   לְדָוִדof Davidבָּרוּךְblessed beיְהֹוָהthe LORDצוּרִיmy rockהַמְלַמֵּדwho teachesיָדַיmy handsלַקְרָבto warאֶצְבְּעוֹתַיmy fingersלַמִּלְחָמָה׃to fight

   A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:

   חַסְדִּיmy lovingkindnessוּמְצוּדָתִיand my fortressמִשְׂגַּבִּיmy high towerוּמְפַלְטִי־לִיand my delivererמָגִנִּיmy shieldוּבוֹand in HimחָסִיתִיI put my trustהָרוֹדֵדwho subduesעַמִּיmy peopleתַחְתָּי׃under me

   My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

   יְהֹוָהO LORDמָה־אָדָםwhat is manוַתֵּדָעֵהוּthat You take knowledge of himבֶּן־אֱנוֹשׁor the son of manוַתְּחַשְּׁבֵהוּ׃that You make account of him

   LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

   אָדָםman isלַהֶבֶלto a breathדָּמָהis likeיָמָיוhis daysכְּצֵלas a shadowעוֹבֵר׃that passes away

   Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.

   יְהֹוָהO LORDהַט־שָׁמֶיךָbow Your heavensוְתֵרֵדand come downגַּעtouchבֶּהָרִיםthe mountainsוְיֶעֱשָׁנוּ׃and they shall smoke

   Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

   בְּרוֹקcast forthבָּרָקlightningוּתְפִיצֵםand scatter themשְׁלַחshoot outחִצֶּיךָYour arrowsוּתְהֻמֵּם׃and rout them

   Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.

   שְׁלַחstretch forthיָדֶיךָYour handsמִמָּרוֹםfrom aboveפְּצֵנִיrescue meוְהַצִּילֵנִיand deliver meמִמַּיִםout of watersרַבִּיםmanyמִיַּדfrom the hand ofבְּנֵיthe children ofנֵכָר׃the stranger

   Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;

   אֲשֶׁרwhichפִּיהֶםtheir mouthדִּבֶּר־שָׁוְאspeaks vanityוִימִינָםand whose right handיְמִיןa right hand ofשָׁקֶר׃falsehood

   Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

   אֱלֹהִיםO Godשִׁירa songחָדָשׁnewאָשִׁירָהI will singלָּךְto Youבְּנֵבֶלupon a lyre ofעָשׂוֹרten stringsאֲזַמְּרָה־לָּךְ׃will I sing praises to You

   I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

    הַנּוֹתֵןit is He who givesתְּשׁוּעָהsalvationלַמְּלָכִיםto kingsהַפּוֹצֶהwho rescuesאֶת־דָּוִדDavidעַבְדּוֹHis servantמֵחֶרֶבfrom the sword ofרָעָה׃the evil

    It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.

    פְּצֵנִיrescue meוְהַצִּילֵנִיand deliver meמִיַּדfrom the hand ofבְּנֵי־נֵכָרthe children of the strangerאֲשֶׁרwhichפִּיהֶםtheir mouthדִּבֶּר־שָׁוְאspeaks vanityוִימִינָםand whose right handיְמִיןa right hand ofשָׁקֶר׃falsehood

    Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

    אֲשֶׁרwhichבָּנֵינוּour sonsכִּנְטִעִיםas plantsמְגֻדָּלִיםgrown upבִּנְעוּרֵיהֶםin their youthבְּנוֹתֵינוּour daughtersכְזָוִיֹּתas corner pillarsמְחֻטָּבוֹתcarvedתַּבְנִיתafter the fashion ofהֵיכׇל׃a palace

    That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

13. 13

    מְזָוֵינוּour granariesמְלֵאִיםare fullמְפִיקִיםaffordingמִזַּןall manner ofאֶל־זַןstoreצֹאונֵנוּour flocksמַאֲלִיפוֹתbringing forth thousandsמְרֻבָּבוֹתand ten thousandsבְּחוּצוֹתֵינוּ׃in our fields

    That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:

14. 14

    אַלּוּפֵינוּour oxenמְסֻבָּלִיםwell ladenאֵין־פֶּרֶץthere is no breachוְאֵיןand there is noיוֹצֵאתgoing forthוְאֵיןand there is noצְוָחָהoutcryבִּרְחֹבֹתֵינוּ׃in our streets

    That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.

15. 15

    אַשְׁרֵיhappy isהָעָםthe peopleשֶׁכָּכָהthat is in such a caseלּוֹto himאַשְׁרֵיhappy isהָעָםthe peopleשֱׁיְהֹוָהwhose the LORDאֱלֹהָיו׃is his God

    Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
