   שִׁירa songהַמַּעֲלוֹתof ascentsבְּשׁוּבwhen brought backיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־שִׁיבַתthe captivity ofצִיּוֹןZionהָיִינוּwe wereכְּחֹלְמִים׃like those who dream

   A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

   אָזthenיִמָּלֵאwas filledשְׂחוֹקwith laughterפִּינוּour mouthוּלְשׁוֹנֵנוּand our tongueרִנָּהwith singingאָזthenיֹאמְרוּthey saidבַגּוֹיִםamong the nationsהִגְדִּילhas done great thingsיְהֹוָהthe LORDלַעֲשׂוֹתin doingעִם־אֵלֶּה׃for these

   Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.

   הִגְדִּילhas done great thingsיְהֹוָהthe LORDלַעֲשׂוֹתin doingעִמָּנוּfor usהָיִינוּwhereof we areשְׂמֵחִים׃glad

   The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

   שׁוּבָהbring backיְהֹוָהO LORDאֶת־[שְׁבִיתֵנוּ]our captivityכַּאֲפִיקִיםas the streamsבַּנֶּגֶב׃in the south

   Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

   הַזֹּרְעִיםthose who sowבְּדִמְעָהwith tearsבְּרִנָּהwith singingיִקְצֹרוּ׃shall reap

   They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

   הָלוֹךְgoingיֵלֵךְhe goes forthוּבָכֹהand weepingנֹשֵׂאbearingמֶשֶׁךְ־הַזָּרַעa bag of seedבֹּא־יָבֹאshall doubtless comeבְרִנָּהwith rejoicingנֹשֵׂאbearingאֲלֻמֹּתָיו׃his sheaves

   He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
