   שִׁירa songלַמַּעֲלוֹתof the ascentsאֶשָּׂאI will lift upעֵינַיmy eyesאֶל־הֶהָרִיםto the hillsמֵאַיִןfrom whenceיָבֹאcomesעֶזְרִי׃my help

   A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2. 2

   עֶזְרִיmy helpמֵעִםcomes fromיְהֹוָהthe LORDעֹשֵׂהwho madeשָׁמַיִםthe heavensוָאָרֶץ׃and earth

   My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

   אַל־יִתֵּןHe will not sufferלַמּוֹטto be movedרַגְלֶךָyour footאַל־יָנוּםwill not slumberשֹׁמְרֶךָ׃He who keeps you

   He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

   הִנֵּהbeholdלֹא־יָנוּםshall neither slumberוְלֹאand notיִישָׁןsleepשׁוֹמֵרHe who keepsיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

   Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

   יְהֹוָהthe LORDשֹׁמְרֶךָis your keeperיְהֹוָהthe LORDצִלְּךָis your shadeעַל־יַדuponיְמִינֶךָ׃your right hand

   The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6. 6

   יוֹמָםby dayהַשֶּׁמֶשׁthe sunלֹא־יַכֶּכָּהshall not smite youוְיָרֵחַnor the moonבַּלָּיְלָה׃by night

   The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7. 7

   יְהֹוָהthe LORDיִשְׁמׇרְךָshall preserve youמִכׇּל־רָעfrom all evilיִשְׁמֹרHe shall preserveאֶת־נַפְשֶׁךָ׃your soul

   The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8. 8

   יְהֹוָהthe LORDיִשְׁמׇר־צֵאתְךָshall preserve your going outוּבוֹאֶךָand your coming inמֵעַתָּהfrom this timeוְעַד־עוֹלָם׃and forever

   The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
