1. 1

   שִׁירa songהַמַּעֲלוֹתof ascentsהַבֹּטְחִיםthose who trustבַּיהֹוָהin the LORDכְּהַר־צִיּוֹןare like the mountain of Zionלֹא־יִמּוֹטwhich cannot be movedלְעוֹלָםforeverיֵשֵׁב׃but abides

   A Song of degrees. They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

2. 2

   יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemהָרִיםthe mountains areסָבִיבround aboutלָהּherוַיהֹוָהand the LORDסָבִיבround aboutלְעַמּוֹHis peopleמֵעַתָּהfrom this timeוְעַד־עוֹלָם׃and forever

   As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

   כִּיforלֹאnotיָנוּחַshall restשֵׁבֶטthe rod ofהָרֶשַׁעwickednessעַלuponגּוֹרַלthe lot ofהַצַּדִּיקִיםthe righteousלְמַעַןlestלֹא־יִשְׁלְחוּput forth notהַצַּדִּיקִיםthe righteousבְּעַוְלָתָהto iniquityיְדֵיהֶם׃their hands

   For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

   הֵיטִיבָהdo goodיְהֹוָהO LORDלַטּוֹבִיםto those who are goodוְלִישָׁרִיםand to those who are uprightבְּלִבּוֹתָם׃in their hearts

   Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

   וְהַמַּטִּיםbut those who turn aside toעֲקַלְקַלּוֹתָםtheir crooked waysיוֹלִיכֵםshall lead them awayיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־פֹּעֲלֵיwith the workers ofהָאָוֶןiniquityשָׁלוֹםpeace shall beעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃upon Israel

   As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.
