִּים פרק א׳

1. 1

   אַשְׁרֵי־הָאִישׁblessed is the manאֲשֶׁרwhoלֹאhas notהָלַךְwalkedבַּעֲצַתin the counsel ofרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedוּבְדֶרֶךְand in the path ofחַטָּאִיםsinnersלֹאnorעָמָדstoodוּבְמוֹשַׁבand in the seat ofלֵצִיםthe scornfulלֹאnorיָשָׁב׃sat

   Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

   כִּיbutאִם־בְּתוֹרַתin the law ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDחֶפְצוֹis his delightוּבְתוֹרָתוֹand in His lawיֶהְגֶּהhe meditatesיוֹמָםdayוָלָיְלָה׃and night

   But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

   וְהָיָהand he shall beכְּעֵץlike a treeשָׁתוּלplantedעַל־פַּלְגֵי־מָיִםby streams of waterאֲשֶׁרwhichפִּרְיוֹits fruitיִתֵּןyieldsבְּעִתּוֹin its seasonוְעָלֵהוּand its leafלֹא־יִבּוֹלdoes not witherוְכֹלand whateverאֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂהhe doesיַצְלִיחַ׃prospers

   And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

   לֹא־כֵןnot soהָרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedכִּיbutאִם־כַּמֹּץlike the chaffאֲשֶׁר־תִּדְּפֶנּוּwhich drives it awayרוּחַ׃the wind

   The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

   עַל־כֵּןthereforeלֹא־יָקֻמוּshall not standרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedבַּמִּשְׁפָּטin the judgmentוְחַטָּאִיםnor sinnersבַּעֲדַתin the congregation ofצַדִּיקִים׃the righteous

   Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6. 6

   כִּי־יוֹדֵעַfor knowsיְהֹוָהthe LORDדֶּרֶךְthe way ofצַדִּיקִיםthe righteousוְדֶרֶךְbut the way ofרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedתֹּאבֵד׃shall perish

   For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
