1. 1

   הַלְלוּ־יָהּpraise the LORDכִּי־טוֹבfor it is goodזַמְּרָהto sing praises toאֱלֹהֵינוּour Godכִּי־נָעִיםfor it is pleasantנָאוָהis comelyתְהִלָּה׃praise

   Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

2. 2

   בּוֹנֵהbuilds upיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemיְהֹוָהthe LORDנִדְחֵיthe outcasts ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelיְכַנֵּס׃He gathers together

   The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

   הָרֹפֵאHe healsלִשְׁבוּרֵיthe broken ofלֵבheartוּמְחַבֵּשׁand binds upלְעַצְּבוֹתָם׃their wounds

   He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

   מוֹנֶהHe countsמִסְפָּרthe number ofלַכּוֹכָבִיםthe starsלְכֻלָּםto all of themשֵׁמוֹתnamesיִקְרָא׃He gives

   He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5. 5

   גָּדוֹלgreat isאֲדוֹנֵינוּour Lordוְרַב־כֹּחַand of great powerלִתְבוּנָתוֹHis understandingאֵיןthere is noמִסְפָּר׃number

   Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

6. 6

   מְעוֹדֵדlifts upעֲנָוִיםthe meekיְהֹוָהthe LORDמַשְׁפִּילHe casts downרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedעֲדֵי־אָרֶץ׃to the ground

   The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

   עֱנוּsingלַיהֹוָהto the LORDבְּתוֹדָהwith thanksgivingזַמְּרוּsing praisesלֵאלֹהֵינוּto our Godבְכִנּוֹר׃with a harp

   Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

   הַמְכַסֶּהwho coversשָׁמַיִםthe heavensבְּעָבִיםwith cloudsהַמֵּכִיןwho preparesלָאָרֶץfor the earthמָטָרrainהַמַּצְמִיחַwho makes to growהָרִיםupon the mountainsחָצִיר׃grass

   Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

   נוֹתֵןHe givesלִבְהֵמָהto the beastלַחְמָהּits foodלִבְנֵיto the young ofעֹרֵבthe ravenאֲשֶׁרwhichיִקְרָאוּ׃cry

   He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10. 10

    לֹאnotבִגְבוּרַתin the strength ofהַסּוּסthe horseיֶחְפָּץHe delightsלֹא־בְשׁוֹקֵיnor in the legs ofהָאִישׁa manיִרְצֶה׃has He pleasure

    He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11. 11

    רוֹצֶהtakes pleasureיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־יְרֵאָיוin those who fear Himאֶת־הַמְיַחֲלִיםin those who hopeלְחַסְדּוֹ׃for His mercy

    The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12. 12

    שַׁבְּחִיpraiseיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםO Jerusalemאֶת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDהַלְלִיpraiseאֱלֹהַיִךְyour Godצִיּוֹן׃O Zion

    Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13. 13

    כִּי־חִזַּקfor He has strengthenedבְּרִיחֵיthe bars ofשְׁעָרָיִךְyour gatesבֵּרַךְHe has blessedבָּנַיִךְyour childrenבְּקִרְבֵּךְ׃in your midst

    For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14. 14

    הַשָּׂם־גְּבוּלֵךְHe makes your bordersשָׁלוֹםpeaceחֵלֶבwith the finest ofחִטִּיםwheatיַשְׂבִּיעֵךְ׃He fills you

    He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

15. 15

    הַשֹּׁלֵחַHe sends forthאִמְרָתוֹHis commandmentאָרֶץupon the earthעַד־מְהֵרָהvery swiftlyיָרוּץrunsדְּבָרוֹ׃His word

    He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16. 16

    הַנֹּתֵןHe givesשֶׁלֶגsnowכַּצָּמֶרlike woolכְּפוֹרthe hoar frostכָּאֵפֶרlike ashesיְפַזֵּר׃He scatters

    He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17. 17

    מַשְׁלִיךְHe casts forthקַרְחוֹHis iceכְפִתִּיםlike crumbsלִפְנֵיbeforeקָרָתוֹHis coldמִיwhoיַעֲמֹד׃can stand

    He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18. 18

    יִשְׁלַחHe sends outדְּבָרוֹHis wordוְיַמְסֵםand melts themיַשֵּׁבHe causes to blowרוּחוֹHis windיִזְּלוּ־מָיִם׃the waters flow

    He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19. 19

    מַגִּידHe declaresדְּבָרָוHis wordלְיַעֲקֹבto JacobחֻקָּיוHis statutesוּמִשְׁפָּטָיוand His judgmentsלְיִשְׂרָאֵל׃to Israel

    He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

20. 20

    לֹא־עָשָׂהHe has not dealtכֵןsoלְכׇל־גּוֹיwith any nationוּמִשְׁפָּטִיםand as for His judgmentsבַּל־יְדָעוּםthey have not known themהַלְלוּ־יָהּ׃praise the LORD

    He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
