Micah 4 מִיכָה פרק ד׳

1. 1

   וְהָיָהand beבְּאַחֲרִיתin latterהַיָּמִיםthe daysיִהְיֶהshall beהַרmountainבֵּית־יְהֹוָהthe house of the LORDנָכוֹןestablishedבְּרֹאשׁin the top ofהֶהָרִיםthe mountainsוְנִשָּׂאand exaltedהוּאheמִגְּבָעוֹתabove the hillsוְנָהֲרוּand shall flowעָלָיוupon himעַמִּים׃peoples

   But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

2. 2

   וְהָלְכוּand they shall departגּוֹיִםnationsרַבִּיםmanyוְאָמְרוּshall sayלְכוּgoוְנַעֲלֶהand let us go upאֶל־הַר־יְהֹוָהto mountain the LORDוְאֶל־בֵּיתand house ofאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיַעֲקֹבJacobוְיוֹרֵנוּand He will teach usמִדְּרָכָיוof His waysוְנֵלְכָהand we will walkבְּאֹרְחֹתָיוin His pathsכִּיforמִצִּיּוֹןout of Zionתֵּצֵאshall go forthתוֹרָהLawוּדְבַר־יְהֹוָהand the word of the LORDמִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃from Jerusalem

   And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

3. 3

   וְשָׁפַטand he shall judgeבֵּיןamongעַמִּיםpeoplesרַבִּיםmanyוְהוֹכִיחַand shall rebukeלְגוֹיִםfor nationsעֲצֻמִיםmightyעַד־רָחוֹקuntil farוְכִתְּתוּand they shall beatחַרְבֹתֵיהֶםtheir swordsלְאִתִּיםinto plowsharesוַחֲנִיתֹתֵיהֶםand their spearsלְמַזְמֵרוֹתinto pruning hooksלֹא־יִשְׂאוּnot shall lift upגּוֹיnationאֶל־גּוֹיagainst nationחֶרֶבthe sword ofוְלֹא־יִלְמְדוּןand not they will learnעוֹדany moreמִלְחָמָה׃war

   And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

4. 4

   וְיָשְׁבוּand they were settledאִישׁa manתַּחַתunderגַּפְנוֹhis own vineוְתַחַתand underתְּאֵנָתוֹhis own fig treeוְאֵיןand there is noמַחֲרִידone who terrifiesכִּי־פִיbecause the mouth ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsדִּבֵּר׃spoke

   But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.

5. 5

   כִּיbecauseכׇּל־הָעַמִּיםall the peopleיֵלְכוּthey should travelאִישׁa manבְּשֵׁםin the name ofאֱלֹהָיוhis Godוַאֲנַחְנוּand we areנֵלֵךְwe should goבְּשֵׁם־יְהֹוָהin the name of the LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּour Godלְעוֹלָםforeverוָעֶד׃and ever

   For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.

6. 6

   בַּיּוֹםin the dayהַהוּאthatנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהsays the LORDאֹסְפָהI will gatherהַצֹּלֵעָהthe one who is lameוְהַנִּדָּחָהand the one who is outcastאֲקַבֵּצָהI will assembleוַאֲשֶׁרand whichהֲרֵעֹתִי׃I have done harm to

   In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted;

7. 7

   וְשַׂמְתִּיand I makeאֶת־הַצֹּלֵעָהthe one who is lameלִשְׁאֵרִיתfor remnant ofוְהַנַּהֲלָאָהand her that was cast far offלְגוֹיunto one nationעָצוּםmightyוּמָלַךְand shall reignיְהֹוָהthe LORDעֲלֵיהֶםupon themבְּהַרon the mount ofצִיּוֹןZionמֵעַתָּהfrom this timeוְעַד־עוֹלָם׃and forever

   And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.

8. 8

   וְאַתָּהand youמִגְדַּל־עֵדֶרO tower of the flockעֹפֶלthe strong hold ofבַּת־צִיּוֹןthe daughter of Zionעָדֶיךָto youתֵּאתֶהit will comeוּבָאָהand comesהַמֶּמְשָׁלָהthe governmentהָרִאשֹׁנָהthe firstמַמְלֶכֶתthe kingdom ofלְבַתto the daughter ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Jerusalem

   And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.

9. 9

   עַתָּהnowלָמָּהwhyתָרִיעִיdo you shoutרֵעַaloudהֲמֶלֶךְis it a kingאֵין־בָּךְis there none in youאִם־יוֹעֲצֵךְif your counselorאָבָדdid he perishכִּי־הֶחֱזִיקֵךְbecause it has taken hold of youחִילanguishכַּיּוֹלֵדָה׃as the woman in travail

   Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.

10. 10

    חוּלִיtrembleוָגֹחִיand burst forthבַּת־צִיּוֹןthe daughter of Zionכַּיּוֹלֵדָהas the woman in travailכִּי־עַתָּהbecause nowתֵצְאִיyou will go outמִקִּרְיָהfrom the townוְשָׁכַנְתְּand you will dwellבַּשָּׂדֶהin the fieldוּבָאתand you will goעַד־בָּבֶלuntil Babylonשָׁםthereתִּנָּצֵלִיyou will be deliveredשָׁםthereיִגְאָלֵךְwill redeem youיְהֹוָהthe LORDמִכַּףout of the hand ofאֹיְבָיִךְ׃your enemies

    Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

11. 11

    וְעַתָּהand nowנֶאֶסְפוּgatheredעָלַיִךְupon youגּוֹיִםnationsרַבִּיםmanyהָאֹמְרִיםthe ones sayingתֶּחֱנָףlet her be defiledוְתַחַזand let it lookבְּצִיּוֹןin Zionעֵינֵינוּ׃our eyes

    Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.

12. 12

    וְהֵמָּהand theyלֹאnotיָדְעוּthey knewמַחְשְׁבוֹתpurposes ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDוְלֹאand notהֵבִינוּunderstandעֲצָתוֹHis counselכִּיforקִבְּצָםhe has gathered themכֶּעָמִירlike cut grainגֹּרְנָה׃to the threshing floor

    But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.

13. 13

    קוּמִיstand upוָדוֹשִׁיand threshבַת־צִיּוֹןthe daughter of Zionכִּי־קַרְנֵךְbecause your hornאָשִׂיםshall I putבַּרְזֶלironוּפַרְסֹתַיִךְand your hoovesאָשִׂיםshall I putנְחוּשָׁהbrassוַהֲדִקּוֹתand you will crushעַמִּיםpeoplesרַבִּיםmanyוְהַחֲרַמְתִּיand I shall devoteלַיהֹוָהto the LORDבִּצְעָםtheir gainוְחֵילָםand their forcesלַאֲדוֹןto the master ofכׇּל־הָאָרֶץ׃all the earth

    Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.

14. 14

    עַתָּהnowתִּתְגֹּדְדִיgather thyself in troopsבַת־גְּדוּדthe daughter of troopמָצוֹרsiege worksשָׂםsetעָלֵינוּover usבַּשֵּׁבֶטwith the rodיַכּוּshall they smiteעַל־הַלְּחִיupon the cheekאֵת־שֹׁפֵטjudgeיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

    Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
