   מִכְתָּםmikh/TAMa miktamלְדָוִדle/Da/VIDof Davidשׇׁמְרֵנִיshom/RE/nipreserve meאֵלelO Godכִּי־חָסִיתִיki-cha/SI/tifor I take refugeבָךְ׃vakhin You

   Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

2. 2

   אָמַרְתְּa/MARTI have saidלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYmy LordאָתָּהAT/taYou areטוֹבָתִיto/va/TImy goodבַּל־עָלֶיךָ׃bal-a/LE/khais not apart from You

   O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

   לִקְדוֹשִׁיםlik/do/SHIMas for the holy onesאֲשֶׁר־בָּאָרֶץa/SHER-ba/A/retswho are on the earthהֵמָּהHEM/mathey areוְאַדִּירֵיve/ad/di/REand the excellent onesכׇּל־חֶפְצִי־בָם׃kol-chef/TSI-vamall my delight is in them

   But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

   יִרְבּוּyir/BUshall be multipliedעַצְּבוֹתָםats/tse/vo/TAMtheir sorrowsאַחֵרa/CHERanother godמָהָרוּma/HA/ruwho hasten afterבַּל־אַסִּיךְbal-as/SIKHI will not pour outנִסְכֵּיהֶםnis/ke/HEMtheir drink offeringsמִדָּםmid/DAMof bloodוּבַל־אֶשָּׂאu/VAL-es/SAnor will I take upאֶת־שְׁמוֹתָםet-she/mo/TAMtheir namesעַל־שְׂפָתָי׃al-se/fa/TAYon my lips

   Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

   יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמְנָת־חֶלְקִיme/NAT-chel/KIthe portion of my inheritanceוְכוֹסִיve/kho/SIand my cupאַתָּהat/TAYouתּוֹמִיךְto/MIKHYou upholdגּוֹרָלִי׃go/ra/LImy lot

   The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

   חֲבָלִיםcha/va/LIMthe linesנָפְלוּ־לִיna/fe/LU-lihave fallen to meבַּנְּעִמִיםban/ne/i/MIMin pleasant placesאַף־נַחֲלָתaf-na/cha/LATyes a heritageשָׁפְרָהsha/fe/RAis beautifulעָלָי׃a/LAYto me

   The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

   אֲבָרֵךְa/va/REKHI will blessאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיְעָצָנִיye/a/TSA/nihas counseled meאַף־לֵילוֹתaf-le/LOTeven in the nightsיִסְּרוּנִיyis/se/RU/niinstruct meכִלְיוֹתָי׃khil/yo/TAYmy kidneys

   I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

8. 8

   שִׁוִּיתִיshiv/VI/tiI have setיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְנֶגְדִּיle/neg/DIbefore meתָמִידta/MIDcontinuallyכִּיkibecauseמִימִינִיmi/mi/NIat my right handבַּל־אֶמּוֹט׃bal-em/MOTI shall not be moved

   I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9. 9

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeשָׂמַחsa/MACHis gladלִבִּיlib/BImy heartוַיָּגֶלvay/YA/geland rejoicesכְּבוֹדִיke/vo/DImy gloryאַף־בְּשָׂרִיaf-be/sa/RIalso my fleshיִשְׁכֹּןyish/KONdwellsלָבֶטַח׃la/VE/tachin safety

   Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

    כִּיkiforלֹא־תַעֲזֹבlo-ta/a/ZOVYou will not leaveנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulלִשְׁאוֹלLish/OLin Sheolלֹא־תִתֵּןlo-tit/TENnor will You allowחֲסִידְךָcha/si/de/KHAYour faithful oneלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeשָׁחַת׃SHA/chatcorruption

    For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

11. 11

    תּוֹדִיעֵנִיto/di/e/NIYou will show meאֹרַחO/rachthe path ofחַיִּיםchay/YIMlifeשֹׂבַעSO/vafullness ofשְׂמָחוֹתse/ma/CHOTjoysאֶת־פָּנֶיךָet-pa/NE/khawith Your presenceנְעִמוֹתne/i/MOTpleasuresבִּימִינְךָbi/mi/ne/KHAat Your right handנֶצַח׃NE/tsachforever

    Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
