1. 1

   הַלְלוּ־יָהּpraise the LORDאַשְׁרֵי־אִישׁblessed is the manיָרֵאwho fearsאֶת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּמִצְוֺתָיוin His commandmentsחָפֵץdelightsמְאֹד׃greatly

   Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2. 2

   גִּבּוֹרmightyבָּאָרֶץin the landיִהְיֶהshall beזַרְעוֹhis seedדּוֹרthe generation ofיְשָׁרִיםthe uprightיְבֹרָךְ׃shall be blessed

   His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

   הוֹן־וָעֹשֶׁרwealth and richesבְּבֵיתוֹin his houseוְצִדְקָתוֹand his righteousnessעֹמֶדֶתenduresלָעַד׃forever

   Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

   זָרַחthere arisesבַּחֹשֶׁךְin the darknessאוֹרlightלַיְשָׁרִיםfor the uprightחַנּוּןgraciousוְרַחוּםand full of compassionוְצַדִּיק׃and righteous

   Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

   טוֹב־אִישׁwell is it with the manחוֹנֵןwho deals graciouslyוּמַלְוֶהand lendsיְכַלְכֵּלhe will guideדְּבָרָיוhis affairsבְּמִשְׁפָּט׃with discretion

   A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

   כִּי־לְעוֹלָםsurely for everלֹא־יִמּוֹטhe shall not be movedלְזֵכֶרin remembranceעוֹלָםeverlastingיִהְיֶהshall beצַדִּיק׃the righteous

   Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

   מִשְּׁמוּעָהof tidingsרָעָהevilלֹאnotיִירָאshall he be afraidנָכוֹןis fixedלִבּוֹhis heartבָּטֻחַtrustingבַּיהֹוָה׃in the LORD

   He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

8. 8

   סָמוּךְis establishedלִבּוֹhis heartלֹאnotיִירָאshall he be afraidעַדuntilאֲשֶׁר־יִרְאֶהthat he sees his desireבְצָרָיו׃upon his enemies

   His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

   פִּזַּרhe has dispersedנָתַןhe has givenלָאֶבְיוֹנִיםto the needyצִדְקָתוֹhis righteousnessעֹמֶדֶתenduresלָעַדforeverקַרְנוֹhis hornתָּרוּםshall be exaltedבְּכָבוֹד׃with honor

   He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

    רָשָׁעthe wickedיִרְאֶהshall see itוְכָעָסand be grievedשִׁנָּיוhis teethיַחֲרֹקhe shall gnashוְנָמָסand melt awayתַּאֲוַתthe desire ofרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedתֹּאבֵד׃shall perish

    The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
