A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

אָזazthenיִמָּלֵאyim/MA/lewas filledשְׂחוֹקse/CHOKwith laughterפִּינוּpi/NUour mouthוּלְשׁוֹנֵנוּu/le/sho/NE/nuand our tongueרִנָּהrin/NAwith singingאָזazthenיֹאמְרוּyo/me/RUthey saidבַגּוֹיִםvag/go/YIMamong the nationsהִגְדִּילhig/DILhas done great thingsיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doעִם־אֵלֶּה׃im-EL/lefor these
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.

הִגְדִּילhig/DILhas done great thingsיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doעִמָּנוּim/MA/nufor usהָיִינוּha/YI/nuwe areשְׂמֵחִים׃se/me/CHIMglad
The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

שׁוּבָהshu/VAbring backיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDאֶת־[שְׁבִיתֵנוּ]et-she/vi/TE/nuour captivityכַּאֲפִיקִיםka/a/fi/KIMlike streamsבַּנֶּגֶב׃ban/NE/gevin the Negev
Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

הַזֹּרְעִיםhaz/zor/IMthose who sowבְּדִמְעָהbe/dim/Awith tearsבְּרִנָּהbe/rin/NAwith singingיִקְצֹרוּ׃yik/TSO/rushall reap
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

הָלוֹךְha/LOKHgoיֵלֵךְye/LEKHhe goesוּבָכֹהu/va/KHOand weepingנֹשֵׂאno/SEbearingמֶשֶׁךְ־הַזָּרַעME/shekh-haz/ZA/raa bag of seedבֹּא־יָבֹאbo-ya/VOcome he shall comeבְרִנָּהve/rin/NAwith rejoicingנֹשֵׂאno/SEbearingאֲלֻמֹּתָיו׃a/lum/mo/TAYVhis sheaves
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
