1. 1

   הַלְלוּ־יָהּHAL/lu-yapraise the LORDאַשְׁרֵי־אִישׁash/RE-ishblessed is the manיָרֵאya/REwho fearsאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDבְּמִצְוֺתָיוbe/mits/vo/TAYVin His commandmentsחָפֵץcha/FETSdelightsמְאֹד׃me/ODgreatly

   Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2. 2

   גִּבּוֹרgib/BORmightyבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beזַרְעוֹzar/Ohis offspringדּוֹרdorthe generation ofיְשָׁרִיםye/sha/RIMthe uprightיְבֹרָךְ׃ye/vo/RAKHshall be blessed

   His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

   הוֹן־וָעֹשֶׁרhon-va/O/sherwealth and richesבְּבֵיתוֹbe/ve/TOin his houseוְצִדְקָתוֹve/tsid/ka/TOand his righteousnessעֹמֶדֶתo/ME/detenduresלָעַד׃la/ADforever

   Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

   זָרַחza/RACHarisesבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin the darknessאוֹרorlightלַיְשָׁרִיםlay/sha/RIMfor the uprightחַנּוּןchan/NUNgraciousוְרַחוּםve/ra/CHUMand compassionateוְצַדִּיק׃ve/tsad/DIKand righteous

   Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

   טוֹב־אִישׁtov-ishgood is the manחוֹנֵןcho/NENwho deals graciouslyוּמַלְוֶהu/mal/VEand lendsיְכַלְכֵּלye/khal/KELhe conductsדְּבָרָיוde/va/RAYVhis affairsבְּמִשְׁפָּט׃be/mish/PATwith justice

   A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

   כִּי־לְעוֹלָםki-le/o/LAMfor foreverלֹא־יִמּוֹטlo-yim/MOThe shall not be movedלְזֵכֶרle/ZE/kherin remembranceעוֹלָםo/LAMeverlastingיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beצַדִּיק׃tsad/DIKthe righteous

   Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

   מִשְּׁמוּעָהmish/she/mu/Aof a reportרָעָהra/Aevilלֹאlonotיִירָאyi/RAshall he be afraidנָכוֹןna/KHONis steadfastלִבּוֹlib/BOhis heartבָּטֻחַba/TU/achtrustingבַּיהֹוָה׃ba-Adonaiin the LORD

   He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

8. 8

   סָמוּךְsa/MUKHis establishedלִבּוֹlib/BOhis heartלֹאlonotיִירָאyi/RAshall he be afraidעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁר־יִרְאֶהa/SHER-yir/Ehe looksבְצָרָיו׃ve/tsa/RAYVon his adversaries

   His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

   פִּזַּרpiz/ZARhe has scatteredנָתַןna/TANhe has givenלָאֶבְיוֹנִיםla/ev/yo/NIMto the needyצִדְקָתוֹtsid/ka/TOhis righteousnessעֹמֶדֶתo/ME/detenduresלָעַדla/ADforeverקַרְנוֹkar/NOhis hornתָּרוּםta/RUMshall be exaltedבְּכָבוֹד׃be/kha/VODwith honor

   He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

    רָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedיִרְאֶהyir/Eshall see itוְכָעָסve/kha/ASand be vexedשִׁנָּיוshin/NAYVhis teethיַחֲרֹקya/cha/ROKhe shall gnashוְנָמָסve/na/MASand melt awayתַּאֲוַתta/a/VATthe desire ofרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedתֹּאבֵד׃to/VEDshall perish

    The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
