Proverbs 9 מִשְׁלֵי פרק ט׳

   חׇכְמוֹתchokh/MOTwisdomבָּנְתָהba/ne/TAshe has builtבֵיתָהּve/TAher houseחָצְבָהcha/tse/VAshe has hewn outעַמּוּדֶיהָam/mu/DE/haher pillarsשִׁבְעָה׃shiv/Aseven

   Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:

   טָבְחָהta/ve/CHAshe has slaughteredטִבְחָהּtiv/CHAher meatמָסְכָהma/se/KHAshe has mixedיֵינָהּye/NAher wineאַףafmoreoverעָרְכָהa/re/KHAshe has setשֻׁלְחָנָהּ׃shul/cha/NAher table

   She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.

   שָׁלְחָהsha/le/CHAshe has sentנַעֲרֹתֶיהָna/a/ro/TE/haher maidsתִקְרָאtik/RAshe criesעַל־גַּפֵּיal-gap/PEon the heights ofמְרֹמֵיme/RO/methe high places ofקָרֶת׃KA/retthe city

   She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,

   מִי־פֶתִיmi-FE/tiwhoever is simpleיָסֻרya/SURlet him turn inהֵנָּהHEN/nahereחֲסַר־לֵבcha/SAR-levto him who lacks senseאָמְרָהa/me/RAshe saysלּוֹ׃loto him

   Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

   לְכוּle/KHUgoלַחֲמוּla/cha/MUeatבְלַחֲמִיve/la/cha/MIof my breadוּשְׁתוּu/she/TUand drinkבְּיַיִןbe/YA/yinof the wineמָסָכְתִּי׃ma/SAKH/tiI have mixed

   Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

   עִזְבוּiz/VUleaveפְתָאיִםfe/ta/YIMsimplenessוִחְיוּvich/YUand liveוְאִשְׁרוּve/ish/RUand walkבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhin the way ofבִּינָה׃bi/NAunderstanding

   Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

   יֹסֵרyo/SERhe who correctsלֵץletsa scofferלֹקֵחַlo/KE/achgetsלוֹlofor himselfקָלוֹןka/LONshameוּמוֹכִיחַu/mo/KHI/achand he who rebukesלְרָשָׁעle/ra/SHAa wicked manמוּמוֹ׃mu/MOhis blemish

   He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

   אַל־תּוֹכַחal-TO/khachdo not reproveלֵץletsa scofferפֶּן־יִשְׂנָאֶךָּpen-yis/na/EK/kalest he should hate youהוֹכַחho/KHACHreproveלְחָכָםle/cha/KHAMa wise manוְיֶאֱהָבֶךָּ׃ve/ye/e/ha/VEK/kaand he will love you

   Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

9. 9

   תֵּןtengiveלְחָכָםle/cha/KHAMto a wise manוְיֶחְכַּם־עוֹדve/yech/KAM-odand he will be yet wiserהוֹדַעho/DAteachלְצַדִּיקle/tsad/DIKa righteous manוְיוֹסֶףve/YO/sefand he will increaseלֶקַח׃LE/kachlearning

   Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

    תְּחִלַּתte/chil/LATthe beginning ofחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomיִרְאַתyir/ATthe fear ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְדַעַתve/DA/atand knowledgeקְדֹשִׁיםKe/do/SHIMof the Holy Oneבִּינָה׃bi/NAis understanding

    The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

11. 11

    כִּי־בִיki-vifor by meיִרְבּוּyir/BUwill be multipliedיָמֶיךָya/ME/khayour daysוְיוֹסִיפוּve/yo/SI/fuand will be addedלְּךָle/KHAto youשְׁנוֹתshe/NOTthe years ofחַיִּים׃chay/YIMlife

    For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

12. 12

    אִם־חָכַמְתָּim-cha/KHAM/taif you are wiseחָכַמְתָּcha/KHAM/tayou are wiseלָּךְlakhfor yourselfוְלַצְתָּve/LATS/taand if you scoffלְבַדְּךָle/vad/de/KHAaloneתִשָּׂא׃tis/SAyou will bear it

    If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

13. 13

    אֵשֶׁתE/sheta woman ofכְּסִילוּתke/si/LUTfollyהֹמִיָּהho/miy/YAis loudפְּתַיּוּתpe/tay/YUTsimpleוּבַל־יָדְעָהu/VAL-YAD/aand knowsמָּה׃manothing

    A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.

14. 14

    וְיָשְׁבָהve/ya/she/VAand she sitsלְפֶתַחle/FE/tachat the door ofבֵּיתָהּbe/TAher houseעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEon a seatמְרֹמֵיme/RO/mein the high places ofקָרֶת׃KA/retthe town

    For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,

15. 15

    לִקְרֹאlik/ROcallingלְעֹבְרֵי־דָרֶךְle/OV/re-DA/rekhto those who pass byהַמְיַשְּׁרִיםham/yash/she/RIMwho go straight onאֹרְחוֹתָם׃or/cho/TAMtheir paths

    To call passengers who go right on their ways:

    מִי־פֶתִיmi-FE/tiwhoever is simpleיָסֻרya/SURlet him turn inהֵנָּהHEN/nahereוַחֲסַר־לֵבva/cha/SAR-levand to him who lacks senseוְאָמְרָהve/a/me/RAshe saysלּוֹ׃loto him

    Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

17. 17

    מַיִם־גְּנוּבִיםMA/yim-ge/nu/VIMstolen waterיִמְתָּקוּyim/TA/kuis sweetוְלֶחֶםve/LE/chemand breadסְתָרִיםse/ta/RIMeaten in secretיִנְעָם׃yin/AMis pleasant

    Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

18. 18

    וְלֹא־יָדַעve/LO-ya/DAbut he does not knowכִּי־רְפָאִיםki-re/fa/IMthat the dead areשָׁםshamthereבְּעִמְקֵיbe/im/KEin the depths ofשְׁאוֹלShe/OLSheolקְרֻאֶיהָ׃ke/ru/E/haare her guests

    But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
