Proverbs 7 מִשְׁלֵי פרק ז׳

   בְּנִיbe/NImy sonשְׁמֹרshe/MORkeepאֲמָרָיa/ma/RAYmy wordsוּמִצְוֺתַיu/mits/vo/TAYand my commandmentsתִּצְפֹּןtits/PONand treasure upאִתָּךְ׃it/TAKHwith you

   My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

2. 2

   שְׁמֹרshe/MORkeepמִצְוֺתַיmits/vo/TAYmy commandmentsוֶחְיֵהvech/YEand liveוְתוֹרָתִיve/to/ra/TIand my teachingכְּאִישׁוֹןke/i/SHONlike the pupil ofעֵינֶיךָ׃e/NE/khayour eyes

   Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

3. 3

   קׇשְׁרֵםkosh/REMbind themעַל־אֶצְבְּעֹתֶיךָal-ets/be/o/TE/khaupon your fingersכׇּתְבֵםkot/VEMwrite themעַל־לוּחַal-LU/achupon the tablet ofלִבֶּךָ׃lib/BE/khayour heart

   Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

   אֱמֹרe/MORsayלַחׇכְמָהla/chokh/MAto wisdomאֲחֹתִיa/cho/TImy sisterאָתְּattyou areוּמֹדָעu/mo/DAand a kinswomanלַבִּינָהlab/bi/NAunderstandingתִקְרָא׃tik/RAcall

   Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

   לִשְׁמׇרְךָlish/mor/KHAto keep youמֵאִשָּׁהme/ish/SHAfrom a womanזָרָהza/RAstrangeמִנׇּכְרִיָּהmin/nokh/riy/YAfrom a foreign womanאֲמָרֶיהָa/ma/RE/haher wordsהֶחֱלִיקָה׃he/che/LI/kashe makes smooth

   That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

   כִּיkiforבְּחַלּוֹןbe/chal/LONat the window ofבֵּיתִיbe/TImy houseבְּעַדbe/ADthroughאֶשְׁנַבִּיesh/nab/BImy latticeנִשְׁקָפְתִּי׃nish/KAF/tiI looked out

   For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

   וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawבַפְּתָאיִםvap/pe/ta/YIMamong the simpleאָבִינָהa/VI/naI discernedבַבָּנִיםvab/ba/NIMamong the youthsנַעַרNA/ara young manחֲסַר־לֵב׃cha/SAR-levlacking sense

   And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

   עֹבֵרo/VERpassing byבַּשּׁוּקbash/SHUKin the streetאֵצֶלE/tselnearפִּנָּהּpin/NAher cornerוְדֶרֶךְve/DE/rekhand the way toבֵּיתָהּbe/TAher houseיִצְעָד׃yits/ADhe walks

   Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

   בְּנֶשֶׁף־בְּעֶרֶבbe/NE/shef-be/E/revin the twilight in the evening ofיוֹםyomdayבְּאִישׁוֹןbe/i/SHONin the black ofלַיְלָהLAY/lanightוַאֲפֵלָה׃va/a/fe/LAand darkness

   In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanלִקְרָאתוֹlik/ra/TOto meet himשִׁיתshitdressed asזוֹנָהzo/NAa harlotוּנְצֻרַתu/ne/TSU/ratand wily ofלֵב׃levheart

    And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

11. 11

    הֹמִיָּהho/miy/YAloudהִיאhishe isוְסֹרָרֶתve/so/RA/retand defiantבְּבֵיתָהּbe/ve/TAin her houseלֹא־יִשְׁכְּנוּlo-yish/ke/NUdo not stayרַגְלֶיהָ׃rag/LE/haher feet

    (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

    פַּעַםPA/amnowבַּחוּץba/CHUTSin the streetפַּעַםPA/amnowבָּרְחֹבוֹתba/re/cho/VOTin the squaresוְאֵצֶלve/E/tseland besideכׇּל־פִּנָּהkol-pin/NAevery cornerתֶאֱרֹב׃te/e/ROVshe lies in wait

    Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

13. 13

    וְהֶחֱזִיקָהve/he/che/ZI/kaand she seizesבּוֹbohimוְנָשְׁקָהve/NASH/kaand she kissesלּוֹlohimהֵעֵזָהhe/E/zashe makes boldפָנֶיהָfa/NE/haher faceוַתֹּאמַרvat/to/MARand she saysלוֹ׃loto him

    So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

    זִבְחֵיziv/CHEsacrifices ofשְׁלָמִיםshe/la/MIMpeace offeringsעָלָיa/LAYare with meהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayשִׁלַּמְתִּיshil/LAM/tiI have paidנְדָרָי׃ne/da/RAYmy vows

    I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

15. 15

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeיָצָאתִיya/TSA/tiI came outלִקְרָאתֶךָlik/ra/TE/khato meet youלְשַׁחֵרle/sha/CHERto seek eagerlyפָּנֶיךָpa/NE/khayour faceוָאֶמְצָאֶךָּ׃va/em/tsa/EK/kaand I have found you

    Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

16. 16

    מַרְבַדִּיםmar/vad/DIMwith coveringsרָבַדְתִּיra/VAD/tiI have spreadעַרְשִׂיar/SImy couchחֲטֻבוֹתcha/tu/VOTcoloredאֵטוּןe/TUNlinens ofמִצְרָיִם׃Mits/RA/yimEgypt

    I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

17. 17

    נַפְתִּיNAF/tiI have sprinkledמִשְׁכָּבִיmish/ka/VImy bedמֹרmormyrrhאֲהָלִיםa/ha/LIMaloesוְקִנָּמוֹן׃ve/kin/na/MONand cinnamon

    I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

18. 18

    לְכָהle/KHAcomeנִרְוֶהnir/VElet us take our fill ofדֹדִיםdo/DIMloveעַד־הַבֹּקֶרad-hab/BO/keruntil the morningנִתְעַלְּסָהnit/al/le/SAlet us delight ourselvesבׇּאֳהָבִים׃bo/o/ha/VIMwith love

    Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

19. 19

    כִּיkiforאֵיןenthere is noהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manבְּבֵיתוֹbe/ve/TOin his houseהָלַךְha/LAKHhe has goneבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhon a journeyמֵרָחוֹק׃me/ra/CHOKfar

    For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

20. 20

    צְרוֹר־הַכֶּסֶףtse/ROR-hak/KE/sefthe bag of moneyלָקַחla/KACHtookבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOin his handלְיוֹםle/YOMat the day ofהַכֵּסֶאhak/KE/sethe full moonיָבֹאya/VOhe will comeבֵיתוֹ׃ve/TOhis house

    He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

21. 21

    הִטַּתּוּhit/tat/TUshe sways himבְּרֹבbe/ROVwith the abundance ofלִקְחָהּlik/CHAher persuasionבְּחֵלֶקbe/CHE/lekwith the smoothness ofשְׂפָתֶיהָse/fa/TE/haher lipsתַּדִּיחֶנּוּ׃tad/di/CHEN/nushe impels him

    With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

22. 22

    הוֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoingאַחֲרֶיהָa/cha/RE/haafter herפִּתְאֹםpit/OMsuddenlyכְּשׁוֹרke/SHORlike an oxאֶל־טֶבַחel-TE/vachto slaughterיָבֹאya/VOgoesוּכְעֶכֶסu/khe/E/khesand as in fettersאֶל־מוּסַרel-mu/SARto the punishment ofאֱוִיל׃e/VILa fool

    He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

23. 23

    עַדaduntilיְפַלַּחye/fal/LACHpiercesחֵץchetsthe arrowכְּבֵדוֹke/ve/DOhis liverכְּמַהֵרke/ma/HERas hurriesצִפּוֹרtsip/PORa birdאֶל־פָּחel-pachto a trapוְלֹא־יָדַעve/LO-ya/DAand he does not knowכִּי־בְנַפְשׁוֹki-ve/naf/SHOthat it will cost his lifeהוּא׃huit is

    Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

24. 24

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבָנִיםva/NIMO sonsשִׁמְעוּ־לִיshim/U-lilisten to meוְהַקְשִׁיבוּve/hak/SHI/vuand give heedלְאִמְרֵי־פִי׃le/im/RE-fito the words of my mouth

    Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

25. 25

    אַל־יֵשְׂטְal-yestlet not turn asideאֶל־דְּרָכֶיהָel-de/ra/KHE/hato her waysלִבֶּךָlib/BE/khayour heartאַל־תֵּתַעal-TE/tado not go astrayבִּנְתִיבוֹתֶיהָ׃bin/ti/vo/TE/hain her pathways

    Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

26. 26

    כִּי־רַבִּיםki-rab/BIMfor manyחֲלָלִיםcha/la/LIMslainהִפִּילָהhip/PI/lashe has cast downוַעֲצֻמִיםva/a/tsu/MIMand numerous areכׇּל־הֲרֻגֶיהָ׃kol-ha/ru/GE/haall her slain

    For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

27. 27

    דַּרְכֵיdar/KHEis the way toשְׁאוֹלShe/OLSheolבֵּיתָהּbe/TAher houseיֹרְדוֹתyor/DOTgoing downאֶל־חַדְרֵי־מָוֶת׃el-chad/RE-MA/vetto the chambers of death

    Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
