   To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

   יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִשָּׁמַיִםmish/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenהִשְׁקִיףhish/KIFlooks downעַל־בְּנֵי־אָדָםal-be/NE-a/DAMupon the sons of menלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeהֲיֵשׁha/YESHis thereמַשְׂכִּילmas/KILany who understandsדֹּרֵשׁdo/RESHwho seeksאֶת־אֱלֹהִים׃et-e/lo/HIMGod

   The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

   הַכֹּלhak/KOLallסָרsarhas turned asideיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherנֶאֱלָחוּne/e/LA/chuthey have become foulאֵיןenthere is noneעֹשֵׂה־טוֹבo/SE-tovwho does goodאֵיןenthere is noneגַּם־אֶחָד׃gam-e/CHADnot even one

   They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

   הֲלֹאha/LOdo notיָדְעוּya/de/Uthey knowכׇּל־פֹּעֲלֵיkol-PO/a/leall workers ofאָוֶןA/veniniquityאֹכְלֵיokh/LEwho eat upעַמִּיam/MImy peopleאָכְלוּa/khe/LUas they eatלֶחֶםLE/chembreadיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֹאlonotקָרָאוּ׃ka/RA/uthey call

   Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

   שָׁםshamthereפָּחֲדוּpa/cha/DUthey were in fearפָחַדFA/chada fearכִּי־אֱלֹהִיםki-e/lo/HIMbecause Godבְּדוֹרbe/DORin the generation ofצַדִּיק׃tsad/DIKthe righteous

   There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

   עֲצַת־עָנִיa/TSAT-a/NIthe counsel of the poorתָבִישׁוּta/VI/shuyou would put to shameכִּיkibecauseיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמַחְסֵהוּ׃mach/SE/huis his refuge

   Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.

   מִי־יִתֵּןmi-yit/TENwould thatמִצִּיּוֹןmits/Tsiy/YONout of Zionיְשׁוּעַתye/shu/ATthe salvation ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבְּשׁוּבbe/SHUVwhen brings backיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDשְׁבוּתshe/VUTthe captivity ofעַמּוֹam/MOHis peopleיָגֵלya/GELshall rejoiceיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobיִשְׂמַחyis/MACHshall be gladיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
