   הֹדוּho/DUgive thanksלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDכִּי־טוֹבki-tovfor He is goodכִּיkiforלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverחַסְדּוֹ׃chas/DOHis kindness

   O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2. 2

   יֹאמְרוּyo/me/RUlet sayגְּאוּלֵיge/u/LEthe redeemed ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomגְּאָלָםge/a/LAMHe has redeemedמִיַּד־צָר׃miy/YAD-tsarfrom the hand of the adversary

   Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

   וּמֵאֲרָצוֹתu/me/a/ra/TSOTand out of the landsקִבְּצָםkib/be/TSAMHe gathered themמִמִּזְרָחmim/miz/RACHfrom the eastוּמִמַּעֲרָבu/mim/ma/a/RAVand from the westמִצָּפוֹןmits/tsa/FONfrom the northוּמִיָּם׃u/miy/YAMand from the sea

   And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

   תָּעוּta/Uthey wanderedבַמִּדְבָּרvam/mid/BARin the wildernessבִּישִׁימוֹןbi/shi/MONin a desertדָּרֶךְDA/rekha wayעִירira city ofמוֹשָׁבmo/SHAVto dwell inלֹאlonotמָצָאוּ׃ma/TSA/udid they find

   They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

   רְעֵבִיםre/e/VIMhungryגַּם־צְמֵאִיםgam-tse/me/IMand thirstyנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMtheir soulבָּהֶםba/HEMwithin themתִּתְעַטָּף׃tit/at/TAFfainted

   Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

   וַיִּצְעֲקוּvay/yits/a/KUthen they criedאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDבַּצַּרbats/TSARin their troubleלָהֶםla/HEMthey hadמִמְּצוּקוֹתֵיהֶםmim/me/tsu/ko/te/HEMout of their distressesיַצִּילֵם׃yats/tsi/LEMHe delivered them

   Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

   וַיַּדְרִיכֵםvay/yad/ri/KHEMand He led themבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhin the wayיְשָׁרָהye/sha/RAa straightלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goאֶל־עִירel-irto a city ofמוֹשָׁב׃mo/SHAVto dwell in

   And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

   יוֹדוּyo/DUlet them give thanksלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDחַסְדּוֹchas/DOfor His kindnessוְנִפְלְאוֹתָיוve/nif/le/o/TAYVand His wondersלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the children ofאָדָם׃a/DAMman

   Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

9. 9

   כִּי־הִשְׂבִּיעַki-his/BI/afor He satisfiesנֶפֶשׁNE/feshthe soulשֹׁקֵקָהsho/ke/KAthirstingוְנֶפֶשׁve/NE/feshand the soulרְעֵבָהre/e/VAhungryמִלֵּא־טוֹב׃mil/LE-tovHe fills with goodness

   For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

    יֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEsuch as sit inחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhdarknessוְצַלְמָוֶתve/tsal/MA/vetand in the shadow of deathאֲסִירֵיa/si/REprisoners inעֳנִיo/NIafflictionוּבַרְזֶל׃u/var/ZELand iron

    Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

    כִּי־הִמְרוּki-him/RUbecause they rebelled againstאִמְרֵי־אֵלim/RE-elthe words of Godוַעֲצַתva/a/TSATand the counsel ofעֶלְיוֹןEl/YONthe Most Highנָאָצוּ׃na/A/tsuthey despised

    Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

12. 12

    וַיַּכְנַעvay/yakh/NAtherefore He brought downבֶּעָמָלbe/a/MALwith toilלִבָּםlib/BAMtheir heartכָּשְׁלוּka/she/LUthey stumbledוְאֵיןve/ENand there was noneעֹזֵר׃o/ZERto help

    Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

13. 13

    וַיִּזְעֲקוּvay/yiz/a/KUthen they criedאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDבַּצַּרbats/TSARin their troubleלָהֶםla/HEMthey hadמִמְּצֻקוֹתֵיהֶםmim/me/tsu/ko/te/HEMout of their distressesיוֹשִׁיעֵם׃yo/shi/EMHe saved them

    Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

14. 14

    יוֹצִיאֵםyo/tsi/EMHe brought them outמֵחֹשֶׁךְme/CHO/shekhout of darknessוְצַלְמָוֶתve/tsal/MA/vetand the shadow of deathוּמוֹסְרוֹתֵיהֶםu/mos/ro/te/HEMand their fettersיְנַתֵּק׃ye/nat/TEKHe broke

    He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

15. 15

    יוֹדוּyo/DUlet them give thanksלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDחַסְדּוֹchas/DOfor His kindnessוְנִפְלְאוֹתָיוve/nif/le/o/TAYVand His wondersלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the children ofאָדָם׃a/DAMman

    Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16. 16

    כִּי־שִׁבַּרki-shib/BARfor He has brokenדַּלְתוֹתdal/TOTthe gates ofנְחֹשֶׁתne/CHO/shetbronzeוּבְרִיחֵיu/ve/ri/CHEand the bars ofבַרְזֶלvar/ZELironגִּדֵּעַ׃gid/DE/aHe cut

    For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17. 17

    אֱוִלִיםe/vi/LIMfoolsמִדֶּרֶךְmid/DE/rekhbecause of the way ofפִּשְׁעָםpish/AMtheir transgressionוּמֵעֲוֺנֹתֵיהֶםu/me/a/vo/no/te/HEMand because of their iniquitiesיִתְעַנּוּ׃yit/an/NUwere afflicted

    Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18. 18

    כׇּל־אֹכֶלkol-O/khelall manner of foodתְּתַעֵבte/ta/EVabhorredנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMtheir soulוַיַּגִּיעוּvay/yag/GI/uand they drew nearעַד־שַׁעֲרֵיad-SHA/a/reto the gates ofמָוֶת׃MA/vetdeath

    Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

19. 19

    וַיִּזְעֲקוּvay/yiz/a/KUthen they criedאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDבַּצַּרbats/TSARin their troubleלָהֶםla/HEMthey hadמִמְּצֻקוֹתֵיהֶםmim/me/tsu/ko/te/HEMout of their distressesיוֹשִׁיעֵם׃yo/shi/EMHe saved them

    Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

20. 20

    יִשְׁלַחyish/LACHHe sentדְּבָרוֹde/va/ROHis wordוְיִרְפָּאֵםve/yir/pa/EMand healed themוִימַלֵּטvi/mal/LETand delivered themמִשְּׁחִיתוֹתָם׃mish/she/chi/to/TAMfrom their pits

    He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

21. 21

    יוֹדוּyo/DUlet them give thanksלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDחַסְדּוֹchas/DOfor His kindnessוְנִפְלְאוֹתָיוve/nif/le/o/TAYVand His wondersלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the children ofאָדָם׃a/DAMman

    Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22. 22

    וְיִזְבְּחוּve/yiz/be/CHUand let them sacrificeזִבְחֵיziv/CHEthe sacrifices ofתוֹדָהto/DAthanksgivingוִיסַפְּרוּvi/sap/pe/RUand declareמַעֲשָׂיוma/a/SAYVHis worksבְּרִנָּה׃be/rin/NAwith singing

    And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

23. 23

    יוֹרְדֵיYOR/dethose who go down toהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaבׇּאֳנִיּוֹתbo/o/niy/YOTin the shipsעֹשֵׂיo/SEwho doמְלָאכָהme/la/KHAworkבְּמַיִםbe/MA/yimin the watersרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

24. 24

    הֵמָּהHEM/matheyרָאוּra/Usawמַעֲשֵׂיma/a/SEthe works ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְנִפְלְאוֹתָיוve/nif/le/o/TAYVand His wondersבִּמְצוּלָה׃bim/tsu/LAin the deep

    These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.

25. 25

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merfor He spokeוַיַּעֲמֵדvay/ya/a/MEDand raisesרוּחַRU/achthe windסְעָרָהse/a/RAof stormוַתְּרוֹמֵםvat/te/ro/MEMwhich lifts upגַּלָּיו׃gal/LAYVits waves

    For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26. 26

    יַעֲלוּya/a/LUthey mount up toשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimheavenיֵרְדוּyer/DUthey go down again toתְהוֹמוֹתte/ho/MOTthe deepsנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMtheir soulבְּרָעָהbe/ra/Abecause of troubleתִתְמוֹגָג׃tit/mo/GAGmelts away

    They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

27. 27

    יָחוֹגּוּya/CHOG/guthey reel to and froוְיָנוּעוּve/ya/NU/uand staggerכַּשִּׁכּוֹרkash/shik/KORlike a drunken manוְכׇל־חׇכְמָתָםve/KHOL-chokh/ma/TAMand all their skillתִּתְבַּלָּע׃tit/bal/LAis swallowed up

    They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.

28. 28

    וַיִּצְעֲקוּvay/yits/a/KUthen they criedאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDבַּצַּרbats/TSARin their troubleלָהֶםla/HEMthey hadוּמִמְּצוּקֹתֵיהֶםu/mim/me/tsu/ko/te/HEMand out of their distressesיוֹצִיאֵם׃yo/tsi/EMHe brought them out

    Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29. 29

    יָקֵםya/KEMHe madeסְעָרָהse/a/RAthe stormלִדְמָמָהlid/ma/MAa calmוַיֶּחֱשׁוּvay/ye/che/SHUand were hushedגַּלֵּיהֶם׃gal/le/HEMits waves

    He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

30. 30

    וַיִּשְׂמְחוּvay/yis/me/CHUthen are they gladכִי־יִשְׁתֹּקוּkhi-yish/TO/kubecause they were quietוַיַּנְחֵםvay/yan/CHEMand He guided themאֶל־מְחוֹזel-me/CHOZto the haven ofחֶפְצָם׃chef/TSAMtheir desire

    Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31. 31

    יוֹדוּyo/DUlet them give thanksלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDחַסְדּוֹchas/DOfor His kindnessוְנִפְלְאוֹתָיוve/nif/le/o/TAYVand His wondersלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the children ofאָדָם׃a/DAMman

    Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32. 32

    וִירוֹמְמוּהוּvi/rom/mu/HUlet them exalt Him alsoבִּקְהַל־עָםbik/HAL-amin the congregation of the peopleוּבְמוֹשַׁבu/ve/mo/SHAVand in the seat ofזְקֵנִיםze/ke/NIMthe eldersיְהַלְלוּהוּ׃ye/hal/LU/hupraise Him

    Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

33. 33

    יָשֵׂםya/SEMHe turnsנְהָרוֹתne/ha/ROTriversלְמִדְבָּרle/mid/BARinto a wildernessוּמֹצָאֵיu/mo/TSA/eand springs ofמַיִםMA/yimof waterלְצִמָּאוֹן׃le/tsim/ma/ONinto thirsty ground

    He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

34. 34

    אֶרֶץE/retsa land ofפְּרִיpe/RIfruitלִמְלֵחָהlim/le/CHAinto salt landמֵרָעַתme/ra/ATfor the wickedness ofיוֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEthose who dwellבָהּ׃vain it

    A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35. 35

    יָשֵׂםya/SEMHe turnsמִדְבָּרmid/BARa wildernessלַאֲגַם־מַיִםla/a/GAM-MA/yiminto a pool of waterוְאֶרֶץve/E/retsand a land ofצִיָּהtsiy/YAdroughtלְמֹצָאֵיle/mo/TSA/einto springs ofמָיִם׃MA/yimof water

    He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

36. 36

    וַיּוֹשֶׁבvay/YO/shevand He made dwellשָׁםshamthereרְעֵבִיםre/e/VIMthe hungryוַיְכוֹנְנוּvay/khon/NUand they establishedעִירira city forמוֹשָׁב׃mo/SHAVto dwell in

    And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

37. 37

    וַיִּזְרְעוּvay/yiz/re/Uand they sowedשָׂדוֹתsa/DOTfieldsוַיִּטְּעוּvay/yit/te/Uand plantedכְרָמִיםkhe/ra/MIMvineyardsוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand producedפְּרִיpe/RIfruitתְבוּאָה׃te/vu/Aof increase

    And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

38. 38

    וַיְבָרְכֵםvay/va/re/KHEMand He blessed themוַיִּרְבּוּvay/yir/BUand they multipliedמְאֹדme/ODgreatlyוּבְהֶמְתָּםu/ve/hem/TAMand their cattleלֹאlonotיַמְעִיט׃yam/ITdoes He diminish

    He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39. 39

    וַיִּמְעֲטוּvay/yim/a/TUthen they were diminishedוַיָּשֹׁחוּvay/ya/SHO/chuand brought lowמֵעֹצֶרme/O/tserthrough oppression ofרָעָהra/Aevilוְיָגוֹן׃ve/ya/GONand sorrow

    Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

40. 40

    שֹׁפֵךְsho/FEKHHe poursבּוּזbuzcontemptעַל־נְדִיבִיםal-ne/di/VIMupon princesוַיַּתְעֵםvay/yat/EMand causes them to wanderבְּתֹהוּbe/TO/huin chaosלֹא־דָרֶךְ׃lo-DA/rekhwhere there is no way

    He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

41. 41

    וַיְשַׂגֵּבvay/sag/GEVyet He sets on highאֶבְיוֹןev/YONthe needyמֵעוֹנִיme/O/nifrom afflictionוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand makesכַּצֹּאןkats/TSONlike a flockמִשְׁפָּחוֹת׃mish/pa/CHOTfamilies

    Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

42. 42

    יִרְאוּyir/Ushall see itיְשָׁרִיםye/sha/RIMthe uprightוְיִשְׂמָחוּve/yis/MA/chuand rejoiceוְכׇל־עַוְלָהve/KHOL-av/LAand all iniquityקָפְצָהKAF/tsashutsפִּיהָ׃PI/haher mouth

    The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43. 43

    מִי־חָכָםmi-cha/KHAMwhoever is wiseוְיִשְׁמׇר־אֵלֶּהve/yish/MOR-EL/leand will observe these thingsוְיִתְבּוֹנְנוּve/yit/bon/NUand let them considerחַסְדֵיchas/DEthe kindnesses ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
