   שִׁירa songהַמַּעֲלוֹתof ascentsזְכוֹר־יְהֹוָהLORD rememberלְדָוִדfor Davidאֵת־כׇּל־עֻנּוֹתוֹ׃all his affliction

   A Song of degrees. LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions:

   אֲשֶׁרwhichנִשְׁבַּעhe sworeלַיהֹוָהto the LORDנָדַרhe vowedלַאֲבִירto the Mighty One ofיַעֲקֹב׃Jacob

   How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;

   אִם־אָבֹאsurely I will not comeבְּאֹהֶלinto the tent ofבֵּיתִיmy houseאִם־אֶעֱלֶהnor go upעַל־עֶרֶשׂonto the couch ofיְצוּעָי׃my bed

   Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;

   אִם־אֶתֵּןI will not giveשְׁנַתsleep toלְעֵינָיmy eyesלְעַפְעַפַּיto my eyelidsתְּנוּמָה׃slumber

   I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,

   עַד־אֶמְצָאuntil I might findמָקוֹםa placeלַיהֹוָהto the LORDמִשְׁכָּנוֹתa dwelling place forלַאֲבִירthe Mighty One ofיַעֲקֹב׃Jacob

   Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

   הִנֵּה־שְׁמַעֲנוּהָbehold we heard of itבְאֶפְרָתָהin Ephratahמְצָאנוּהָwe found itבִּשְׂדֵי־יָעַר׃in the fields of the wood

   Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

   נָבוֹאָהlet us enterלְמִשְׁכְּנוֹתָיוinto His tabernaclesנִשְׁתַּחֲוֶהlet us worshipלַהֲדֹםat the footstool ofרַגְלָיו׃His feet

   We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.

   קוּמָהariseיְהֹוָהO LORDלִמְנוּחָתֶךָto Your resting placeאַתָּהYouוַאֲרוֹןand the ark ofעֻזֶּךָ׃Your strength

   Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

9. 9

   כֹּהֲנֶיךָYour priestsיִלְבְּשׁוּ־צֶדֶקlet be clothed with righteousnessוַחֲסִידֶיךָand let Your pious onesיְרַנֵּנוּ׃shout for joy

   Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

    בַּעֲבוּרfor the sake ofדָּוִדDavidעַבְדֶּךָYour servantאַל־תָּשֵׁבturn not awayפְּנֵיthe face ofמְשִׁיחֶךָ׃Your anointed

    For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.

11. 11

    נִשְׁבַּע־יְהֹוָהthe LORD has swornלְדָוִדto Davidאֱמֶתin truthלֹא־יָשׁוּבHe will not turnמִמֶּנָּהfrom itמִפְּרִיof the fruit ofבִטְנְךָyour bodyאָשִׁיתI will setלְכִסֵּא־לָךְ׃upon your throne

    The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

12. 12

    אִם־יִשְׁמְרוּif will keepבָנֶיךָyour childrenבְּרִיתִיMy covenantוְעֵדֹתִיand My testimonyזוֹthatאֲלַמְּדֵםI shall teach themגַּם־בְּנֵיהֶםtheir children alsoעֲדֵי־עַדfor evermoreיֵשְׁבוּshall sitלְכִסֵּא־לָךְ׃upon your throne

    If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.

13. 13

    כִּי־בָחַרfor has chosenיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּצִיּוֹןin ZionאִוָּהּHe has desired itלְמוֹשָׁבfor His habitationלוֹ׃for Himself

    For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

14. 14

    זֹאת־מְנוּחָתִיthis is My restעֲדֵי־עַדfor everפֹּה־אֵשֵׁבhere will I dwellכִּיforאִוִּתִיהָ׃I have desired it

    This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

15. 15

    צֵידָהּher provisionבָּרֵךְabundantlyאֲבָרֵךְI will blessאֶבְיוֹנֶיהָher poorאַשְׂבִּיעַI will satisfyלָחֶם׃with bread

    I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

16. 16

    וְכֹהֲנֶיהָand her priestsאַלְבִּישׁI will clotheיֶשַׁעwith salvationוַחֲסִידֶיהָand her pious onesרַנֵּןshall aloudיְרַנֵּנוּ׃shout for joy

    I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

17. 17

    שָׁםthereאַצְמִיחַwill I make to sproutקֶרֶןa horn forלְדָוִדDavidעָרַכְתִּיI have ordainedנֵרa lampלִמְשִׁיחִי׃for My anointed

    There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.

18. 18

    אוֹיְבָיוhis enemiesאַלְבִּישׁI will clotheבֹּשֶׁתwith shameוְעָלָיוbut upon himselfיָצִיץshall flourishנִזְרוֹ׃his crown

    His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
