Numbers 30 בְּמִדְבַּר פרק ל׳

1. 1

   וַיֹּאמֶרand saidמֹשֶׁהMosesאֶל־בְּנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelכְּכֹלaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהwhich commandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃Moses

   And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the LORD commanded Moses.

2. 2

   וַיְדַבֵּרand spokeמֹשֶׁהMosesאֶל־רָאשֵׁיto the heads ofהַמַּטּוֹתthe tribesלִבְנֵיunto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelלֵאמֹרsayingזֶהthisהַדָּבָרthe wordאֲשֶׁרwhichצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

   And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded.

3. 3

   אִישׁa manכִּי־יִדֹּרif he will vowנֶדֶרa vowלַיהֹוָהto the LORDאוֹ־הִשָּׁבַעor he will swearשְׁבֻעָהan oathלֶאְסֹרto bindאִסָּרan obligationעַל־נַפְשׁוֹupon his soulלֹאnotיַחֵלhe will violateדְּבָרוֹhis wordכְּכׇל־הַיֹּצֵאas all that goes outמִפִּיוfrom his mouthיַעֲשֶׂה׃he shall do

   If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

4. 4

   וְאִשָּׁהand a womanכִּי־תִדֹּרif she will vowנֶדֶרa vowלַיהֹוָהto the LORDוְאָסְרָהand she will bindאִסָּרan obligationבְּבֵיתin the house ofאָבִיהָher fatherבִּנְעֻרֶיהָ׃in her youth

   If a woman also vow a vow unto the LORD, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth;

   וְשָׁמַעand heardאָבִיהָher fatherאֶת־נִדְרָהּher vowוֶאֱסָרָהּand her obligationאֲשֶׁרwhichאָסְרָהshe has boundעַל־נַפְשָׁהּupon herselfוְהֶחֱרִישׁand he will keep silentלָהּto herאָבִיהָher fatherוְקָמוּand they shall standכׇּל־נְדָרֶיהָall her vowsוְכׇל־אִסָּרand all an obligationאֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָהwhich she has boundעַל־נַפְשָׁהּupon herselfיָקוּם׃it shall stand

   And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.

6. 6

   וְאִם־הֵנִיאand if he forbadeאָבִיהָher fatherאֹתָהּherבְּיוֹםin the day ofשׇׁמְעוֹhis fameכׇּל־נְדָרֶיהָall her vowsוֶאֱסָרֶיהָand her obligationsאֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָהwhich she has boundעַל־נַפְשָׁהּupon herselfלֹאnotיָקוּםit shall standוַיהֹוָהand the LORDיִסְלַח־לָהּHe shall-forgive-herכִּי־הֵנִיאbecause he forbadeאָבִיהָher fatherאֹתָהּ׃her

   But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.

7. 7

   וְאִם־הָיוֹand if at allתִהְיֶהbeלְאִישׁfor a manוּנְדָרֶיהָand her vowsעָלֶיהָupon herאוֹorמִבְטָאthe rash utterance ofשְׂפָתֶיהָher lipsאֲשֶׁרwhichאָסְרָהshe has boundעַל־נַפְשָׁהּ׃upon herself

   And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;

   וְשָׁמַעand heardאִישָׁהּher husbandבְּיוֹםin the day ofשׇׁמְעוֹhis fameוְהֶחֱרִישׁand he will keep silentלָהּto herוְקָמוּand they shall standנְדָרֶיהָher vowsוֶאֱסָרֶהָand her obligationsאֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָהwhich she has boundעַל־נַפְשָׁהּupon herselfיָקֻמוּ׃they shall stand

   And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.

9. 9

   וְאִםand ifבְּיוֹםin the day ofשְׁמֹעַhearsאִישָׁהּher husbandיָנִיאhe will forbidאוֹתָהּherוְהֵפֵרand he will breakאֶת־נִדְרָהּher vowאֲשֶׁרwhichעָלֶיהָupon herוְאֵתandמִבְטָאthe rash utterance ofשְׂפָתֶיהָher lipsאֲשֶׁרwhichאָסְרָהshe has boundעַל־נַפְשָׁהּupon herselfוַיהֹוָהand the LORDיִסְלַח־לָהּ׃He shall-forgive-her

   But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her.

10. 10

    וְנֵדֶרand the vow ofאַלְמָנָהa widowוּגְרוּשָׁהand a divorced womanכֹּלallאֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָהwhich she has boundעַל־נַפְשָׁהּupon herselfיָקוּםit shall standעָלֶיהָ׃upon her

    But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.

11. 11

    וְאִם־בֵּיתand if house ofאִישָׁהּher husbandנָדָרָהshe has vowedאוֹ־אָסְרָהor she has boundאִסָּרan obligationעַל־נַפְשָׁהּupon herselfבִּשְׁבֻעָה׃in an oath

    And if she vowed in her husband's house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath;

12. 12

    וְשָׁמַעand heardאִישָׁהּher husbandוְהֶחֱרִשׁand he kept silentלָהּto herלֹאnotהֵנִיאhe forbadeאֹתָהּherוְקָמוּand they shall standכׇּל־נְדָרֶיהָall her vowsוְכׇל־אִסָּרand all an obligationאֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָהwhich she has boundעַל־נַפְשָׁהּupon herselfיָקוּם׃it shall stand

    And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.

13. 13

    וְאִם־הָפֵרand if at allיָפֵרshall annul itאֹתָםthemאִישָׁהּher husbandבְּיוֹםin the day ofשׇׁמְעוֹhis fameכׇּל־מוֹצָאall the source ofשְׂפָתֶיהָher lipsלִנְדָרֶיהָto her vowsוּלְאִסַּרand to the obligation ofנַפְשָׁהּherselfלֹאnotיָקוּםit shall standאִישָׁהּher husbandהֲפֵרָםhe has broken themוַיהֹוָהand the LORDיִסְלַח־לָהּ׃He shall-forgive-her

    But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her.

14. 14

    כׇּל־נֵדֶרall vowוְכׇל־שְׁבֻעַתand all the oath ofאִסָּרan obligationלְעַנֹּתto afflictנָפֶשׁthe soulאִישָׁהּher husbandיְקִימֶנּוּhe shall establish itוְאִישָׁהּand her husbandיְפֵרֶנּוּ׃he will break it

    Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.

15. 15

    וְאִם־הַחֲרֵשׁand if at allיַחֲרִישׁhe will keep silentלָהּto herאִישָׁהּher husbandמִיּוֹםfrom the dayאֶל־יוֹםto dayוְהֵקִיםand raisedאֶת־כׇּל־נְדָרֶיהָall her vowsאוֹorאֶת־כׇּל־אֱסָרֶיהָall her obligationsאֲשֶׁרwhichעָלֶיהָupon herהֵקִיםhad establishedאֹתָםthemכִּי־הֶחֱרִשׁbecause he kept silentלָהּto herבְּיוֹםin the day ofשׇׁמְעוֹ׃his fame

    But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.

16. 16

    וְאִם־הָפֵרand if at allיָפֵרshall annul itאֹתָםthemאַחֲרֵיafterשׇׁמְעוֹhis fameוְנָשָׂאand shall bearאֶת־עֲוֺנָהּ׃her iniquity

    But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity.

17. 17

    אֵלֶּהtheseהַחֻקִּיםthe statutesאֲשֶׁרwhichצִוָּהcommandedיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־מֹשֶׁהMosesבֵּיןbetweenאִישׁa manלְאִשְׁתּוֹof his wifeבֵּין־אָבbetween a fatherלְבִתּוֹto his daughterבִּנְעֻרֶיהָin her youthבֵּיתthe house ofאָבִיהָ׃her father

    These are the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father's house.
