   תְּפִלָּהte/fil/LAa prayerלְעָנִיle/a/NIof the afflictedכִי־יַעֲטֹףkhi-ya/a/TOFwhen he faintsוְלִפְנֵיve/lif/NEand beforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDיִשְׁפֹּךְyish/POKHand pours outשִׂיחוֹ׃si/CHOhis complaint

   A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD.

   יְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDשִׁמְעָהshim/Ahearתְפִלָּתִיte/fil/la/TImy prayerוְשַׁוְעָתִיve/shav/a/TIand my cry for helpאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youתָבוֹא׃ta/VOlet come

   Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.

   אַל־תַּסְתֵּרal-tas/TERdo not hideפָּנֶיךָpa/NE/khaYour faceמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofצַר־לִיtsar-limy troubleהַטֵּה־אֵלַיhat/TE-e/LAYincline to meאׇזְנֶךָoz/NE/khaYour earבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the dayאֶקְרָאek/RAI callמַהֵרma/HERspeedilyעֲנֵנִי׃a/NE/nianswer me

   Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

   כִּי־כָלוּki-kha/LUfor are consumedבְעָשָׁןve/a/SHANlike smokeיָמָיya/MAYmy daysוְעַצְמוֹתַיve/ats/mo/TAYand my bonesכְּמוֹקֵדke/mo/KEDlike a furnaceנִחָרוּ׃ni/CHA/ruare burned

   For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.

   הוּכָּה־כָעֵשֶׂבhuk/KA-kha/E/sevis struck like grassוַיִּבַשׁvay/yi/VASHand withersלִבִּיlib/BImy heartכִּי־שָׁכַחְתִּיki-sha/KHACH/tifor I forgetמֵאֲכֹלme/a/KHOLto eatלַחְמִי׃lach/MImy bread

   My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

   מִקּוֹלmik/KOLbecause of the sound ofאַנְחָתִיan/cha/TImy groaningדָּבְקָהda/ve/KAcleavesעַצְמִיats/MImy boneלִבְשָׂרִי׃liv/sa/RIto my flesh

   By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

   דָּמִיתִיda/MI/tiI am likeלִקְאַתlik/ATa pelican ofמִדְבָּרmid/BARthe wildernessהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI have becomeכְּכוֹסke/KHOSlike an owl ofחֳרָבוֹת׃cho/ra/VOTthe waste places

   I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.

   שָׁקַדְתִּיsha/KAD/tiI lie awakeוָאֶהְיֶהva/eh/YEand have becomeכְּצִפּוֹרke/tsip/PORlike a birdבּוֹדֵדbo/DEDaloneעַל־גָּג׃al-gagupon the housetop

   I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

   כׇּל־הַיּוֹםkol-hay/YOMall the dayחֵרְפוּנִיcher/FU/nireproach meאוֹיְבָיoy/VAYmy enemiesמְהוֹלָלַיme/ho/la/LAYthose who mock meבִּיbiby meנִשְׁבָּעוּ׃nish/BA/uare sworn

   Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

    כִּי־אֵפֶרki-E/ferfor ashesכַּלֶּחֶםkal/LE/chemlike breadאָכָלְתִּיa/KHAL/tiI have eatenוְשִׁקֻּוַיve/shik/ku/VAYand my drinkבִּבְכִיbiv/KHIwith weepingמָסָכְתִּי׃ma/SAKH/tiI have mingled

    For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,

    מִפְּנֵי־זַעַמְךָmip/pe/NE-za/am/KHAbecause of Your indignationוְקִצְפֶּךָve/kits/PE/khaand Your wrathכִּיkiforנְשָׂאתַנִיne/sa/TA/niYou have lifted me upוַתַּשְׁלִיכֵנִי׃vat/tash/li/KHE/niand cast me down

    Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

    יָמַיya/MAYmy daysכְּצֵלke/TSELare like a shadowנָטוּיna/TUYlengtheningוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iכָּעֵשֶׂבka/E/sevlike grassאִיבָשׁ׃i/VASHI wither

    My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

13. 13

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut YouיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverתֵּשֵׁבte/SHEVsit enthronedוְזִכְרְךָve/zikh/re/KHAand Your memorialלְדֹרle/DORto generationוָדֹר׃va/DORand generation

    But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

14. 14

    אַתָּהat/TAYouתָקוּםta/KUMwill ariseתְּרַחֵםte/ra/CHEMand have compassion onצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionכִּי־עֵתki-etfor it is the timeלְחֶנְנָהּle/chen/NAto favor herכִּי־בָאki-vafor has comeמוֹעֵד׃mo/EDthe set time

    Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

15. 15

    כִּי־רָצוּki-ra/TSUfor delight inעֲבָדֶיךָa/va/DE/khaYour servantsאֶת־אֲבָנֶיהָet-a/va/NE/haher stonesוְאֶת־עֲפָרָהּve/ET-a/fa/RAand her dustיְחֹנֵנוּ׃ye/cho/NE/nuthey pity

    For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.

16. 16

    וְיִירְאוּve/yi/re/Uand will fearגוֹיִםgo/YIMthe nationsאֶת־שֵׁםet-shemthe name ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְכׇל־מַלְכֵיve/KHOL-mal/KHEand all the kings ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthאֶת־כְּבוֹדֶךָ׃et-ke/vo/DE/khaYour glory

    So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

17. 17

    כִּי־בָנָהki-va/NAfor has builtיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionנִרְאָהnir/AHe has appearedבִּכְבוֹדוֹ׃bikh/vo/DOin His glory

    When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

18. 18

    פָּנָהpa/NAHe has turnedאֶל־תְּפִלַּתel-te/fil/LATthe prayer ofהָעַרְעָרha/ar/ARthe destituteוְלֹא־בָזָהve/LO-va/ZAand has not despisedאֶת־תְּפִלָּתָם׃et-te/fil/la/TAMtheir prayer

    He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

19. 19

    תִּכָּתֶבtik/KA/tevlet be writtenזֹאתzotthisלְדוֹרle/DORfor the generationאַחֲרוֹןa/cha/RONto comeוְעַםve/AMand a peopleנִבְרָאniv/RAyet to be createdיְהַלֶּל־יָהּ׃ye/hal/LEL-yashall praise the LORD

    This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.

20. 20

    כִּי־הִשְׁקִיףki-hish/KIFfor He has looked downמִמְּרוֹםmim/me/ROMfrom the height ofקׇדְשׁוֹkod/SHOHis holinessיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִשָּׁמַיִםmish/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the earthהִבִּיט׃hib/BITdid He behold

    For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;

21. 21

    לִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearאֶנְקַתen/KATthe groaning ofאָסִירa/SIRthe prisonerלְפַתֵּחַle/fat/TE/achto looseבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofתְמוּתָה׃te/mu/TAdeath

    To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

22. 22

    לְסַפֵּרle/sap/PERto tellבְּצִיּוֹןbe/Tsiy/YONin Zionשֵׁםshemthe name ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוּתְהִלָּתוֹu/te/hil/la/TOand His praiseבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃bI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalem

    To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

23. 23

    בְּהִקָּבֵץbe/hik/ka/VETSwhen are gatheredעַמִּיםam/MIMthe peoplesיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherוּמַמְלָכוֹתu/mam/la/KHOTand kingdomsלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto serveאֶת־יְהֹוָה׃et-Adonaithe LORD

    When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

24. 24

    עִנָּהin/NAHe has weakenedבַדֶּרֶךְvad/DE/rekhin the way(כחו)khachav[כֹּחִי]ko/CHImy strengthקִצַּרkits/TSARHe shortenedיָמָי׃ya/MAYmy days

    He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

25. 25

    אֹמַרo/MARI sayאֵלִיe/LIO my Godאַל־תַּעֲלֵנִיal-ta/a/LE/nitake me not awayבַּחֲצִיba/cha/TSIin the midst ofיָמָיya/MAYmy daysבְּדוֹרbe/DORthrough generationדּוֹרִיםdo/RIMof generationsשְׁנוֹתֶיךָ׃she/no/TE/khaare Your years

    I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

26. 26

    לְפָנִיםle/fa/NIMof oldהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthיָסַדְתָּya/SAD/taYou laid the foundation ofוּמַעֲשֵׂהu/ma/a/SEand the work ofיָדֶיךָya/DE/khaYour handsשָׁמָיִם׃sha/MA/yimare the heavens

    Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

27. 27

    הֵמָּהHEM/mathey shallיֹאבֵדוּyo/VE/duperishוְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut Youתַעֲמֹדta/a/MODwill standוְכֻלָּםve/khul/LAMand all of themכַּבֶּגֶדkab/BE/gedlike a garmentיִבְלוּyiv/LUshall grow oldכַּלְּבוּשׁkal/le/VUSHlike a garmentתַּחֲלִיפֵםta/cha/li/FEMYou will change themוְיַחֲלֹפוּ׃ve/ya/cha/LO/fuand they will pass away

    They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

28. 28

    וְאַתָּה־הוּאve/at/TA-hubut You are Heוּשְׁנוֹתֶיךָu/she/no/TE/khaand Your yearsלֹאlonotיִתָּמּוּ׃yit/TAM/muwill end

    But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

29. 29

    בְּנֵי־עֲבָדֶיךָbe/NE-a/va/DE/khathe children of Your servantsיִשְׁכּוֹנוּyish/KO/nushall dwellוְזַרְעָםve/zar/AMand their offspringלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore Youיִכּוֹן׃yik/KONshall be established

    The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.
