   A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:

   חַסְדִּיchas/DImy kindnessוּמְצוּדָתִיu/me/tsu/da/TIand my fortressמִשְׂגַּבִּיmis/gab/BImy high towerוּמְפַלְטִי־לִיu/me/fal/TI-liand my delivererמָגִנִּיma/gin/NImy shieldוּבוֹu/VOand in Himחָסִיתִיcha/SI/tiI take refugeהָרוֹדֵדha/ro/DEDwho subduesעַמִּיam/MImy peopleתַחְתָּי׃tach/TAYunder me

   My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

   יְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDמָה־אָדָםma-a/DAMwhat is manוַתֵּדָעֵהוּvat/te/da/E/huthat You know himבֶּן־אֱנוֹשׁben-e/NOSHthe son of manוַתְּחַשְּׁבֵהוּ׃vat/te/chash/she/VE/huthat You think of him

   LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

   אָדָםa/DAMmanלַהֶבֶלla/HE/vela breathדָּמָהda/MAis likeיָמָיוya/MAYVhis days areכְּצֵלke/TSELas a shadowעוֹבֵר׃o/VERpassing

   Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.

   יְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDהַט־שָׁמֶיךָhat-sha/ME/khabow Your heavensוְתֵרֵדve/te/REDand come downגַּעgatouchבֶּהָרִיםbe/ha/RIMthe mountainsוְיֶעֱשָׁנוּ׃ve/ye/e/SHA/nuthat they smoke

   Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

   בְּרוֹקbe/ROKflashבָּרָקba/RAKlightningוּתְפִיצֵםu/te/fi/TSEMand scatter themשְׁלַחshe/LACHsend outחִצֶּיךָchits/TSE/khaYour arrowsוּתְהֻמֵּם׃u/te/hum/MEMand rout them

   Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.

   שְׁלַחshe/LACHstretch outיָדֶיךָya/DE/khaYour handsמִמָּרוֹםmim/ma/ROMfrom aboveפְּצֵנִיpe/TSE/niset me freeוְהַצִּילֵנִיve/hats/tsi/LE/niand deliver meמִמַּיִםmim/MA/yimout of watersרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofנֵכָר׃ne/KHARforeigners

   Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseפִּיהֶםpi/HEMmouthדִּבֶּר־שָׁוְאdib/BER-shavspeaks falsehoodוִימִינָםvi/mi/NAMand their right hand isיְמִיןye/MINa right hand ofשָׁקֶר׃SHA/kerfalsehood

   Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

   אֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMO Godשִׁירshira songחָדָשׁcha/DASHnewאָשִׁירָהa/SHI/raI will singלָּךְlakhto Youבְּנֵבֶלbe/NE/velwith a harp ofעָשׂוֹרa/SORten stringsאֲזַמְּרָה־לָּךְ׃a/zam/me/RA-lakhwill I sing praises to You

   I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

    הַנּוֹתֵןhan/no/TENwho givesתְּשׁוּעָהte/shu/Asalvationלַמְּלָכִיםlam/me/la/KHIMto kingsהַפּוֹצֶהhap/po/TSEwho sets freeאֶת־דָּוִדet-Da/VIDDavidעַבְדּוֹav/DOHis servantמֵחֶרֶבme/CHE/revfrom the sword ofרָעָה׃ra/Aevil

    It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.

    פְּצֵנִיpe/TSE/niset me freeוְהַצִּילֵנִיve/hats/tsi/LE/niand deliver meמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofבְּנֵי־נֵכָרbe/NE-ne/KHARforeignersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseפִּיהֶםpi/HEMmouthדִּבֶּר־שָׁוְאdib/BER-shavspeaks falsehoodוִימִינָםvi/mi/NAMand their right hand isיְמִיןye/MINa right hand ofשָׁקֶר׃SHA/kerfalsehood

    Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERso thatבָּנֵינוּba/NE/nuour sons areכִּנְטִעִיםkin/ti/IMas plantsמְגֻדָּלִיםme/gud/da/LIMgrown upבִּנְעוּרֵיהֶםbin/u/re/HEMin their youthבְּנוֹתֵינוּbe/no/TE/nuour daughtersכְזָוִיֹּתkhe/za/viy/YOTas corner pillarsמְחֻטָּבוֹתme/chut/ta/VOTcarvedתַּבְנִיתtav/NITafter the fashion ofהֵיכָל׃he/KHALa palace

    That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

    מְזָוֵינוּme/za/VE/nuour barnsמְלֵאִיםme/le/IMare fullמְפִיקִיםme/fi/KIMsupplyingמִזַּןmiz/ZANfrom kindאֶל־זַןel-zanto kindצֹאונֵנוּtso/NE/nuour flocksמַאֲלִיפוֹתma/a/li/FOTbringing forth thousandsמְרֻבָּבוֹתme/rub/ba/VOTand ten thousandsבְּחוּצוֹתֵינוּ׃be/chu/tso/TE/nuin our fields

    That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:

    אַלּוּפֵינוּal/lu/FE/nuour oxenמְסֻבָּלִיםme/sub/ba/LIMheavy ladenאֵין־פֶּרֶץen-PE/retsthere is no breachוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noיוֹצֵאתyo/TSETgoing outוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noצְוָחָהtse/va/CHAoutcryבִּרְחֹבֹתֵינוּ׃bir/cho/vo/TE/nuin our streets

    That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.

    אַשְׁרֵיash/REblessed isהָעָםha/AMthe peopleשֶׁכָּכָהshek/KA/khafor whom it is soלּוֹlowith itאַשְׁרֵיash/REblessed isהָעָםha/AMthe peopleשֱׁיְהֹוָהshe/ye/ho/VAwhose the LORDאֱלֹהָיו׃e/lo/HAYVis God

    Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
