   אַלְלַיal/LAYwoeלִיliis meכִּיkiforהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI amכְּאׇסְפֵּי־קַיִץke/os/PE-KA/yitsas the gatherings of summer fruitכְּעֹלְלֹתke/ol/LOTas the gleanings ofבָּצִירba/TSIRthe vintageאֵין־אֶשְׁכּוֹלen-esh/KOLthere is no clusterלֶאֱכוֹלle/e/KHOLto eatבִּכּוּרָהbik/ku/RAthe first ripe figאִוְּתָהiv/ve/TAdesiresנַפְשִׁי׃naf/SHImy soul

   Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.

   אָבַדa/VADhas perishedחָסִידcha/SIDthe godly manמִן־הָאָרֶץmin-ha/A/retsfrom the earthוְיָשָׁרve/ya/SHARand the uprightבָּאָדָםba/a/DAMamong menאָיִןA/yinthere is noneכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themלְדָמִיםle/da/MIMfor bloodיֶאֱרֹבוּye/e/RO/vuthey lie in waitאִישׁishevery manאֶת־אָחִיהוּet-a/CHI/huhis brotherיָצוּדוּya/TSU/duthey huntחֵרֶם׃CHE/remwith a net

   The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.

   עַל־הָרַעal-ha/RAupon the evilכַּפַּיִםkap/PA/yimwith both handsלְהֵיטִיבle/he/TIVto do it wellהַשַּׂרhas/SARthe princeשֹׁאֵלsho/ELasksוְהַשֹּׁפֵטve/hash/sho/FETand the judgeבַּשִּׁלּוּםbash/shil/LUMfor a rewardוְהַגָּדוֹלve/hag/ga/DOLand the greatדֹּבֵרdo/VERuttersהַוַּתhav/VATthe mischievous desire ofנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis soulהוּאhuheוַיְעַבְּתוּהָ׃vay/ab/be/TU/haso they weave it together

   That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.

   טוֹבָםto/VAMthe best of themכְּחֵדֶקke/CHE/dekis as a brierיָשָׁרya/SHARthe most uprightמִמְּסוּכָהmim/me/su/KHAthan a thorn hedgeיוֹםyomthe day ofמְצַפֶּיךָme/tsap/PE/khayour watchmenפְּקֻדָּתְךָpe/kud/da/te/KHAyour visitationבָאָהva/Acomesעַתָּהat/TAnowתִהְיֶהtih/YEshall beמְבוּכָתָם׃me/vu/kha/TAMtheir confusion

   The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.

   אַל־תַּאֲמִינוּal-ta/a/MI/nutrust notבְרֵעַve/RE/ain a friendאַל־תִּבְטְחוּal-tiv/te/CHUput no confidenceבְּאַלּוּףbe/al/LUFin a guideמִשֹּׁכֶבֶתmish/sho/KHE/vetfrom her that lies inחֵיקֶךָche/KE/khayour bosomשְׁמֹרshe/MORkeepפִּתְחֵי־פִיךָ׃pit/CHE-FI/khathe doors of your mouth

   Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.

   כִּי־בֵןki-venfor the sonמְנַבֵּלme/nab/BELdishonorsאָבavthe fatherבַּתbatthe daughterקָמָהKA/marises upבְאִמָּהּve/im/MAagainst her motherכַּלָּהkal/LAthe daughter in lawבַּחֲמֹתָהּba/cha/mo/TAagainst her mother in lawאֹיְבֵיoy/VEthe enemies ofאִישׁisha manאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEthe men ofבֵיתוֹ׃ve/TOhis house

   For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.

7. 7

   וַאֲנִיva/a/NItherefore Iבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDאֲצַפֶּהa/tsap/PEI will lookאוֹחִילָהo/CHI/laI will waitלֵאלֹהֵיle/lo/HEfor the God ofיִשְׁעִיyish/Imy salvationיִשְׁמָעֵנִיyish/ma/E/niwill hear meאֱלֹהָי׃e/lo/HAYmy God

   Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

8. 8

   אַל־תִּשְׂמְחִיal-tis/me/CHIrejoice notאֹיַבְתִּיo/YAV/tiO my enemyלִיliagainst meכִּיkiwhenנָפַלְתִּיna/FAL/tiI fallקָמְתִּיKAM/tiI shall ariseכִּי־אֵשֵׁבki-e/SHEVwhen I sitבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin darknessיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאוֹרorshall be a lightלִי׃lito me

   Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

9. 9

   זַעַףZA/afthe indignation ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶשָּׂאes/SAI will bearכִּיkiforחָטָאתִיcha/TA/tiI have sinnedלוֹloagainst Himעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָרִיבya/RIVHe pleadרִיבִיri/VImy causeוְעָשָׂהve/a/SAand executeמִשְׁפָּטִיmish/pa/TImy judgmentיוֹצִיאֵנִיyo/tsi/E/niHe will bring me forthלָאוֹרla/ORto lightאֶרְאֶהer/EI shall seeבְּצִדְקָתוֹ׃be/tsid/ka/TOHis righteousness

   I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

10. 10

    וְתֵרֶאve/te/REthen shall see itאֹיַבְתִּיo/YAV/timy enemyוּתְכַסֶּהָu/te/khas/SE/haand shall cover herבוּשָׁהvu/SHAshameהָאֹמְרָהha/om/RAwho saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meאַיּוֹay/YOwhere isיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהָיִךְe/lo/HA/yikhyour Godעֵינַיe/NAYmy eyesתִּרְאֶינָּהtir/EN/nashall beholdבָּהּbaherעַתָּהat/TAnowתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beלְמִרְמָסle/mir/MAStrodden downכְּטִיטke/TITas the mire ofחוּצוֹת׃chu/TSOTthe streets

    Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

11. 11

    יוֹםyoma dayלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTfor buildingגְּדֵרָיִךְge/de/RA/yikhyour wallsיוֹםyomdayהַהוּאha/HUthatיִרְחַק־חֹק׃yir/CHAK-chokshall the decree be far removed

    In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be far removed.

12. 12

    יוֹםyomdayהוּאhuthatוְעָדֶיךָve/a/DE/khaand unto youיָבוֹאya/VOshall comeלְמִנִּיle/min/NIfromאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaוְעָרֵיve/a/REand the cities ofמָצוֹרma/TSORfortressוּלְמִנִּיu/le/min/NIand fromמָצוֹרma/TSORfortressוְעַד־נָהָרve/AD-na/HAReven to the riverוְיָםve/YAMand the seaמִיָּםmiy/YAMfrom seaוְהַרve/HARand mountainהָהָר׃ha/HARto mountain

    In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.

13. 13

    וְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand shall beהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landלִשְׁמָמָהlish/ma/MAdesolateעַל־יֹשְׁבֶיהָal-yosh/VE/habecause of its inhabitantsמִפְּרִיmip/pe/RIfor the fruit ofמַעַלְלֵיהֶם׃ma/al/le/HEMtheir doings

    Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.

14. 14

    רְעֵהre/Efeedעַמְּךָam/me/KHAYour peopleבְשִׁבְטֶךָve/shiv/TE/khawith Your rodצֹאןtsonthe flock ofנַחֲלָתֶךָna/cha/la/TE/khaYour heritageשֹׁכְנִיshokh/NIwhich dwellלְבָדָדle/va/DADsolitarilyיַעַרYA/arin the woodבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofכַּרְמֶלKar/MELCarmelיִרְעוּyir/Ulet them feedבָשָׁןVa/SHANBashanוְגִלְעָדve/Gil/ADand Gileadכִּימֵיki/MEas in the days ofעוֹלָם׃o/LAMold

    Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

15. 15

    כִּימֵיki/MEaccording to the days ofצֵאתְךָtse/te/KHAyour coming outמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptאַרְאֶנּוּar/EN/nuI will show himנִפְלָאוֹת׃nif/la/OTmarvelous things

    According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.

16. 16

    יִרְאוּyir/Ushall seeגוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsוְיֵבֹשׁוּve/ye/VO/shuand be confoundedמִכֹּלmik/KOLat allגְּבוּרָתָםge/vu/ra/TAMtheir strengthיָשִׂימוּya/SI/muthey shall layיָדyadhandעַל־פֶּהal-peupon their mouthאׇזְנֵיהֶםoz/ne/HEMtheir earsתֶּחֱרַשְׁנָה׃te/che/RASH/nashall be deaf

    The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.

17. 17

    יְלַחֲכוּye/la/cha/KHUshall lickעָפָרa/FARthe dustכַּנָּחָשׁkan/na/CHASHlike a serpentכְּזֹחֲלֵיke/zo/cha/LElike worms ofאֶרֶץE/retsthe earthיִרְגְּזוּyir/ge/ZUthey shall moveמִמִּסְגְּרֹתֵיהֶםmim/mis/ge/ro/te/HEMout of their holesאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godיִפְחָדוּyif/CHA/duthey shall be afraidוְיִרְאוּve/yir/Uand shall fearמִמֶּךָּ׃mim/MEK/kabecause of You

    They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.

18. 18

    מִי־אֵלmi-elwho is a Godכָּמוֹךָka/MO/khalike Youנֹשֵׂאno/SEthat pardonsעָוֺןa/VONiniquityוְעֹבֵרve/o/VERand passes byעַל־פֶּשַׁעal-PE/shathe transgression ofלִשְׁאֵרִיתlish/e/RITof the remnant ofנַחֲלָתוֹna/cha/la/TOHis heritageלֹא־הֶחֱזִיקlo-he/che/ZIKHe retains notלָעַדla/ADforeverאַפּוֹap/POHis angerכִּי־חָפֵץki-cha/FETSbecause delights inחֶסֶדCHE/sedmercyהוּא׃huHe

    Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

19. 19

    יָשׁוּבya/SHUVHe will turn againיְרַחֲמֵנוּye/ra/cha/ME/nuHe will have compassion on usיִכְבֹּשׁyikh/BOSHHe will subdueעֲוֺנֹתֵינוּa/vo/no/TE/nuour iniquitiesוְתַשְׁלִיךְve/tash/LIKHand You will castבִּמְצֻלוֹתbim/tsu/LOTinto the depths ofיָםyamthe seaכׇּל־חַטֹּאותָם׃kol-chat/to/TAMall their sins

    He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

20. 20

    תִּתֵּןtit/TENYou will performאֱמֶתe/METtruthלְיַעֲקֹבle/Ya/a/KOVto JacobחֶסֶדCHE/sedmercyלְאַבְרָהָםle/Av/ra/HAMto Abrahamאֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעְתָּa/SHER-nish/BA/tawhich You have swornלַאֲבֹתֵינוּla/a/vo/TE/nuto our fathersמִימֵיMI/mefrom the days ofקֶדֶם׃KE/demold

    Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
