   שִׁירa songהַמַּעֲלוֹתof ascentsמִמַּעֲמַקִּיםfrom the depthsקְרָאתִיךָI have cried to Youיְהֹוָה׃O LORD

   A Song of degrees. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.

2. 2

   אֲדֹנָיO Lordשִׁמְעָהhearkenבְקוֹלִיto my voiceתִּהְיֶינָהlet beאׇזְנֶיךָYour earsקַשֻּׁבוֹתattentiveלְקוֹלto the voice ofתַּחֲנוּנָי׃my supplications

   Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

   אִם־עֲוֺנוֹתif iniquitiesתִּשְׁמׇר־יָהּYou should mark O LORDאֲדֹנָיO Lordמִיwhoיַעֲמֹד׃could stand

   If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

   כִּי־עִמְּךָbut with Youהַסְּלִיחָהthe forgivenessלְמַעַןthatתִּוָּרֵא׃You may be feared

   But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

   קִוִּיתִיI wait forיְהֹוָהthe LORDקִוְּתָהdoes waitנַפְשִׁיmy soulוְלִדְבָרוֹand in His wordהוֹחָלְתִּי׃do I hope

   I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

   נַפְשִׁיmy soulלַאדֹנָיwaits for the Lordמִשֹּׁמְרִיםmore than watchmenלַבֹּקֶרfor the morningשֹׁמְרִיםwatchmenלַבֹּקֶר׃for the morning

   My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

   יַחֵלlet hopeיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelאֶל־יְהֹוָהin the LORDכִּי־עִם־יְהֹוָהfor with the LORDהַחֶסֶדthere is mercyוְהַרְבֵּהand abundantעִמּוֹwith Himפְדוּת׃redemption

   Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

   וְהוּאand Heיִפְדֶּהshall redeemאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelמִכֹּלfrom allעֲוֺנֹתָיו׃his iniquities

   And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
