    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

    דַּבֵּרdab/BERspeakאֶל־אַהֲרֹןel-A/ha/RONto Aaronוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himבְּהַעֲלֹתְךָbe/ha/a/lot/KHAwhen you lightאֶת־הַנֵּרֹתet-han/ne/ROTthe lampsאֶל־מוּלel-multowardפְּנֵיpe/NEthe front ofהַמְּנוֹרָהham/me/no/RAthe lampstandיָאִירוּya/I/ruthey shall shineשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenהַנֵּרוֹת׃han/ne/ROTthe lamps

    Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand didכֵּןkensoאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronאֶל־מוּלel-multowardפְּנֵיpe/NEthe front ofהַמְּנוֹרָהham/me/no/RAthe lampstandהֶעֱלָהhe/e/LAhe litנֵרֹתֶיהָne/ro/TE/haits lampsכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃et-Mo/SHEMoses

    And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.

    וְזֶהve/ZEand thisמַעֲשֵׂהma/a/SEthe work ofהַמְּנֹרָהham/me/no/RAthe lampstandמִקְשָׁהmik/SHAhammered workזָהָבza/HAVof goldעַד־יְרֵכָהּad-ye/re/KHAto its baseעַד־פִּרְחָהּad-pir/CHAto its flowersמִקְשָׁהmik/SHAhammered workהִואhivit isכַּמַּרְאֶהkam/mar/Elike the appearanceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֶרְאָהher/Ahad shownיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהet-Mo/SHEMosesכֵּןkensoעָשָׂהa/SAhe madeאֶת־הַמְּנֹרָה׃et-ham/me/no/RAthe lampstand

    And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהel-Mo/SHEto Mosesלֵּאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

    קַחkachtakeאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesמִתּוֹךְmit/TOKHfrom the midst ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְטִהַרְתָּve/ti/har/TAand you shall purifyאֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

    וְכֹה־תַעֲשֶׂהve/KHO-ta/a/SEand thus shall you doלָהֶםla/HEMto themלְטַהֲרָםle/ta/ha/RAMto purify themהַזֵּהhaz/ZEsprinkleעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themמֵיmethe water ofחַטָּאתchat/TATpurificationוְהֶעֱבִירוּve/he/e/VI/ruand let them passתַעַרTA/ara razorעַל־כׇּל־בְּשָׂרָםal-kol-be/sa/RAMupon all their fleshוְכִבְּסוּve/khib/be/SUand let them washבִגְדֵיהֶםvig/de/HEMtheir garmentsוְהִטֶּהָרוּ׃ve/hit/te/HA/ruand they shall purify themselves

    And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

    וְלָקְחוּve/la/ke/CHUand they shall takeפַּרpara bullבֶּן־בָּקָרben-ba/KARyoung of the herdוּמִנְחָתוֹu/min/cha/TOand its grain offeringסֹלֶתSO/letfine flourבְּלוּלָהbe/lu/LAmixedבַשָּׁמֶןvash/SHA/menwith oilוּפַר־שֵׁנִיu/FAR-she/NIand a second bullבֶן־בָּקָרven-ba/KARyoung of the herdתִּקַּחtik/KACHshall you takeלְחַטָּאת׃le/chat/TATfor a sin offering

    Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.

    וְהִקְרַבְתָּve/hik/rav/TAand you shall bringאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֹהֶלO/helthe tent ofמוֹעֵדmo/EDmeetingוְהִקְהַלְתָּve/hik/hal/TAand you shall assembleאֶת־כׇּל־עֲדַתet-kol-a/DATall the congregation ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:

  10. 10

    וְהִקְרַבְתָּve/hik/rav/TAand you shall bringאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְסָמְכוּve/sa/me/KHUand they shall layבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelאֶת־יְדֵיהֶםet-ye/de/HEMtheir handsעַל־הַלְוִיִּם׃al-Hal/viy/YIMupon the Levites

    And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:

  11. 11

    וְהֵנִיףve/he/NIFand shall waveאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesתְּנוּפָהte/nu/FAas a wave offeringלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמֵאֵתme/ETfromבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְהָיוּve/ha/YUthat they may beלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto serveאֶת־עֲבֹדַתet-a/vo/DATthe service ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.

  12. 12

    וְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesיִסְמְכוּyis/me/KHUshall layאֶת־יְדֵיהֶםet-ye/de/HEMtheir handsעַלaluponרֹאשׁroshthe head ofהַפָּרִיםhap/pa/RIMthe bullsוַעֲשֵׂהva/a/SEand offerאֶת־הָאֶחָדet-ha/e/CHADthe oneחַטָּאתchat/TATas a sin offeringוְאֶת־הָאֶחָדve/ET-ha/e/CHADand the otherעֹלָהo/LAas a burnt offeringלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDלְכַפֵּרle/khap/PERto make atonementעַל־הַלְוִיִּם׃al-Hal/viy/YIMfor the Levites

    And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.

    וְהַעֲמַדְתָּve/ha/a/mad/TAand you shall setאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronוְלִפְנֵיve/lif/NEand beforeבָנָיוva/NAYVhis sonsוְהֵנַפְתָּve/he/naf/TAand you shall waveאֹתָםo/TAMthemתְּנוּפָהte/nu/FAas a wave offeringלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaito the LORD

    And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.

  14. 14

    וְהִבְדַּלְתָּve/hiv/dal/TAand you shall separateאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesמִתּוֹךְmit/TOKHfrom the midst ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand shall beלִיlimineהַלְוִיִּם׃Hal/viy/YIMthe Levites

    Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

    וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand after thatיָבֹאוּya/VO/ushall go inהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto serveאֶת־אֹהֶלet-O/helthe tent ofמוֹעֵדmo/EDmeetingוְטִהַרְתָּve/ti/har/TAand you shall purifyאֹתָםo/TAMthemוְהֵנַפְתָּve/he/naf/TAand you shall waveאֹתָםo/TAMthemתְּנוּפָה׃te/nu/FAas a wave offering

    And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.

  16. 16

    כִּיkiforנְתֻנִיםne/tu/NIMgivenנְתֻנִיםne/tu/NIMgivenהֵמָּהHEM/mathey areלִיlito meמִתּוֹךְmit/TOKHfrom the midst ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelתַּחַתTA/chatinstead ofפִּטְרַתpit/RATthose that openכׇּל־רֶחֶםkol-RE/chemevery wombבְּכוֹרbe/KHORthe firstborn ofכֹּלkolallמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEof the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלָקַחְתִּיla/KACH/tiI have takenאֹתָםo/TAMthemלִי׃lito me

    For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.

    כִּיkibecauseלִיlimineכׇל־בְּכוֹרkhol-be/KHORevery firstbornבִּבְנֵיbiv/NEamong the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelבָּאָדָםba/a/DAMof manוּבַבְּהֵמָהu/vab/be/he/MAand of beastבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the dayהַכֹּתִיhak/ko/TII struckכׇל־בְּכוֹרkhol-be/KHORevery firstbornבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptהִקְדַּשְׁתִּיhik/DASH/tiI sanctifiedאֹתָםo/TAMthemלִי׃limine

    For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

    וָאֶקַּחva/ek/KACHand I tookאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe LevitesתַּחַתTA/chatinstead ofכׇּל־בְּכוֹרkol-be/KHORall the firstbornבִּבְנֵיbiv/NEamong the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.

  19. 19

    וָאֶתְּנָהva/et/te/NAand I have givenאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesנְתֻנִיםne/tu/NIMas a giftלְאַהֲרֹןle/A/ha/RONto Aaronוּלְבָנָיוu/le/va/NAYVand to his sonsמִתּוֹךְmit/TOKHfrom the midst ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto serveאֶת־עֲבֹדַתet-a/vo/DATthe service ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלbe/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelבְּאֹהֶלbe/O/helin the tent ofמוֹעֵדmo/EDmeetingוּלְכַפֵּרu/le/khap/PERand to make atonementעַל־בְּנֵיal-be/NEfor the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְלֹאve/LOand notיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beבִּבְנֵיbiv/NEamong the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelנֶגֶףNE/gefplagueבְּגֶשֶׁתbe/GE/shetwhen come nearבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלbe/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelאֶל־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃el-hak/KO/deshto the sanctuary

    And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand didמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesוְאַהֲרֹןve/A/ha/RONand Aaronוְכׇל־עֲדַתve/KHOL-a/DATand all the congregation ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלbe/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of IsraelלַלְוִיִּםLal/viy/YIMto the Levitesכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהa/SHER-tsiv/VAthat commandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהet-Mo/SHEMosesלַלְוִיִּםLal/viy/YIMto the Levitesכֵּן־עָשׂוּken-a/SUso didלָהֶםla/HEMto themבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.

    וַיִּתְחַטְּאוּvay/yit/chat/te/Uand purified themselvesהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesוַיְכַבְּסוּvay/khab/be/SUand they washedבִּגְדֵיהֶםbig/de/HEMtheir garmentsוַיָּנֶףvay/YA/nefand wavedאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronאֹתָםo/TAMthemתְּנוּפָהte/nu/FAa wave offeringלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיְכַפֵּרvay/khap/PERand he made atonementעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMfor themאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronלְטַהֲרָם׃le/ta/ha/RAMto purify them

    And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the LORD; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.

    וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand after thatבָּאוּBA/uwent inהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto serveאֶת־עֲבֹדָתָםet-a/vo/da/TAMtheir serviceבְּאֹהֶלbe/O/helin the tent ofמוֹעֵדmo/EDmeetingלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronוְלִפְנֵיve/lif/NEand beforeבָנָיוva/NAYVhis sonsכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהet-Mo/SHEMosesעַל־הַלְוִיִּםal-Hal/viy/YIMconcerning the Levitesכֵּןkensoעָשׂוּa/SUthey didלָהֶם׃la/HEMto them

    And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.

  23. 23

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהel-Mo/SHEto Mosesלֵּאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

  24. 24

    זֹאתzotthis isאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhat isלַלְוִיִּםLal/viy/YIMfor the Levitesמִבֶּןmib/BENfromחָמֵשׁcha/MESHfiveוְעֶשְׂרִיםve/es/RIMand twentyשָׁנָהsha/NAyears oldוָמַעְלָהva/MA/laand upwardיָבוֹאya/VOhe shall go inלִצְבֹאlits/VOto performצָבָאtsa/VAthe serviceבַּעֲבֹדַתba/a/vo/DATin the work ofאֹהֶלO/helthe tent ofמוֹעֵד׃mo/EDmeeting

    This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:

  25. 25

    וּמִבֶּןu/mib/BENand fromחֲמִשִּׁיםcha/mish/SHIMfiftyשָׁנָהsha/NAyears oldיָשׁוּבya/SHUVhe shall returnמִצְּבָאmits/tse/VAfrom the service ofהָעֲבֹדָהha/a/vo/DAthe workוְלֹאve/LOand notיַעֲבֹדya/a/VODhe shall serveעוֹד׃odany more

    And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:

  26. 26

    וְשֵׁרֵתve/she/RETbut he shall minister withאֶת־אֶחָיוet-e/CHAYVhis brothersבְּאֹהֶלbe/O/helin the tent ofמוֹעֵדmo/EDmeetingלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepמִשְׁמֶרֶתmish/ME/retthe chargeוַעֲבֹדָהva/a/vo/DAbut serviceלֹאlonotיַעֲבֹדya/a/VODhe shall serveכָּכָהKA/khathusתַּעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEshall you doלַלְוִיִּםLal/viy/YIMto the Levitesבְּמִשְׁמְרֹתָם׃be/mish/me/ro/TAMconcerning their charges

    But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.
