   הַלְלוּ־יָהּpraise the LORDהַלְלִיpraiseנַפְשִׁיO my soulאֶת־יְהֹוָה׃the LORD

   Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

2. 2

   אֲהַלְלָהI will praiseיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּחַיָּיwhile I liveאֲזַמְּרָהI will sing praisesלֵאלֹהַיto my Godבְּעוֹדִי׃while I have any being

   While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

   אַל־תִּבְטְחוּput not your trustבִנְדִיבִיםin princesבְּבֶן־אָדָםnor in the son of manשֶׁאֵיןin whom there is noלוֹto himתְשׁוּעָה׃help

   Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

   תֵּצֵאgoes forthרוּחוֹhis breathיָשֻׁבhe returnsלְאַדְמָתוֹto his earthבַּיּוֹםin the dayהַהוּאthat veryאָבְדוּperishעֶשְׁתֹּנֹתָיו׃his thoughts

   His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

   אַשְׁרֵיhappy is heשֶׁאֵלwho has the God ofיַעֲקֹבJacobבְּעֶזְרוֹfor his helpשִׂבְרוֹwhose hope isעַל־יְהֹוָהupon the LORDאֱלֹהָיו׃his God

   Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

   עֹשֶׂהwho madeשָׁמַיִםthe heavensוָאָרֶץand earthאֶת־הַיָּםthe seaוְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּםand all that is in themהַשֹּׁמֵרwho keepsאֱמֶתtruthלְעוֹלָם׃forever

   Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:

   עֹשֶׂהwho executesמִשְׁפָּטjudgmentלָעֲשׁוּקִיםfor the oppressedנֹתֵןwho givesלֶחֶםbreadלָרְעֵבִיםto the hungryיְהֹוָהthe LORDמַתִּירloosesאֲסוּרִים׃the prisoners

   Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:

   יְהֹוָהthe LORDפֹּקֵחַopens the eyes ofעִוְרִיםthe blindיְהֹוָהthe LORDזֹקֵףraises upכְּפוּפִיםthose who are bowed downיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֹהֵבlovesצַדִּיקִים׃the righteous

   The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:

9. 9

   יְהֹוָהthe LORDשֹׁמֵרpreservesאֶת־גֵּרִיםthe strangersיָתוֹםthe fatherlessוְאַלְמָנָהand widowיְעוֹדֵדHe relievesוְדֶרֶךְand the way ofרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedיְעַוֵּת׃He turns upside down

   The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

10. 10

    יִמְלֹךְshall reignיְהֹוָהthe LORDלְעוֹלָםforeverאֱלֹהַיִךְyour GodצִיּוֹןO Zionלְדֹרto generationוָדֹרand generationהַלְלוּ־יָהּ׃praise the LORD

    The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.
