Proverbs 8 מִשְׁלֵי פרק ח׳

   הֲלֹא־חׇכְמָהha/LO-chokh/MAdoes not wisdomתִקְרָאtik/RAcallוּתְבוּנָהu/te/vu/NAand understandingתִּתֵּןtit/TENdoes she put forthקוֹלָהּ׃ko/LAher voice

   Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

2. 2

   בְּרֹאשׁ־מְרֹמִיםbe/ROSH-me/ro/MIMon the top of the heightsעֲלֵי־דָרֶךְa/LE-DA/rekhbeside the wayבֵּיתbetat the crossing ofנְתִיבוֹתne/ti/VOTthe pathsנִצָּבָה׃nits/TSA/vashe stands

   She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

   לְיַד־שְׁעָרִיםle/YAD-she/a/RIMbeside the gatesלְפִי־קָרֶתle/FI-KA/retat the mouth of the cityמְבוֹאme/VOat the entrance ofפְתָחִיםfe/ta/CHIMthe doorwaysתָּרֹנָּה׃ta/RON/nashe cries aloud

   She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

   אֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youאִישִׁיםi/SHIMO menאֶקְרָאek/RAI callוְקוֹלִיve/ko/LIand my voiceאֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEto the sons ofאָדָם׃a/DAMman

   Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

   הָבִינוּha/VI/nuunderstandפְתָאיִםfe/ta/YIMO simple onesעׇרְמָהor/MAprudenceוּכְסִילִיםu/khe/si/LIMand foolsהָבִינוּha/VI/nuunderstandלֵב׃levheart

   O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

   שִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearכִּי־נְגִידִיםki-ne/gi/DIMfor noble thingsאֲדַבֵּרa/dab/BERI speakוּמִפְתַּחu/mif/TACHand the opening ofשְׂפָתַיse/fa/TAYmy lipsמֵישָׁרִים׃me/sha/RIMright things

   Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

   כִּי־אֱמֶתki-e/METfor truthיֶהְגֶּהyeh/GEwill utterחִכִּיchik/KImy palateוְתוֹעֲבַתve/to/a/VATand an abomination toשְׂפָתַיse/fa/TAYmy lipsרֶשַׁע׃RE/shais wickedness

   For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

   בְּצֶדֶקbe/TSE/dekin righteousness areכׇּל־אִמְרֵי־פִיkol-im/RE-fiall the words of my mouthאֵיןenthere is noבָּהֶםba/HEMin themנִפְתָּלnif/TALtwistedוְעִקֵּשׁ׃ve/ik/KESHor crooked

   All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

   כֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themנְכֹחִיםne/kho/CHIMplainלַמֵּבִיןlam/me/VINto him who understandsוִישָׁרִיםvi/sha/RIMand uprightלְמֹצְאֵיle/MOTS/eto those who findדָעַת׃DA/atknowledge

   They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

10. 10

    קְחוּ־מוּסָרִיke/CHU-mu/sa/RItake my instructionוְאַל־כָּסֶףve/AL-KA/sefand not silverוְדַעַתve/DA/atand knowledgeמֵחָרוּץme/cha/RUTSmore than goldנִבְחָר׃niv/CHARchoice

    Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

11. 11

    כִּי־טוֹבָהki-to/VAfor better isחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomמִפְּנִינִיםmip/pe/ni/NIMis more than pearlsוְכׇל־חֲפָצִיםve/KHOL-cha/fa/TSIMand all desirable thingsלֹאlonotיִשְׁווּ־בָהּ׃yish/VU-vacan compare with her

    For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

    אֲנִי־חׇכְמָהa/NI-chokh/MAI wisdomשָׁכַנְתִּיsha/KHAN/tidwell withעׇרְמָהor/MAprudenceוְדַעַתve/DA/atand knowledgeמְזִמּוֹתme/zim/MOTdiscretionאֶמְצָא׃em/TSAI find

    I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

    יִרְאַתyir/ATthe fear ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDשְׂנֹאת־רָעse/NOT-rais to hate evilגֵּאָהge/Aprideוְגָאוֹןve/ga/ONand arroganceוְדֶרֶךְve/DE/rekhand the way ofרָעraevilוּפִיu/FIand the mouth ofתַהְפֻּכוֹתtah/pu/KHOTperversitiesשָׂנֵאתִי׃sa/NE/tiI hate

    The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

    לִי־עֵצָהli-e/TSAcounsel is mineוְתוּשִׁיָּהve/tu/shiy/YAand sound wisdomאֲנִיa/NII amבִינָהvi/NAunderstandingלִיliI haveגְבוּרָה׃ge/vu/RAstrength

    Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

15. 15

    בִּיbiby meמְלָכִיםme/la/KHIMkingsיִמְלֹכוּyim/LO/khuthey reignוְרֹזְנִיםve/roz/NIMand princesיְחֹקְקוּye/CHOK/kuthey enactצֶדֶק׃TSE/dekrighteousness

    By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

16. 16

    בִּיbiby meשָׂרִיםsa/RIMprincesיָשֹׂרוּya/SO/ruruleוּנְדִיבִיםu/ne/di/VIMand noblesכׇּל־שֹׁפְטֵיkol-SHOF/teall the judges ofצֶדֶק׃TSE/dekrighteousness

    By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

17. 17

    אֲנִיa/NII(אהביה)havayah[אֹהֲבַי]o/ha/VAYthose who love meאֵהָבe/HAVI loveוּמְשַׁחֲרַיu/me/sha/cha/RAYand those who seek me diligentlyיִמְצָאֻנְנִי׃yim/tsa/UN/nithey will find me

    I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

18. 18

    עֹשֶׁר־וְכָבוֹדO/sher-ve/kha/VODriches and gloryאִתִּיit/TIwith meהוֹןhonwealthעָתֵקa/TEKenduringוּצְדָקָה׃u/tse/da/KAand righteousness

    Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

19. 19

    טוֹבtovbetter isפִּרְיִיpir/YImy fruitמֵחָרוּץme/cha/RUTSmore than goldוּמִפָּזu/mip/PAZand more than pure goldוּתְבוּאָתִיu/te/vu/a/TIand my yieldמִכֶּסֶףmik/KE/sefthan silverנִבְחָר׃niv/CHARchoice

    My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

20. 20

    בְּאֹרַח־צְדָקָהbe/O/rach-tse/da/KAin the path of righteousnessאֲהַלֵּךְa/hal/LEKHI will walkבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongנְתִיבוֹתne/ti/VOTthe paths ofמִשְׁפָּט׃mish/PATjustice

    I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

21. 21

    לְהַנְחִילle/han/CHILto cause to inheritאֹהֲבַיo/ha/VAYthose who love meיֵשׁyeshwealthוְאֹצְרֹתֵיהֶםve/ots/ro/te/HEMand their treasuriesאֲמַלֵּא׃a/mal/LEI will fill

    That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

22. 22

    יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDקָנָנִיka/na/NIpossessed meרֵאשִׁיתre/SHITat the beginning ofדַּרְכּוֹdar/KOHis wayקֶדֶםKE/dembeforeמִפְעָלָיוmif/a/LAYVHis worksמֵאָז׃me/AZof old

    The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

23. 23

    מֵעוֹלָםme/o/LAMfrom everlastingנִסַּכְתִּיnis/SAKH/tiI was set upמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHfrom the beginningמִקַּדְמֵי־אָרֶץ׃mik/kad/ME-A/retsfrom the beginnings of the earth

    I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

24. 24

    בְּאֵין־תְּהֹמוֹתbe/EN-te/ho/MOTwhen there were no depthsחוֹלָלְתִּיcho/LAL/tiI was brought forthבְּאֵיןbe/ENwhen there were noמַעְיָנוֹתma/ya/NOTspringsנִכְבַּדֵּי־מָיִם׃nikh/bad/DE-MA/yimabounding with water

    When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

25. 25

    בְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeהָרִיםha/RIMmountainsהׇטְבָּעוּhot/BA/uwere settledלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeגְבָעוֹתge/va/OTthe hillsחוֹלָלְתִּי׃cho/LAL/tiI was brought forth

    Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

26. 26

    עַד־לֹאad-lowhile not yetעָשָׂהa/SAHe had madeאֶרֶץE/retsthe earthוְחוּצוֹתve/chu/TSOTor the fieldsוְרֹאשׁve/ROSHor the first ofעַפְרוֹתaf/ROTthe dust ofתֵּבֵל׃te/VELthe world

    While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

27. 27

    בַּהֲכִינוֹba/ha/khi/NOwhen He establishedשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimthe heavensשָׁםshamthereאָנִיA/niwas Iבְּחֻקוֹbe/CHU/kowhen He drewחוּגchuga circleעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the face ofתְהוֹם׃te/HOMthe great deep

    When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

28. 28

    בְּאַמְּצוֹbe/am/me/TSOwhen He made firmשְׁחָקִיםshe/cha/KIMthe skiesמִמָּעַלmim/MA/alfrom aboveבַּעֲזוֹזba/a/ZOZwhen became strongעִינוֹתi/NOTthe springs ofתְּהוֹם׃te/HOMthe deep

    When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

29. 29

    בְּשׂוּמוֹbe/su/MOwhen He setלַיָּםlay/YAMthe seaחֻקּוֹchuk/KOits limitוּמַיִםu/MA/yimso that the watersלֹאlonotיַעַבְרוּ־פִיוya/av/RU-fivwould transgress His commandבְּחוּקוֹbe/chu/KOwhen He marked outמוֹסְדֵיMOS/dethe foundations ofאָרֶץ׃A/retsthe earth

    When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

30. 30

    וָאֶהְיֶהva/eh/YEand I have beenאֶצְלוֹets/LObeside Himאָמוֹןa/MONas a master workmanוָאֶהְיֶהva/eh/YEand I have beenשַׁעֲשׁוּעִיםsha/a/shu/IMHis delightיוֹםyomdayיוֹםyomby dayמְשַׂחֶקֶתme/sa/CHE/ketplayingלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore Himבְּכׇל־עֵת׃be/KHOL-etat all times

    Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

31. 31

    מְשַׂחֶקֶתme/sa/CHE/ketplayingבְּתֵבֵלbe/te/VELin the world ofאַרְצוֹar/TSOHis earthוְשַׁעֲשֻׁעַיve/sha/a/shu/AYand my delightאֶת־בְּנֵיet-be/NEwith the sons ofאָדָם׃a/DAMman

    Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

32. 32

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבָנִיםva/NIMO sonsשִׁמְעוּ־לִיshim/U-lilisten to meוְאַשְׁרֵיve/ash/REfor blessed are those whoדְּרָכַיde/ra/KHAYmy waysיִשְׁמֹרוּ׃yish/MO/rukeep

    Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

33. 33

    שִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearמוּסָרmu/SARinstructionוַחֲכָמוּva/cha/KHA/muand act wiselyוְאַל־תִּפְרָעוּ׃ve/AL-tif/RA/uand do not neglect it

    Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

34. 34

    אַשְׁרֵי־אָדָםash/RE-a/DAMblessed is the manשֹׁמֵעַsho/ME/awho hearsלִיlimeלִשְׁקֹדlish/KODwatchingעַל־דַּלְתֹתַיal-dal/to/TAYupon my doorsיוֹםyomdayיוֹםyomby dayלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepמְזוּזֹתme/zu/ZOTthe doorposts ofפְּתָחָי׃pe/ta/CHAYmy doorways

    Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

35. 35

    כִּיkiforמֹצְאִיmots/Ione who finds me(מצאי)matsy[מָצָא]ma/TSAfindsחַיִּיםchay/YIMlifeוַיָּפֶקvay/YA/fekand obtainsרָצוֹןra/TSONfavorמֵיְהֹוָה׃me-Adonaifrom the LORD

    For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

36. 36

    וְחֹטְאִיve/chot/Ibut he who misses meחֹמֵסcho/MESwrongsנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis soulכׇּל־מְשַׂנְאַיkol-me/san/AYall those who hate meאָהֲבוּA/ha/vuloveמָוֶת׃MA/vetdeath

    But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
