1. 1

   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianלְדָוִדof Davidמִזְמוֹרa psalmאֱלֹהֵיO God ofתְהִלָּתִיmy praiseאַל־תֶּחֱרַשׁ׃hold not Your peace

   To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;

2. 2

   כִּיforפִיthe mouth ofרָשָׁעthe wickedוּפִי־מִרְמָהand the mouth of deceitעָלַיagainst meפָּתָחוּare openedדִּבְּרוּthey have spokenאִתִּיagainst meלְשׁוֹןwith a tongue ofשָׁקֶר׃lying

   For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

   וְדִבְרֵיand the words ofשִׂנְאָהhatredסְבָבוּנִיthey compassed me aboutוַיִּלָּחֲמוּנִיand fought against meחִנָּם׃without cause

   They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

4. 4

   תַּחַת־אַהֲבָתִיin return for my loveיִשְׂטְנוּנִיthey are my adversariesוַאֲנִיbut I give myself toתְפִלָּה׃prayer

   For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

5. 5

   וַיָּשִׂימוּand they have rewardedעָלַיmeרָעָהevilתַּחַתin return forטוֹבָהgoodוְשִׂנְאָהand hatredתַּחַתin return forאַהֲבָתִי׃my love

   And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

6. 6

   הַפְקֵדsetעָלָיוover himרָשָׁעa wicked manוְשָׂטָןand let an adversaryיַעֲמֹדstandעַל־יְמִינוֹ׃at his right hand

   Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.

7. 7

   בְּהִשָּׁפְטוֹwhen he is judgedיֵצֵאlet him be foundרָשָׁעguiltyוּתְפִלָּתוֹand his prayerתִּהְיֶהlet becomeלַחֲטָאָה׃sin

   When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

8. 8

   יִהְיוּ־יָמָיוlet his days beמְעַטִּיםa fewפְּקֻדָּתוֹhis officeיִקַּחlet takeאַחֵר׃another

   Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

9. 9

   יִהְיוּ־בָנָיוlet his children beיְתוֹמִיםfatherlessוְאִשְׁתּוֹand his wifeאַלְמָנָה׃a widow

   Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

10. 10

    וְנוֹעַand let continuallyיָנוּעוּwanderבָנָיוhis childrenוְשִׁאֵלוּand begוְדָרְשׁוּand seekמֵחׇרְבוֹתֵיהֶם׃out of their desolate places

    Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

11. 11

    יְנַקֵּשׁlet seizeנוֹשֶׁהthe creditorלְכׇל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹall that he hasוְיָבֹזּוּand let plunderזָרִיםstrangersיְגִיעוֹ׃his labor

    Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.

12. 12

    אַל־יְהִי־לוֹlet there be none to himמֹשֵׁךְextendingחָסֶדlovingkindnessוְאַל־יְהִיnor let there be anyחוֹנֵןto favorלִיתוֹמָיו׃to his fatherless children

    Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

13. 13

    יְהִי־אַחֲרִיתוֹlet his posterity beלְהַכְרִיתto cut offבְּדוֹרin the generationאַחֵרfollowingיִמַּחlet be blotted outשְׁמָם׃their name

    Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

14. 14

    יִזָּכֵרlet be rememberedעֲוֺןthe iniquity ofאֲבֹתָיוhis fathersאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDוְחַטַּאתand the sin ofאִמּוֹhis motherאַל־תִּמָּח׃let not be blotted out

    Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

15. 15

    יִהְיוּlet them beנֶגֶד־יְהֹוָהbefore the LORDתָּמִידcontinuallyוְיַכְרֵתthat He may cut offמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofזִכְרָם׃the memory of them

    Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

16. 16

    יַעַןbecauseאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹאnotזָכַרhe rememberedעֲשׂוֹתto showחָסֶדlovingkindnessוַיִּרְדֹּףbut persecutedאִישׁ־עָנִיthe poor manוְאֶבְיוֹןand needyוְנִכְאֵהand the broken inלֵבָבheartלְמוֹתֵת׃to slay them

    Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

17. 17

    וַיֶּאֱהַבas he lovedקְלָלָהa curseוַתְּבוֹאֵהוּso let it come to himוְלֹא־חָפֵץand he delighted notבִּבְרָכָהin blessingוַתִּרְחַקso let it be farמִמֶּנּוּ׃from him

    As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

18. 18

    וַיִּלְבַּשׁas he clothed himselfקְלָלָהa curseכְּמַדּוֹlike his garmentוַתָּבֹאso let it comeכַמַּיִםlike waterבְּקִרְבּוֹinto his inward partsוְכַשֶּׁמֶןand like oilבְּעַצְמוֹתָיו׃in his bones

    As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

19. 19

    תְּהִי־לוֹlet it be to himכְּבֶגֶדas a garmentיַעְטֶהwhich covers himוּלְמֵזַחand for a girdleתָּמִידcontinuallyיַחְגְּרֶהָ׃with which he is girded

    Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.

20. 20

    זֹאתthisפְּעֻלַּתthe reward ofשֹׂטְנַיmy adversariesמֵאֵתfromיְהֹוָהthe LORDוְהַדֹּבְרִיםand of those who speakרָעevilעַל־נַפְשִׁי׃against my soul

    Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

21. 21

    וְאַתָּהbut YouיֱהֹוִהGODאֲדֹנָיO Lordעֲשֵׂה־אִתִּיdeal with meלְמַעַןfor the sake ofשְׁמֶךָYour nameכִּי־טוֹבbecause is goodחַסְדְּךָyour lovingkindnessהַצִּילֵנִי׃deliver me

    But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.

22. 22

    כִּי־עָנִיfor I am poorוְאֶבְיוֹןand needyאָנֹכִיam Iוְלִבִּיand my heartחָלַלis woundedבְּקִרְבִּי׃within me

    For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

23. 23

    כְּצֵל־כִּנְטוֹתוֹlike a shadow when it lengthensנֶהֱלָכְתִּיI am goneנִנְעַרְתִּיI am tossed up and downכָּאַרְבֶּה׃like the locust

    I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.

24. 24

    בִּרְכַּיmy kneesכָּשְׁלוּare weakמִצּוֹםthrough fastingוּבְשָׂרִיand my fleshכָּחַשׁfailsמִשָּׁמֶן׃of fatness

    My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.

25. 25

    וַאֲנִיand IהָיִיתִיI becameחֶרְפָּהa reproachלָהֶםto themיִרְאוּנִיwhen they look at meיְנִיעוּןthey shakeרֹאשָׁם׃their heads

    I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.

26. 26

    עׇזְרֵנִיhelp meיְהֹוָהO LORDאֱלֹהָיO my Godהוֹשִׁיעֵנִיsave meכְחַסְדֶּךָ׃according to Your mercy

    Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy:

27. 27

    וְיֵדְעוּthat they may knowכִּי־יָדְךָthat this is Your handזֹּאתthisאַתָּהthat YouיְהֹוָהO LORDעֲשִׂיתָהּ׃have done it

    That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it.

28. 28

    יְקַלְלוּ־הֵמָּהlet them curseוְאַתָּהbut Youתְבָרֵךְblessקָמוּwhen they ariseוַיֵּבֹשׁוּlet them be ashamedוְעַבְדְּךָbut let Your servantיִשְׂמָח׃rejoice

    Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.

29. 29

    יִלְבְּשׁוּlet be clothedשׂוֹטְנַיmy adversariesכְּלִמָּהwith shameוְיַעֲטוּand let them cover themselvesכַמְעִילas with a mantleבׇּשְׁתָּם׃with their own confusion

    Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.

30. 30

    אוֹדֶהI will greatly praiseיְהֹוָהthe LORDמְאֹדgreatlyבְּפִיwith my mouthוּבְתוֹךְyea in the midst ofרַבִּיםthe multitudeאֲהַלְלֶנּוּ׃I will praise him

    I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

31. 31

    כִּי־יַעֲמֹדfor He shall standלִימִיןat the right hand ofאֶבְיוֹןthe needyלְהוֹשִׁיעַto saveמִשֹּׁפְטֵיfrom those who condemnנַפְשׁוֹ׃his soul

    For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.
