   וַיְדַבֵּרand spokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesלֵּאמֹר׃saying

   And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

   נְקֹםavengeנִקְמַתthe vengeance ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelמֵאֵתfromהַמִּדְיָנִיםthe Midianitesאַחַרafterתֵּאָסֵףyou shall be gatheredאֶל־עַמֶּיךָ׃to your people

   Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.

   וַיְדַבֵּרand spokeמֹשֶׁהMosesאֶל־הָעָםto the peopleלֵאמֹרsayingהֵחָלְצוּbe equippedמֵאִתְּכֶםof youאֲנָשִׁיםmenלַצָּבָאfor warוְיִהְיוּand they wereעַל־מִדְיָןupon Midianלָתֵתto giveנִקְמַת־יְהֹוָהthe vengeance of the LORDבְּמִדְיָן׃in Midian

   And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.

   אֶלֶףthousandלַמַּטֶּהto the tribeאֶלֶףthousandלַמַּטֶּהto the tribeלְכֹלfor allמַטּוֹתthe tribes ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelתִּשְׁלְחוּyou layלַצָּבָא׃for war

   Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.

   וַיִּמָּסְרוּand they deliveredמֵאַלְפֵיfrom the thousands ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelאֶלֶףthousandלַמַּטֶּהto the tribeשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרtwelveאֶלֶףthousandחֲלוּצֵיarmed men ofצָבָא׃an army

   So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

   וַיִּשְׁלַחand sentאֹתָםthemמֹשֶׁהMosesאֶלֶףthousandלַמַּטֶּהto the tribeלַצָּבָאfor warאֹתָםthemוְאֶת־פִּינְחָסand Phinehasבֶּן־אֶלְעָזָרson of Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestלַצָּבָאfor warוּכְלֵיand the vessels ofהַקֹּדֶשׁthe sanctuaryוַחֲצֹצְרוֹתand the trumpets ofהַתְּרוּעָהthe alarmבְּיָדוֹ׃in his hand

   And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.

   וַיִּצְבְּאוּand they waged warעַל־מִדְיָןupon Midianכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהMosesוַיַּהַרְגוּand slewכׇּל־זָכָר׃all male

   And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.

   וְאֶת־מַלְכֵיand the kings ofמִדְיָןMidianהָרְגוּhad slainעַל־חַלְלֵיהֶםupon their slainאֶת־אֱוִיEviוְאֶת־רֶקֶםand Rekemוְאֶת־צוּרand Zurוְאֶת־חוּרand Hurוְאֶת־רֶבַעand Rebaחֲמֵשֶׁתfiveמַלְכֵיthe kings ofמִדְיָןMidianוְאֵתandבִּלְעָםBalaamבֶּן־בְּעוֹרson of Beorהָרְגוּhad slainבֶּחָרֶב׃by the sword

   And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

   וַיִּשְׁבּוּand they took captiveבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelאֶת־נְשֵׁיthe women ofמִדְיָןMidianוְאֶת־טַפָּםand their childrenוְאֵתandכׇּל־בְּהֶמְתָּםall their animalsוְאֶת־כׇּל־מִקְנֵהֶםand all their livestockוְאֶת־כׇּל־חֵילָםand all their forcesבָּזָזוּ׃they plundered

   And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.

    וְאֵתandכׇּל־עָרֵיהֶםall their citiesבְּמוֹשְׁבֹתָםin their dwelling placesוְאֵתandכׇּל־טִירֹתָםall their encampmentsשָׂרְפוּthey burnedבָּאֵשׁ׃by fire

    And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.

    וַיִּקְחוּand they tookאֶת־כׇּל־הַשָּׁלָלall the plunderוְאֵתandכׇּל־הַמַּלְקוֹחַall the bootyבָּאָדָםin manוּבַבְּהֵמָה׃and over the livestock

    And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.

    וַיָּבִאוּand they broughtאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesוְאֶל־אֶלְעָזָרand Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestוְאֶל־עֲדַתand congregation ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelאֶת־הַשְּׁבִיthe captivesוְאֶת־הַמַּלְקוֹחַand the bootyוְאֶת־הַשָּׁלָלand the plunderאֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶהto the campאֶל־עַרְבֹתto the plains ofמוֹאָבMoabאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־יַרְדֵּןupon Jordanיְרֵחוֹ׃of Jericho

    And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.

    וַיֵּצְאוּand departedמֹשֶׁהMosesוְאֶלְעָזָרand Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestוְכׇל־נְשִׂיאֵיand all leaders ofהָעֵדָהthe congregationלִקְרָאתָםto meet themאֶל־מִחוּץto withoutלַמַּחֲנֶה׃the camp

    And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.

14. 14

    וַיִּקְצֹףand was wrothמֹשֶׁהMosesעַלuponפְּקוּדֵיthose who were enrolled ofהֶחָיִלthe armyשָׂרֵיcaptains ofהָאֲלָפִיםthe thousandsוְשָׂרֵיand captains ofהַמֵּאוֹתthe hundredהַבָּאִיםwho cameמִצְּבָאfrom armyהַמִּלְחָמָה׃the battle

    And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.

15. 15

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֲלֵיהֶםto themמֹשֶׁהMosesהַחִיִּיתֶםhave you let liveכׇּל־נְקֵבָה׃all a female

    And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?

16. 16

    הֵןbeholdהֵנָּהtheseהָיוּwereלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelבִּדְבַרby the counsel ofבִּלְעָםBalaamלִמְסׇר־מַעַלto commit trespassבַּיהֹוָהin the LORDעַל־דְּבַר־פְּעוֹרupon the word of Peorוַתְּהִיand wasהַמַּגֵּפָהthe plagueבַּעֲדַתin the congregation ofיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

17. 17

    וְעַתָּהand nowהִרְגוּkillכׇל־זָכָרall maleבַּטָּףamong the little onesוְכׇל־אִשָּׁהand all a womanיֹדַעַתwho has knownאִישׁa manלְמִשְׁכַּבto the lying ofזָכָרmaleהֲרֹגוּ׃kill

    Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

18. 18

    וְכֹלand allהַטַּףthe little onesבַּנָּשִׁיםamong the womenאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יָדְעוּknow notמִשְׁכַּבlying ofזָכָרmaleהַחֲיוּkeep aliveלָכֶם׃to you

    But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

19. 19

    וְאַתֶּםand youחֲנוּencampמִחוּץwithoutלַמַּחֲנֶהthe campשִׁבְעַתsevenיָמִיםdaysכֹּלallהֹרֵגone who killsנֶפֶשׁsoulוְכֹלand allנֹגֵעַone who has touchedבֶּחָלָלthe one slainתִּתְחַטְּאוּyou will purify yourselvesבַּיּוֹםin the dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיthe thirdוּבַיּוֹםand in the dayהַשְּׁבִיעִיthe seventhאַתֶּםyou areוּשְׁבִיכֶם׃and your captives

    And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.

20. 20

    וְכׇל־בֶּגֶדand all garmentוְכׇל־כְּלִי־עוֹרand any article of skinוְכׇל־מַעֲשֵׂהand all work ofעִזִּיםgoatsוְכׇל־כְּלִי־עֵץand every article of woodתִּתְחַטָּאוּ׃you will purify yourselves

    And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats' hair, and all things made of wood.

21. 21

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֶלְעָזָרEleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestאֶל־אַנְשֵׁיto the men ofהַצָּבָאthe armyהַבָּאִיםwho cameלַמִּלְחָמָהto the warזֹאתthisחֻקַּתa statute ofהַתּוֹרָהthe Lawאֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהwhich commandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃Moses

    And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;

22. 22

    אַךְbutאֶת־הַזָּהָבthe goldוְאֶת־הַכָּסֶףand the silverאֶת־הַנְּחֹשֶׁתthe brassאֶת־הַבַּרְזֶלthe ironאֶת־הַבְּדִילthe tinוְאֶת־הָעֹפָרֶת׃and the lead

    Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

23. 23

    כׇּל־דָּבָרall thingsאֲשֶׁר־יָבֹאwhich shall comeבָאֵשׁin fireתַּעֲבִירוּyou will cause to passבָאֵשׁin fireוְטָהֵרand it shall be cleanאַךְbutבְּמֵיin the waters ofנִדָּהimpurityיִתְחַטָּאhe will purify himselfוְכֹלand allאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יָבֹאnot shall comeבָּאֵשׁby fireתַּעֲבִירוּyou will cause to passבַמָּיִם׃by the water

    Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water.

24. 24

    וְכִבַּסְתֶּםand you will washבִּגְדֵיכֶםyour garmentsבַּיּוֹםin the dayהַשְּׁבִיעִיthe seventhוּטְהַרְתֶּםand you will be pureוְאַחַרand thenתָּבֹאוּshould enterאֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶה׃to the camp

    And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.

25. 25

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesלֵּאמֹר׃saying

    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

26. 26

    שָׂאlift upאֵת־רֹאשׁthe head ofמַלְקוֹחַthe preyהַשְּׁבִיthe captivesבָּאָדָםin manוּבַבְּהֵמָהand over the livestockאַתָּהyouוְאֶלְעָזָרand Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestוְרָאשֵׁיand the heads ofאֲבוֹתthe ancestors ofהָעֵדָה׃the congregation

    Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:

27. 27

    וְחָצִיתָand you will divideאֶת־הַמַּלְקוֹחַthe bootyבֵּיןamongתֹּפְשֵׂיthose who took part inהַמִּלְחָמָהthe battleהַיֹּצְאִיםthose who went outלַצָּבָאfor warוּבֵיןand betweenכׇּל־הָעֵדָה׃all the congregation

    And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:

28. 28

    וַהֲרֵמֹתָand you will raiseמֶכֶסa taxלַיהֹוָהto the LORDמֵאֵתfromאַנְשֵׁיthe men ofהַמִּלְחָמָהthe battleהַיֹּצְאִיםthose who went outלַצָּבָאfor the serviceאֶחָדoneנֶפֶשׁsoulמֵחֲמֵשׁfrom the fiveהַמֵּאוֹתthe hundredמִן־הָאָדָםfrom the manוּמִן־הַבָּקָרand from the herdוּמִן־הַחֲמֹרִיםand from the donkeysוּמִן־הַצֹּאן׃and from the flock

    And levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep:

29. 29

    מִמַּחֲצִיתָםfrom their halfתִּקָּחוּyou will takeוְנָתַתָּהand you shall giveלְאֶלְעָזָרto Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestתְּרוּמַתoffering ofיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.

30. 30

    וּמִמַּחֲצִתand from the half ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelתִּקַּחyou shall takeאֶחָדoneאָחֻזportionמִן־הַחֲמִשִּׁיםfrom the fiftyמִן־הָאָדָםfrom the manמִן־הַבָּקָרfrom the herdמִן־הַחֲמֹרִיםfrom the donkeysוּמִן־הַצֹּאןand from the flockמִכׇּל־הַבְּהֵמָהfrom all the livestockוְנָתַתָּהand you shall giveאֹתָםthemלַלְוִיִּםto the Levitesשֹׁמְרֵיthe keepers ofמִשְׁמֶרֶתthe charge ofמִשְׁכַּןthe tabernacle ofיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.

31. 31

    וַיַּעַשׂand madeמֹשֶׁהMosesוְאֶלְעָזָרand Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃Moses

    And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.

32. 32

    וַיְהִיand it came to passהַמַּלְקוֹחַthe bootyיֶתֶרthe remainder ofהַבָּזthe preyאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּזְזוּthey had plunderedעַםthe people ofהַצָּבָאthe armyצֹאןflocksשֵׁשׁ־מֵאוֹתsix hundredאֶלֶףthousandוְשִׁבְעִיםand seventyאֶלֶףthousandוַחֲמֵשֶׁתand fiveאֲלָפִים׃thousand

    And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,

33. 33

    וּבָקָרand herdsשְׁנַיִםtwoוְשִׁבְעִיםand seventyאָלֶף׃thousand

    And threescore and twelve thousand beeves,

34. 34

    וַחֲמֹרִיםand male donkeysאֶחָדoneוְשִׁשִּׁיםand sixtyאָלֶף׃thousand

    And threescore and one thousand asses,

35. 35

    וְנֶפֶשׁand soulאָדָםmanמִן־הַנָּשִׁיםfrom the womenאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יָדְעוּknow notמִשְׁכַּבlying ofזָכָרmaleכׇּל־נֶפֶשׁall soulשְׁנַיִםtwoוּשְׁלֹשִׁיםand thirtyאָלֶף׃thousand

    And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him.

36. 36

    וַתְּהִיand wasהַמֶּחֱצָהthe halfחֵלֶקthe portion ofהַיֹּצְאִיםthose who went outבַּצָּבָאin the armyמִסְפַּרthe number ofהַצֹּאןthe flockשְׁלֹשׁ־מֵאוֹתthree hundredאֶלֶףthousandוּשְׁלֹשִׁיםand thirtyאֶלֶףthousandוְשִׁבְעַתand sevenאֲלָפִיםthousandוַחֲמֵשׁand fiveמֵאוֹת׃hundred

    And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:

37. 37

    וַיְהִיand it came to passהַמֶּכֶסthe taxלַיהֹוָהto the LORDמִן־הַצֹּאןfrom the flockשֵׁשׁsixמֵאוֹתhundredחָמֵשׁfiveוְשִׁבְעִים׃and seventy

    And the LORD's tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen.

38. 38

    וְהַבָּקָרand the cattleשִׁשָּׁהsixוּשְׁלֹשִׁיםand thirtyאָלֶףthousandוּמִכְסָםand their taxלַיהֹוָהto the LORDשְׁנַיִםtwoוְשִׁבְעִים׃and seventy

    And the beeves were thirty and six thousand; of which the LORD's tribute was threescore and twelve.

39. 39

    וַחֲמֹרִיםand male donkeysשְׁלֹשִׁיםthirtyאֶלֶףthousandוַחֲמֵשׁand fiveמֵאוֹתhundredוּמִכְסָםand their taxלַיהֹוָהto the LORDאֶחָדoneוְשִׁשִּׁים׃and sixty

    And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; of which the LORD's tribute was threescore and one.

40. 40

    וְנֶפֶשׁand soulאָדָםmanשִׁשָּׁה־עָשָׂרsixteenאָלֶףthousandוּמִכְסָםand their taxלַיהֹוָהto the LORDשְׁנַיִםtwoוּשְׁלֹשִׁיםand thirtyנָפֶשׁ׃souls

    And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the LORD's tribute was thirty and two persons.

41. 41

    וַיִּתֵּןand gaveמֹשֶׁהMosesאֶת־מֶכֶסa taxתְּרוּמַתoffering ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDלְאֶלְעָזָרto Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃Moses

    And Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD's heave offering, unto Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.

42. 42

    וּמִמַּחֲצִיתand from the half ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelאֲשֶׁרwhichחָצָהhad dividedמֹשֶׁהMosesמִן־הָאֲנָשִׁיםfrom the menהַצֹּבְאִים׃who warred

    And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses divided from the men that warred,

43. 43

    וַתְּהִיand wasמֶחֱצַתthe half ofהָעֵדָהthe congregationמִן־הַצֹּאןfrom the flockשְׁלֹשׁ־מֵאוֹתthree hundredאֶלֶףthousandוּשְׁלֹשִׁיםand thirtyאֶלֶףthousandשִׁבְעַתsevenאֲלָפִיםthousandוַחֲמֵשׁand fiveמֵאוֹת׃hundred

    (Now the half that pertained unto the congregation was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep,

44. 44

    וּבָקָרand herdsשִׁשָּׁהsixוּשְׁלֹשִׁיםand thirtyאָלֶף׃thousand

    And thirty and six thousand beeves,

45. 45

    וַחֲמֹרִיםand male donkeysשְׁלֹשִׁיםthirtyאֶלֶףthousandוַחֲמֵשׁand fiveמֵאוֹת׃hundred

    And thirty thousand asses and five hundred,

46. 46

    וְנֶפֶשׁand soulאָדָםmanשִׁשָּׁה־עָשָׂרsixteenאָלֶף׃thousand

    וַיִּקַּחand tookמֹשֶׁהMosesמִמַּחֲצִתfrom the half ofבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלsons of Israelאֶת־הָאָחֻזthe portion takenאֶחָדoneמִן־הַחֲמִשִּׁיםfrom the fiftyמִן־הָאָדָםfrom the manוּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָהand from the livestockוַיִּתֵּןand gaveאֹתָםthemלַלְוִיִּםto the Levitesשֹׁמְרֵיthe keepers ofמִשְׁמֶרֶתthe charge ofמִשְׁכַּןthe tabernacle ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃Moses

    Even of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

    וַיִּקְרְבוּand they drew nearאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesהַפְּקֻדִיםthe ones enrolledאֲשֶׁרwhichלְאַלְפֵיthousands ofהַצָּבָאthe armyשָׂרֵיcaptains ofהָאֲלָפִיםthe thousandsוְשָׂרֵיand captains ofהַמֵּאוֹת׃the hundred

    And the officers which were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near unto Moses:

49. 49

    וַיֹּאמְרוּand they saidאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesעֲבָדֶיךָyour servantsנָשְׂאוּtookאֶת־רֹאשׁhead ofאַנְשֵׁיthe men ofהַמִּלְחָמָהthe battleאֲשֶׁרwhichבְּיָדֵנוּin our handוְלֹא־נִפְקַדand not he is missingמִמֶּנּוּfrom himאִישׁ׃a man

    And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.

50. 50

    וַנַּקְרֵבand we have brought nearאֶת־קׇרְבַּןofferingיְהֹוָהthe LORDאִישׁeachאֲשֶׁרwhichמָצָאfoundכְלִי־זָהָבan article of goldאֶצְעָדָהan armletוְצָמִידand a braceletטַבַּעַתa signet ringעָגִילan earringוְכוּמָזand ornamentsלְכַפֵּרto make atonementעַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵינוּupon our selvesלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.

51. 51

    וַיִּקַּחand tookמֹשֶׁהMosesוְאֶלְעָזָרand Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestאֶת־הַזָּהָבthe goldמֵאִתָּםof themכֹּלallכְּלִיthe articleמַעֲשֶׂה׃of workmanship

    And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels.

    וַיְהִיand it came to passכׇּל־זְהַבall the gold ofהַתְּרוּמָהthe offeringאֲשֶׁרwhichהֵרִימוּthey offeredלַיהֹוָהto the LORDשִׁשָּׁה־עָשָׂרsixteenאֶלֶףthousandשְׁבַע־מֵאוֹתseven hundredוַחֲמִשִּׁיםand fiftyשָׁקֶלshekelsמֵאֵתfromשָׂרֵיcaptains ofהָאֲלָפִיםthe thousandsוּמֵאֵתand from withשָׂרֵיcaptains ofהַמֵּאוֹת׃the hundred

    And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.

53. 53

    אַנְשֵׁיthe men ofהַצָּבָאthe armyבָּזְזוּthey had plunderedאִישׁeachלוֹ׃for himself

    (For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.)

54. 54

    וַיִּקַּחand tookמֹשֶׁהMosesוְאֶלְעָזָרand Eleazarהַכֹּהֵןthe priestאֶת־הַזָּהָבthe goldמֵאֵתfromשָׂרֵיcaptains ofהָאֲלָפִיםthe thousandsוְהַמֵּאוֹתand the hundredsוַיָּבִאוּand they broughtאֹתוֹitאֶל־אֹהֶלto the tent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationזִכָּרוֹןremembranceלִבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלunto the sons of Israelלִפְנֵיbeforeיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
