   שִׁמְעוּ־נָאshim/U-nahear I prayאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־יְהֹוָהet-a/SHER-Adonaithat which the LORDאֹמֵרo/MERsaysקוּםkumariseרִיבrivcontendאֶת־הֶהָרִיםet-he/ha/RIMbefore the mountainsוְתִשְׁמַעְנָהve/tish/MA/naand let hearהַגְּבָעוֹתhag/ge/va/OTthe hillsקוֹלֶךָ׃ko/LE/khayour voice

   Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.

   שִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearהָרִיםha/RIMO mountainsאֶת־רִיבet-rivthe controversy ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְהָאֵתָנִיםve/ha/e/ta/NIMand you strongמוֹסְדֵיMOS/dethe foundations ofאָרֶץA/retsthe earthכִּיkiforרִיבriva controversyלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaithe LORD hasעִם־עַמּוֹim-am/MOwith His peopleוְעִם־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/IM-yis/ra/ELand with Israelיִתְוַכָּח׃yit/vak/KACHHe will plead

   Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD's controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

   עַמִּיam/MImy peopleמֶה־עָשִׂיתִיme-a/SI/tiwhat have I doneלְךָle/KHAto youוּמָהu/MAand whatהֶלְאֵתִיךָhel/e/TI/khahave I wearied youעֲנֵהa/NEtestifyבִי׃viagainst me

   O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

   כִּיkiforהֶעֱלִתִיךָhe/e/li/TI/khaI brought you upמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptוּמִבֵּיתu/mib/BETand from the house ofעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMservantsפְּדִיתִיךָpe/di/TI/khaI redeemed youוָאֶשְׁלַחva/esh/LACHand I sentלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youאֶת־מֹשֶׁהet-Mo/SHEMosesאַהֲרֹןA/ha/RONAaronוּמִרְיָם׃u/Mir/YAMand Miriam

   For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

   עַמִּיam/MImy peopleזְכׇר־נָאze/KHOR-naremember nowמַה־יָּעַץma-ya/ATSwhat consultedבָּלָקBa/LAKBalakמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofמוֹאָבMo/AVMoabוּמֶה־עָנָהu/ME-a/NAand what answeredאֹתוֹo/TOhimבִּלְעָםBil/AMBalaamבֶּן־בְּעוֹרben-Be/ORson of Beorמִן־הַשִּׁטִּיםmin-Hash/shit/TIMfrom Shittimעַד־הַגִּלְגָּלad-Hag/gil/GALto Gilgalלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatדַּעַתDA/atyou may knowצִדְקוֹתtsid/KOTthe righteous acts ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.

   בַּמָּהbam/MAwherewithאֲקַדֵּםa/kad/DEMshall I come beforeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאִכַּףik/KAFshall I bow myselfלֵאלֹהֵיle/lo/HEbefore Godמָרוֹםma/ROMon highהַאֲקַדְּמֶנּוּha/a/kad/de/MEN/nushall I come before Himבְעוֹלוֹתve/o/LOTwith burnt offeringsבַּעֲגָלִיםba/a/ga/LIMwith calvesבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofשָׁנָה׃sha/NAa year

   Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?

   הֲיִרְצֶהha/yir/TSEwill be pleasedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּאַלְפֵיbe/al/FEwith thousands ofאֵילִיםe/LIMramsבְּרִבְבוֹתbe/riv/VOTwith ten thousands ofנַחֲלֵי־שָׁמֶןNA/cha/le-SHA/menrivers of oilהַאֶתֵּןha/et/TENshall I giveבְּכוֹרִיbe/kho/RImy firstbornפִּשְׁעִיpish/Ifor my transgressionפְּרִיpe/RIthe fruit ofבִטְנִיvit/NImy wombחַטַּאתchat/TATfor the sin ofנַפְשִׁי׃naf/SHImy soul

   Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

   הִגִּידhig/GIDHe has shownלְךָle/KHAyouאָדָםa/DAMO manמַה־טּוֹבma-tovwhat is goodוּמָה־יְהֹוָהu/MA-Adonaiand what the LORDדּוֹרֵשׁdo/RESHdoes requireמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAof youכִּיkibutאִם־עֲשׂוֹתim-a/SOTonly to doמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjudgmentוְאַהֲבַתve/a/ha/VATand to loveחֶסֶדCHE/sedmercyוְהַצְנֵעַve/hats/NE/aand humblyלֶכֶתLE/khetto walkעִם־אֱלֹהֶיךָ׃im-e/lo/HE/khawith your God

   He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

   קוֹלkolthe voice ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָעִירla/IRto the cityיִקְרָאyik/RAcriesוְתוּשִׁיָּהve/tu/shiy/YAand wisdomיִרְאֶהyir/Eseesשְׁמֶךָshe/ME/khaYour nameשִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearמַטֶּהmat/TEthe rodוּמִיu/MIand whoיְעָדָהּ׃ye/a/DAhas appointed it

   The LORD's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

    עוֹדodyetהַאִשׁha/ISHare thereבֵּיתbetin the house ofרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedאֹצְרוֹתots/ROTthe treasures ofרֶשַׁעRE/shawickednessוְאֵיפַתve/e/FATand the ephah ofרָזוֹןra/ZONscantnessזְעוּמָה׃ze/u/MAthat is abominable

    Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?

11. 11

    הַאֶזְכֶּהha/ez/KEshall I count pureבְּמֹאזְנֵיbe/MO/ze/newith balances ofרֶשַׁעRE/shawickednessוּבְכִיסu/ve/KHISand with a bag ofאַבְנֵיav/NEstones ofמִרְמָה׃mir/MAdeceit

    Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?

12. 12

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERforעֲשִׁירֶיהָa/shi/RE/haher rich menמָלְאוּma/le/Uare full ofחָמָסcha/MASviolenceוְיֹשְׁבֶיהָve/yosh/VE/haand her inhabitantsדִּבְּרוּ־שָׁקֶרdib/be/RU-SHA/kerhave spoken liesוּלְשׁוֹנָםu/le/sho/NAMand their tongueרְמִיָּהre/miy/YAdeceitבְּפִיהֶם׃be/fi/HEMin their mouth

    For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

    וְגַם־אֲנִיve/GAM-a/NItherefore also Iהֶחֱלֵיתִיhe/che/LE/tiI have made sickהַכּוֹתֶךָhak/ko/TE/khasmiting youהַשְׁמֵםhash/MEMmaking you desolateעַל־חַטֹּאתֶךָ׃al-chat/to/TE/khabecause of your sins

    Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins.

14. 14

    אַתָּהat/TAyouתֹאכַלto/KHALyou shall eatוְלֹאve/LOand notתִשְׂבָּעtis/BAbe satisfiedוְיֶשְׁחֲךָve/yesh/cha/KHAand your emptinessבְּקִרְבֶּךָbe/kir/BE/khain your midstוְתַסֵּגve/tas/SEGand you shall removeוְלֹאve/LOand notתַפְלִיטtaf/LITdeliverוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whatתְּפַלֵּטte/fal/LETyou deliverלַחֶרֶבla/CHE/revto the swordאֶתֵּן׃et/TENI will give up

    Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.

15. 15

    אַתָּהat/TAyouתִזְרַעtiz/RAyou will sowוְלֹאve/LOand notתִקְצוֹרtik/TSORreapאַתָּהat/TAyouתִדְרֹךְ־זַיִתtid/ROKH-ZA/yityou shall tread the olivesוְלֹא־תָסוּךְve/LO-ta/SUKHbut not anoint yourselfשֶׁמֶןSHE/menwith oilוְתִירוֹשׁve/ti/ROSHand new wineוְלֹאve/LOand notתִשְׁתֶּה־יָּיִן׃tish/TE-YA/yindrink wine

    Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.

    וְיִשְׁתַּמֵּרve/yish/tam/MERfor are keptחֻקּוֹתchuk/KOTthe statutes ofעׇמְרִיOm/RIOmriוְכֹלve/KHOLand allמַעֲשֵׂהma/a/SEthe works ofבֵית־אַחְאָבvet-Ach/AVthe house of Ahabוַתֵּלְכוּvat/tel/KHUand you walkבְּמֹעֲצוֹתָםbe/mo/a/tso/TAMin their counselsלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּתִּיtit/TII should makeאֹתְךָot/KHAyouלְשַׁמָּהle/sham/MAa desolationוְיֹשְׁבֶיהָve/yosh/VE/haand her inhabitantsלִשְׁרֵקָהlish/re/KAa hissingוְחֶרְפַּתve/cher/PATand the reproach ofעַמִּיam/MImy peopleתִּשָּׂאוּ׃tis/SA/uyou shall bear

    For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
