   A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

   מִלְּפָנֶיךָmil/le/fa/NE/khafrom Your presenceמִשְׁפָּטִיmish/pa/TImy judgmentיֵצֵאye/TSElet go forthעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khaYour eyesתֶּחֱזֶינָהte/che/ZE/nalet them beholdמֵישָׁרִים׃me/sha/RIMequity

   Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

   בָּחַנְתָּba/CHAN/taYou have testedלִבִּיlib/BImy heartפָּקַדְתָּpa/KAD/taYou have visitedלַּיְלָהLAY/lain the nightצְרַפְתַּנִיtse/raf/TA/niYou have tried meבַל־תִּמְצָאval-tim/TSAYou find nothingזַמֹּתִיzam/mo/TII have purposedבַּל־יַעֲבׇר־פִּי׃bal-ya/a/VOR-pithat my mouth shall not transgress

   Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

   לִפְעֻלּוֹתlif/ul/LOTconcerning the works ofאָדָםa/DAMmanבִּדְבַרbid/VARby the word ofשְׂפָתֶיךָse/fa/TE/khaYour lipsאֲנִיa/NIIשָׁמַרְתִּיsha/MAR/tihave kept fromאׇרְחוֹתor/CHOTthe paths ofפָּרִיץ׃pa/RITSthe violent one

   Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

   תָּמֹךְta/MOKHhold fastאֲשֻׁרַיa/shu/RAYmy stepsבְּמַעְגְּלוֹתֶיךָbe/ma/ge/lo/TE/khain Your pathsבַּל־נָמוֹטּוּbal-na/MOT/tuthat may not slipפְעָמָי׃fe/a/MAYmy footsteps

   Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

   אֲנִי־קְרָאתִיךָa/NI-ke/ra/TI/khaI have called upon Youכִי־תַעֲנֵנִיkhi-ta/a/NE/nifor You will answer meאֵלelO Godהַט־אׇזְנְךָhat-oz/ne/KHAincline Your earלִיlito meשְׁמַעshe/MAhearאִמְרָתִי׃im/ra/TImy speech

   I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

   הַפְלֵהhaf/LEshow marvelouslyחֲסָדֶיךָcha/sa/DE/khaYour kindnessesמוֹשִׁיעַmo/SHI/awho savesחוֹסִיםcho/SIMthose who take refugeמִמִּתְקוֹמְמִיםmim/mit/kom/MIMfrom those who rise upבִּימִינֶךָ׃bi/mi/NE/khaby Your right hand

   Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

   שׇׁמְרֵנִיshom/RE/nipreserve meכְּאִישׁוֹןke/i/SHONas the apple ofבַּת־עָיִןbat-A/yinthe eyeבְּצֵלbe/TSELunder the shadow ofכְּנָפֶיךָke/na/FE/khaYour wingsתַּסְתִּירֵנִי׃tas/ti/RE/nihide me

   Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

   מִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedזוּzuwhoשַׁדּוּנִיshad/DU/nidespoil meאֹיְבַיoy/VAYmy enemiesבְּנֶפֶשׁbe/NE/feshagainst my lifeיַקִּיפוּyak/KI/fuwho surroundעָלָי׃a/LAYme

   From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

    חֶלְבָּמוֹchel/BA/motheir fatסָּגְרוּsa/ge/RUthey have closed upפִּימוֹPI/motheir mouthדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUthey speakבְגֵאוּת׃ve/ge/UTproudly

    They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

    אַשֻּׁרֵינוּash/shu/re/NUour stepsעַתָּהat/TAnow(סבבוני)savavavanay[סְבָבוּנוּ]se/va/VU/nuthey have surrounded usעֵינֵיהֶםe/ne/HEMtheir eyesיָשִׁיתוּya/SHI/tuthey have setלִנְטוֹתlin/TOTto bow downבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/A/retsto the earth

    They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

    דִּמְיֹנוֹdim/yo/NOhis likenessכְּאַרְיֵהke/ar/YEas a lionיִכְסוֹףyikh/SOFthat longsלִטְרֹףlit/ROFto tear his preyוְכִכְפִירve/khikh/FIRand like a young lionיֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVlurkingבְּמִסְתָּרִים׃be/mis/ta/RIMin secret places

    Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

    קוּמָהku/MAariseיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDקַדְּמָהkad/de/MAconfrontפָנָיוfa/NAYVhis faceהַכְרִיעֵהוּhakh/ri/E/hucast him downפַּלְּטָהpal/le/TAdeliverנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulמֵרָשָׁעme/ra/SHAfrom the wickedחַרְבֶּךָ׃char/BE/khawith Your sword

    Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

    מִמְתִים־יָדְךָmim/TIM-ya/de/KHAfrom men by Your handיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDמִמְתִיםmim/TIMfrom menמֵחֶלֶדme/CHE/ledof the worldחֶלְקָםchel/KAMwhose portionבַּחַיִּיםba/chay/YIMis in life[וּצְפוּנְךָ]u/tse/fun/KHAand Your treasureתְּמַלֵּאte/mal/LEYou fillבִטְנָםvit/NAMtheir bellyיִשְׂבְּעוּyis/be/Uthey are satisfiedבָנִיםva/NIMwith sonsוְהִנִּיחוּve/hin/NI/chuand leaveיִתְרָםyit/RAMtheir abundanceלְעוֹלְלֵיהֶם׃le/ol/le/HEMfor their babes

    From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

15. 15

    אֲנִיa/NIIבְּצֶדֶקbe/TSE/dekin righteousnessאֶחֱזֶהe/che/ZEI shall seeפָנֶיךָfa/NE/khaYour faceאֶשְׂבְּעָהes/be/AI shall be satisfiedבְהָקִיץve/ha/KITSwhen I awakeתְּמוּנָתֶךָ׃te/mu/na/TE/khawith Your likeness

    As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
