   וַיִּקְרְבוּand they drew nearרָאשֵׁיthe heads ofהָאָבוֹתthe fathersלְמִשְׁפַּחַתof the family ofבְּנֵי־גִלְעָדsons of Gileadבֶּן־מָכִירson of Machirבֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁהson of Manassehמִמִּשְׁפְּחֹתfrom the families ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיוֹסֵףJosephוַיְדַבְּרוּand spokeלִפְנֵיbeforeמֹשֶׁהMosesוְלִפְנֵיand beforeהַנְּשִׂאִיםthe leadersרָאשֵׁיthe heads ofאָבוֹתthe fathersלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

   And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:

   וַיֹּאמְרוּand they saidאֶת־אֲדֹנִיmy lordצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDלָתֵתto giveאֶת־הָאָרֶץthe landבְּנַחֲלָהan inheritanceבְּגוֹרָלby lotלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוַאדֹנִיand my lordצֻוָּהcommandedבַיהֹוָהby the LORDלָתֵתto giveאֶת־נַחֲלַתthe inheritance ofצְלׇפְחָדZelophehadאָחִינוּour brotherלִבְנֹתָיו׃to his daughters

   And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.

   וְהָיוּthen they shall beלְאֶחָדto oneמִבְּנֵיthe sons ofשִׁבְטֵיtribes ofבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelלְנָשִׁיםfor wivesוְנִגְרְעָהand it will be withdrawnנַחֲלָתָןtheir inheritanceמִנַּחֲלַתsome of the inheritance ofאֲבֹתֵינוּour fathersוְנוֹסַףand it will be addedעַלuponנַחֲלַתthe inheritance ofהַמַּטֶּהthe tribeאֲשֶׁרwhichתִּהְיֶינָהthere shall beלָהֶםto themוּמִגֹּרַלand from the lot ofנַחֲלָתֵנוּour inheritanceיִגָּרֵעַ׃it will be withdrawn

   And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

   וְאִם־יִהְיֶהand if he shall beהַיֹּבֵלthe jubileeלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוְנוֹסְפָהand it will be addedנַחֲלָתָןtheir inheritanceעַלuponנַחֲלַתthe inheritance ofהַמַּטֶּהthe tribeאֲשֶׁרwhichתִּהְיֶינָהthere shall beלָהֶםto themוּמִנַּחֲלַתand from the inheritance ofמַטֵּהthe tribe ofאֲבֹתֵינוּour fathersיִגָּרַעwill it be withdrawnנַחֲלָתָן׃their inheritance

   And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.

   וַיְצַוand commandedמֹשֶׁהMosesאֶת־בְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelעַל־פִּיaccording toיְהֹוָהthe LORDלֵאמֹרsayingכֵּןthusמַטֵּהthe tribe ofבְנֵי־יוֹסֵףsons of Josephדֹּבְרִים׃is speaking

   And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.

   זֶהthisהַדָּבָרthe wordאֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהwhich commandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDלִבְנוֹתconcerning the daughters ofצְלׇפְחָדZelophehadלֵאמֹרsayingלַטּוֹבto the goodבְּעֵינֵיהֶםin their eyesתִּהְיֶינָהthere shall beלְנָשִׁיםfor wivesאַךְbutלְמִשְׁפַּחַתof the family ofמַטֵּהthe tribe ofאֲבִיהֶםtheir fatherתִּהְיֶינָהthere shall beלְנָשִׁים׃for wives

   This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.

   וְלֹא־תִסֹּבand not it will go aboutנַחֲלָהinheritanceלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelמִמַּטֶּהfrom a tribeאֶל־מַטֶּהto the tribeכִּיforאִישׁeachבְּנַחֲלַתon the inheritance ofמַטֵּהthe tribe ofאֲבֹתָיוhis fathersיִדְבְּקוּshall cleaveבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

   So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

   וְכׇל־בַּתand all daughter ofיֹרֶשֶׁתwho possessesנַחֲלָהinheritanceמִמַּטּוֹתfrom the tribes ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelלְאֶחָדto oneמִמִּשְׁפַּחַתof the family ofמַטֵּהthe tribe ofאָבִיהָher fatherתִּהְיֶהshall beלְאִשָּׁהfor wifeלְמַעַןin order thatיִירְשׁוּthey possessבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelאִישׁeachנַחֲלַתthe inheritance ofאֲבֹתָיו׃his fathers

   And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.

   וְלֹא־תִסֹּבand not it will go aboutנַחֲלָהinheritanceמִמַּטֶּהfrom a tribeלְמַטֶּהa tribeאַחֵרotherכִּי־אִישׁbecause eachבְּנַחֲלָתוֹon its own inheritanceיִדְבְּקוּshall cleaveמַטּוֹתthe tribes ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

   Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.

    כַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהMosesכֵּןthusעָשׂוּthey didבְּנוֹתthe daughters ofצְלׇפְחָד׃Zelophehad

    Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad:

11. 11

    וַתִּהְיֶינָהnow there wereמַחְלָהMahlahתִרְצָהTirzahוְחׇגְלָהand Hoglahוּמִלְכָּהand Milcahוְנֹעָהand Noahבְּנוֹתthe daughters ofצְלׇפְחָדZelophehadלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofדֹדֵיהֶןtheir unclesלְנָשִׁים׃for wives

    For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their father's brothers' sons:

12. 12

    מִמִּשְׁפְּחֹתfrom the families ofבְּנֵי־מְנַשֶּׁהsons of Manassehבֶן־יוֹסֵףson of Josephהָיוּwereלְנָשִׁיםfor wivesוַתְּהִיand wasנַחֲלָתָןtheir inheritanceעַל־מַטֵּהupon the tribe ofמִשְׁפַּחַתfamily ofאֲבִיהֶן׃their father

    And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

13. 13

    אֵלֶּהtheseהַמִּצְוֺתthe commandmentsוְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםand the judgmentsאֲשֶׁרwhichצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּיַד־מֹשֶׁהin the hand of Mosesאֶל־בְּנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelבְּעַרְבֹתin the plains ofמוֹאָבMoabעַלuponיַרְדֵּןJordanיְרֵחוֹ׃of Jericho

    These are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
