    וַיְדַבֵּרand spokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesלֵּאמֹר׃saying

    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

    דַּבֵּרspeakאֶל־אַהֲרֹןto Aaronוְאָמַרְתָּand sayאֵלָיוto himבְּהַעֲלֹתְךָwhen you set upאֶת־הַנֵּרֹתthe lampsאֶל־מוּלfacingפְּנֵיface ofהַמְּנוֹרָהthe lampstandיָאִירוּthey shall shineשִׁבְעַתsevenהַנֵּרוֹת׃the lamps

    Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.

    וַיַּעַשׂand he didכֵּןthusאַהֲרֹןAaronאֶל־מוּלfacingפְּנֵיface ofהַמְּנוֹרָהthe lampstandהֶעֱלָהhe set upנֵרֹתֶיהָits lampsכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃Moses

    And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.

    וְזֶהand thisמַעֲשֵׂהwork ofהַמְּנֹרָהthe lampstandמִקְשָׁהhammered workזָהָבgoldעַד־יְרֵכָהּunto its baseעַד־פִּרְחָהּunto its blossomמִקְשָׁהhammered workהִואit isכַּמַּרְאֶהlike the appearanceאֲשֶׁרwhichהֶרְאָהshowedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהMosesכֵּןthusעָשָׂהhe madeאֶת־הַמְּנֹרָה׃the lampstand

    And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.

    וַיְדַבֵּרand spokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesלֵּאמֹר׃saying

    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

  6. 6

    קַחtakeאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesמִתּוֹךְfrom the midst ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוְטִהַרְתָּand you will purifyאֹתָם׃them

    Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

    וְכֹה־תַעֲשֶׂהand thus makeלָהֶםto themלְטַהֲרָםto purify themהַזֵּהspatterעֲלֵיהֶםupon themמֵיthe waters ofחַטָּאתsinוְהֶעֱבִירוּand they will cause to passתַעַרa razorעַל־כׇּל־בְּשָׂרָםupon all their fleshוְכִבְּסוּand they will washבִגְדֵיהֶםtheir garmentsוְהִטֶּהָרוּ׃and they will purify themselves

    And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

    וְלָקְחוּand they will takeפַּרa bullockבֶּן־בָּקָרyoung of the herdוּמִנְחָתוֹand its grain offeringסֹלֶתfine flourבְּלוּלָהmixedבַשָּׁמֶןwith the oilוּפַר־שֵׁנִיand a second bullockבֶן־בָּקָרyoung of the herdתִּקַּחyou shall takeלְחַטָּאת׃to a sin offering

    Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.

    וְהִקְרַבְתָּand you will bring nearאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesלִפְנֵיbeforeאֹהֶלthe tent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationוְהִקְהַלְתָּand you will assembleאֶת־כׇּל־עֲדַתall congregation ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

    And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:

  10. 10

    וְהִקְרַבְתָּand you will bring nearאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָהthe LORDוְסָמְכוּand they will layבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelאֶת־יְדֵיהֶםtheir handsעַל־הַלְוִיִּם׃upon the Levites

    And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:

  11. 11

    וְהֵנִיףand shall waveאַהֲרֹןAaronאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesתְּנוּפָהa wave offeringלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָהthe LORDמֵאֵתfromבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוְהָיוּthen they shall beלַעֲבֹדto serveאֶת־עֲבֹדַתthe service ofיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.

  12. 12

    וְהַלְוִיִּםand the Levitesיִסְמְכוּshall layאֶת־יְדֵיהֶםtheir handsעַלuponרֹאשׁthe head ofהַפָּרִיםthe young bullsוַעֲשֵׂהand doאֶת־הָאֶחָדthe oneחַטָּאתsinוְאֶת־הָאֶחָדand the oneעֹלָהa burnt offeringלַיהֹוָהto the LORDלְכַפֵּרto make atonementעַל־הַלְוִיִּם׃upon the Levites

    And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.

  13. 13

    וְהַעֲמַדְתָּand you will make standאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםthe LevitesלִפְנֵיbeforeאַהֲרֹןAaronוְלִפְנֵיand beforeבָנָיוhis sonsוְהֵנַפְתָּand you will waveאֹתָםthemתְּנוּפָהa wave offeringלַיהֹוָה׃to the LORD

    And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.

  14. 14

    וְהִבְדַּלְתָּand you will separateאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesמִתּוֹךְfrom the midst ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוְהָיוּthen they shall beלִיto meהַלְוִיִּם׃the Levites

    Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

  15. 15

    וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןand after thusיָבֹאוּcomeהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesלַעֲבֹדto serveאֶת־אֹהֶלtent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationוְטִהַרְתָּand you will purifyאֹתָםthemוְהֵנַפְתָּand you will waveאֹתָםthemתְּנוּפָה׃a wave offering

    And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.

  16. 16

    כִּיforנְתֻנִיםare assignedנְתֻנִיםare assignedהֵמָּהtheyלִיto meמִתּוֹךְfrom the midst ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelתַּחַתunderפִּטְרַתthe opener ofכׇּל־רֶחֶםevery wombבְּכוֹרthe firstborn ofכֹּלallמִבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelלָקַחְתִּיI have takenאֹתָםthemלִי׃to me

    For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.

  17. 17

    כִּיbecauseלִיto meכׇל־בְּכוֹרall the firstborn ofבִּבְנֵיamong sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelבָּאָדָםin manוּבַבְּהֵמָהand over the livestockבְּיוֹםin the day ofהַכֹּתִיI struckכׇל־בְּכוֹרall the firstborn ofבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofמִצְרַיִםEgyptהִקְדַּשְׁתִּיI sanctifiedאֹתָםthemלִי׃to me

    For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

  18. 18

    וָאֶקַּחand I tookאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesתַּחַתunderכׇּל־בְּכוֹרall the firstborn ofבִּבְנֵיamong sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

    And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.

  19. 19

    וָאֶתְּנָהand I have givenאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesנְתֻנִיםare assignedלְאַהֲרֹןto Aaronוּלְבָנָיוand for his sonsמִתּוֹךְfrom the midst ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelלַעֲבֹדto serveאֶת־עֲבֹדַתthe service ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelבְּאֹהֶלin the tent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationוּלְכַפֵּרand to make atonementעַל־בְּנֵיupon the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוְלֹאand notיִהְיֶהshall beבִּבְנֵיamong sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelנֶגֶףplagueבְּגֶשֶׁתwhen draw nearבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelאֶל־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃to the sanctuary

    And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

    וַיַּעַשׂand didמֹשֶׁהMosesוְאַהֲרֹןand Aaronוְכׇל־עֲדַתand all congregation ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelלַלְוִיִּםto the Levitesכְּכֹלaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהwhich commandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהMosesלַלְוִיִּםto the Levitesכֵּן־עָשׂוּthus they didלָהֶםto themבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

    And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.

  21. 21

    וַיִּתְחַטְּאוּand they purified themselvesהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesוַיְכַבְּסוּand they washedבִּגְדֵיהֶםtheir garmentsוַיָּנֶףand wavedאַהֲרֹןAaronאֹתָםthemתְּנוּפָהa wave offeringלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָהthe LORDוַיְכַפֵּרand he made atonementעֲלֵיהֶםupon themאַהֲרֹןAaronלְטַהֲרָם׃to purify them

    And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the LORD; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.

  22. 22

    וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןand after thusבָּאוּcameהַלְוִיִּםthe Levitesלַעֲבֹדto serveאֶת־עֲבֹדָתָםtheir serviceבְּאֹהֶלin the tent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationלִפְנֵיbeforeאַהֲרֹןAaronוְלִפְנֵיand beforeבָנָיוhis sonsכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהMosesעַל־הַלְוִיִּםupon the Levitesכֵּןthusעָשׂוּthey didלָהֶם׃to them

    And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.

  23. 23

    וַיְדַבֵּרand spokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesלֵּאמֹר׃saying

    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

  24. 24

    זֹאתthisאֲשֶׁרwhichלַלְוִיִּםto the Levitesמִבֶּןfrom a son ofחָמֵשׁfiveוְעֶשְׂרִיםand twentyשָׁנָהyearsוָמַעְלָהand upwardsיָבוֹאshall comeלִצְבֹאto serveצָבָאan armyבַּעֲבֹדַתin the service ofאֹהֶלthe tent ofמוֹעֵד׃the congregation

    This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:

  25. 25

    וּמִבֶּןand from a son ofחֲמִשִּׁיםfiftyשָׁנָהyearsיָשׁוּבhe shall returnמִצְּבָאfrom armyהָעֲבֹדָהthe laborוְלֹאand notיַעֲבֹדhe shall serveעוֹד׃any more

    And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:

  26. 26

    וְשֵׁרֵתand he will serveאֶת־אֶחָיוhis brothersבְּאֹהֶלin the tent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationלִשְׁמֹרto keepמִשְׁמֶרֶתthe charge ofוַעֲבֹדָהand serviceלֹאnotיַעֲבֹדhe shall serveכָּכָהthusתַּעֲשֶׂהyou makeלַלְוִיִּםto the Levitesבְּמִשְׁמְרֹתָם׃in their duties

    But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.
