Numbers 12 בְּמִדְבַּר פרק י״ב

   וַתְּדַבֵּרand she spokeמִרְיָםMiriamוְאַהֲרֹןand Aaronבְּמֹשֶׁהagainst Mosesעַל־אֹדוֹתbecause ofהָאִשָּׁהthe womanהַכֻּשִׁיתthe Ethiopianאֲשֶׁרwhichלָקָחhe tookכִּי־אִשָּׁהbecause a womanכֻשִׁיתEthiopianלָקָח׃he took

   And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

   וַיֹּאמְרוּand they saidהֲרַקis it onlyאַךְ־בְּמֹשֶׁהbut by Mosesדִּבֶּרspokeיְהֹוָהthe LORDהֲלֹאis it notגַּם־בָּנוּalso by usדִבֵּרhas spokenוַיִּשְׁמַעand heardיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

   And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.

   וְהָאִישׁand the manמֹשֶׁהMosesעָנָוhumbleמְאֹדexceedinglyמִכֹּלof allהָאָדָםthe manאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־פְּנֵיupon the face ofהָאֲדָמָה׃the earth

   (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

   וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDפִּתְאֹםsuddenlyאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesוְאֶל־אַהֲרֹןand Aaronוְאֶל־מִרְיָםand Miriamצְאוּgo forthשְׁלׇשְׁתְּכֶםyou threeאֶל־אֹהֶלto the tent ofמוֹעֵדthe congregationוַיֵּצְאוּand they departedשְׁלׇשְׁתָּם׃the three of them

   And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

   וַיֵּרֶדand descendedיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּעַמּוּדby a pillar ofעָנָןa cloudוַיַּעֲמֹדand stoodפֶּתַחthe door ofהָאֹהֶלthe tentוַיִּקְרָאand calledאַהֲרֹןAaronוּמִרְיָםand Miriamוַיֵּצְאוּand they departedשְׁנֵיהֶם׃the two

   And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.

   וַיֹּאמֶרand saidשִׁמְעוּ־נָאhear you nowדְבָרָיMy wordsאִם־יִהְיֶהthough beנְבִיאֲכֶםyour prophetיְהֹוָהthe LORDבַּמַּרְאָהby the visionאֵלָיוto himאֶתְוַדָּעI make myself knownבַּחֲלוֹםin a dreamאֲדַבֶּר־בּוֹ׃I speak with him

   And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

   לֹא־כֵןnot soעַבְדִּיmy servantמֹשֶׁהMosesבְּכׇל־בֵּיתִיin all my houseנֶאֱמָןfaithfulהוּא׃he

   My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

8. 8

   פֶּהmouthאֶל־פֶּהto mouthאֲדַבֶּר־בּוֹI speak with himוּמַרְאֶהand in plain sightוְלֹאand notבְחִידֹתby riddlesוּתְמֻנַתand the form ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDיַבִּיטhe beholdsוּמַדּוּעַand whyלֹאnotיְרֵאתֶםwere you afraidלְדַבֵּרto speakבְּעַבְדִּיagainst my servantבְמֹשֶׁה׃against Moses

   With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

9. 9

   וַיִּחַר־אַףand was kindled the anger ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDבָּםin themוַיֵּלַךְ׃and he departed

   And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.

10. 10

    וְהֶעָנָןand the cloudסָרdepartedמֵעַלfrom uponהָאֹהֶלthe tentוְהִנֵּהand beholdמִרְיָםMiriamמְצֹרַעַתwas leprousכַּשָּׁלֶגlike the snowוַיִּפֶןand turnedאַהֲרֹןAaronאֶל־מִרְיָםto Miriamוְהִנֵּהand beholdמְצֹרָעַת׃leprous

    And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

11. 11

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאַהֲרֹןAaronאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto MosesבִּיI beseech youאֲדֹנִיmy Lordאַל־נָאdo not I prayתָשֵׁתmay putעָלֵינוּover usחַטָּאתsinאֲשֶׁרwhichנוֹאַלְנוּwe have acted foolishlyוַאֲשֶׁרand in whichחָטָאנוּ׃we have sinned

    And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.

12. 12

    אַל־נָאdo not I prayתְהִיthere beכַּמֵּתlike the dead personאֲשֶׁרwhichבְּצֵאתוֹwhen he comes forthמֵרֶחֶםfrom the womb ofאִמּוֹhis motherוַיֵּאָכֵלand it was eatenחֲצִיhalfבְשָׂרוֹ׃his flesh

    Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.

    וַיִּצְעַקand criedמֹשֶׁהMosesאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDלֵאמֹרsayingאֵלGodנָאI prayרְפָאhealנָאI prayלָהּ׃her

    And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.

14. 14

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהto Mosesוְאָבִיהָand her fatherיָרֹקsurelyיָרַקhe had spatבְּפָנֶיהָin her faceהֲלֹאis it notתִכָּלֵםwill she be put to shameשִׁבְעַתsevenיָמִיםdaysתִּסָּגֵרshe will be shut upשִׁבְעַתsevenיָמִיםdaysמִחוּץwithoutלַמַּחֲנֶהthe campוְאַחַרand thenתֵּאָסֵף׃she shall be gathered in

    And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.

15. 15

    וַתִּסָּגֵרand she was shut upמִרְיָםMiriamמִחוּץwithoutלַמַּחֲנֶהthe campשִׁבְעַתsevenיָמִיםdaysוְהָעָםand the peopleלֹאnotנָסַעjourneyedעַד־הֵאָסֵףuntil was gathered inמִרְיָם׃Miriam

    And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

16. 16

    וְאַחַרand thenנָסְעוּthey journeyedהָעָםthe peopleמֵחֲצֵרוֹתfrom Hazerothוַיַּחֲנוּthey encampedבְּמִדְבַּרin the wilderness ofפָּארָן׃Paran

    And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.
