   בָּרְכִיblessנַפְשִׁיO my soulאֶת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDיְהֹוָהO LORDאֱלֹהַיmy GodגָּדַלְתָּYou are greatמְּאֹדveryהוֹדwith honorוְהָדָרand majestyלָבָשְׁתָּ׃You are clothed

   Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

2. 2

   עֹטֶה־אוֹרwho covers Yourself with lightכַּשַּׂלְמָהas with a garmentנוֹטֶהwho stretches outשָׁמַיִםthe heavensכַּיְרִיעָה׃like a curtain

   Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

   הַמְקָרֶהwho lays the beams ofבַמַּיִםin the watersעֲלִיּוֹתָיוHis chambersהַשָּׂם־עָבִיםwho makes the cloudsרְכוּבוֹHis chariotהַמְהַלֵּךְwho walksעַל־כַּנְפֵי־רוּחַ׃upon the wings of the wind

   Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

   עֹשֶׂהwho makesמַלְאָכָיוHis angelsרוּחוֹתwindsמְשָׁרְתָיוHis ministersאֵשׁfireלֹהֵט׃a flame

   Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

   יָסַד־אֶרֶץHe laid the foundations of the earthעַל־מְכוֹנֶיהָupon its foundationsבַּל־תִּמּוֹטthat it should not be removedעוֹלָםforeverוָעֶד׃and ever

   Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

   תְּהוֹםthe deepכַּלְּבוּשׁas with a garmentכִּסִּיתוֹYou covered itעַל־הָרִיםabove the mountainsיַעַמְדוּ־מָיִם׃the waters stood

   Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

   מִן־גַּעֲרָתְךָat Your rebukeיְנוּסוּןthey fledמִן־קוֹלat the voice ofרַעַמְךָYour thunderיֵחָפֵזוּן׃they hastened away

   At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

8. 8

   יַעֲלוּthey go up byהָרִיםthe mountainsיֵרְדוּthey go down byבְקָעוֹתthe valleysאֶל־מְקוֹםto the placeזֶהwhichיָסַדְתָּYou foundedלָהֶם׃for them

   They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

   גְּבוּל־שַׂמְתָּYou have set a boundבַּל־יַעֲבֹרוּןthat they may not pass overבַּל־יְשֻׁבוּןthat they turn not againלְכַסּוֹתto coverהָאָרֶץ׃the earth

   Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

    הַמְשַׁלֵּחַHe sendsמַעְיָנִיםthe springsבַּנְּחָלִיםinto the valleysבֵּיןamongהָרִיםthe hillsיְהַלֵּכוּן׃they run

    He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.

11. 11

    יַשְׁקוּthey give drink toכׇּל־חַיְתוֹevery beast ofשָׂדָיthe fieldיִשְׁבְּרוּquenchפְרָאִיםthe wild assesצְמָאָם׃their thirst

    They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.

12. 12

    עֲלֵיהֶםby themעוֹף־הַשָּׁמַיִםthe birds of the heavenיִשְׁכּוֹןhave their habitationמִבֵּיןfrom amongעֳפָאיִםthe branchesיִתְּנוּ־קוֹל׃they sing

    By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.

13. 13

    מַשְׁקֶהHe watersהָרִיםthe hillsמֵעֲלִיּוֹתָיוfrom His chambersמִפְּרִיwith the fruit ofמַעֲשֶׂיךָYour worksתִּשְׂבַּעis satisfiedהָאָרֶץ׃the earth

    He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

14. 14

    מַצְמִיחַHe causes to growחָצִירgrassלַבְּהֵמָהfor the cattleוְעֵשֶׂבand herbלַעֲבֹדַתfor the service ofהָאָדָםthe manלְהוֹצִיאthat he may bring forthלֶחֶםbreadמִן־הָאָרֶץ׃from the land

    He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

15. 15

    וְיַיִןand wineיְשַׂמַּחthat makes gladלְבַב־אֱנוֹשׁthe heart of manלְהַצְהִילto make shineפָּנִיםfaceמִשָּׁמֶןwith oilוְלֶחֶםand breadלְבַב־אֱנוֹשׁthe heart of manיִסְעָד׃which strengthens

    And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.

16. 16

    יִשְׂבְּעוּare full of sapעֲצֵיthe trees ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאַרְזֵיthe cedars ofלְבָנוֹןLebanonאֲשֶׁרwhichנָטָע׃He has planted

    The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;

17. 17

    אֲשֶׁר־שָׁםwhereצִפֳּרִיםthe birdsיְקַנֵּנוּmake their nestsחֲסִידָהthe storkבְּרוֹשִׁיםthe cypresses areבֵּיתָהּ׃her house

    Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.

18. 18

    הָרִיםthe hillsהַגְּבֹהִיםthe highלַיְּעֵלִיםare for the wild goatsסְלָעִיםthe rocks areמַחְסֶהa refugeלַשְׁפַנִּים׃for the rock badgers

    The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.

19. 19

    עָשָׂהHe appointedיָרֵחַthe moonלְמוֹעֲדִיםfor seasonsשֶׁמֶשׁthe sunיָדַעknowsמְבוֹאוֹ׃its going down

    He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

20. 20

    תָּשֶׁת־חֹשֶׁךְYou make darknessוִיהִיand it isלָיְלָהnightבּוֹ־תִרְמֹשׂwherein creep forthכׇּל־חַיְתוֹ־יָעַר׃all the beasts of the forest

    Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

21. 21

    הַכְּפִירִיםthe young lionsשֹׁאֲגִיםroarלַטָּרֶףafter their preyוּלְבַקֵּשׁand seekמֵאֵלfrom Godאׇכְלָם׃their food

    The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.

22. 22

    תִּזְרַחrisesהַשֶּׁמֶשׁthe sunיֵאָסֵפוּןthey gather themselves awayוְאֶל־מְעוֹנֹתָםand to their densיִרְבָּצוּן׃they lie down

    The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.

23. 23

    יֵצֵאgoes forthאָדָםmanלְפׇעֳלוֹto his workוְלַעֲבֹדָתוֹand to his laborעֲדֵי־עָרֶב׃until the evening

    Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

24. 24

    מָה־רַבּוּhow manifold areמַעֲשֶׂיךָYour worksיְהֹוָהO LORDכֻּלָּםall of themבְּחׇכְמָהin wisdomעָשִׂיתָYou have madeמָלְאָהis full ofהָאָרֶץthe earthקִנְיָנֶךָ׃Your riches

    O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

25. 25

    זֶהso isהַיָּםthe seaגָּדוֹלgreatוּרְחַבand wideיָדָיִםin extentשָׁם־רֶמֶשׂthere are creeping thingsוְאֵיןand there is noמִסְפָּרnumberחַיּוֹתliving thingsקְטַנּוֹתboth smallעִם־גְּדֹלוֹת׃with great

    So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.

26. 26

    שָׁםthereאֳנִיּוֹתthe shipsיְהַלֵּכוּןgoלִוְיָתָןLeviathanזֶה־יָצַרְתָּwhom You have formedלְשַׂחֶק־בּוֹ׃to play in it

    There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.

27. 27

    כֻּלָּםthese allאֵלֶיךָupon Youיְשַׂבֵּרוּןwaitלָתֵתthat You may giveאׇכְלָםtheir foodבְּעִתּוֹ׃in due season

    These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.

28. 28

    תִּתֵּןYou giveלָהֶםto themיִלְקֹטוּןthey gatherתִּפְתַּחYou openיָדְךָYour handיִשְׂבְּעוּןthey are filled withטוֹב׃good

    That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

29. 29

    תַּסְתִּירYou hideפָּנֶיךָYour faceיִבָּהֵלוּןthey are troubledתֹּסֵףYou take awayרוּחָםtheir breathיִגְוָעוּןthey dieוְאֶל־עֲפָרָםand to their dustיְשׁוּבוּן׃they return

    Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

30. 30

    תְּשַׁלַּחYou send forthרוּחֲךָYour spiritיִבָּרֵאוּןthey are createdוּתְחַדֵּשׁand You renewפְּנֵיthe face ofאֲדָמָה׃the earth

    Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

31. 31

    יְהִיlet endureכְבוֹדthe glory ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDלְעוֹלָםforeverיִשְׂמַחlet rejoiceיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּמַעֲשָׂיו׃in His works

    The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

32. 32

    הַמַּבִּיטHe looksלָאָרֶץon the earthוַתִּרְעָדand it tremblesיִגַּעHe touchesבֶּהָרִיםthe hillsוְיֶעֱשָׁנוּ׃and they smoke

    He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.

33. 33

    אָשִׁירָהI will singלַיהֹוָהto the LORDבְּחַיָּיas long as I liveאֲזַמְּרָהI will sing praises toלֵאלֹהַיto my Godבְּעוֹדִי׃while I have my being

    I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

34. 34

    יֶעֱרַבlet be sweetעָלָיוto Himשִׂיחִיmy meditationאָנֹכִיI willאֶשְׂמַחbe gladבַּיהֹוָה׃in the LORD

    My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

35. 35

    יִתַּמּוּlet be consumedחַטָּאִיםthe sinnersמִן־הָאָרֶץout of the earthוּרְשָׁעִיםand let the wickedעוֹדbe no moreאֵינָםthey are notבָּרְכִיblessנַפְשִׁיO my soulאֶת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDהַלְלוּ־יָהּ׃praise the LORD

    Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.
