Micah 1 מִיכָה פרק א׳

   The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

   שִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearעַמִּיםam/MIMO peoplesכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of youהַקְשִׁיבִיhak/SHI/vihearkenאֶרֶץE/retsO earthוּמְלֹאָהּu/me/lo/Aand all that is in itוִיהִיvi/HIand let beאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYLordיֱהֹוִהAdonaiGODבָּכֶםba/KHEMagainst youלְעֵדle/EDfor a witnessאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordמֵהֵיכַלme/he/KHALfrom the temple ofקׇדְשׁוֹ׃kod/SHOHis holiness

   Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.

3. 3

   כִּי־הִנֵּהki-hin/NEfor beholdיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDיֹצֵאyo/TSEcomes forthמִמְּקוֹמוֹmim/me/ko/MOout of His placeוְיָרַדve/ya/RADand will come downוְדָרַךְve/da/RAKHand treadעַל־[בׇּמֳתֵי]al-bo/mo/TEupon the high places of(במותי)vamavatayאָרֶץ׃A/retsthe earth

   For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.

   וְנָמַסּוּve/na/MAS/suand shall be moltenהֶהָרִיםhe/ha/RIMthe mountainsתַּחְתָּיוtach/TAYVunder Himוְהָעֲמָקִיםve/ha/a/ma/KIMand the valleysיִתְבַּקָּעוּyit/bak/KA/ushall be cleftכַּדּוֹנַגkad/do/NAGas waxמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbeforeהָאֵשׁha/ESHthe fireכְּמַיִםke/MA/yimlike watersמֻגָּרִיםmug/ga/RIMpoured outבְּמוֹרָד׃be/mo/RADdown a steep place

   And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.

   בְּפֶשַׁעbe/FE/shafor the transgression ofיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobכׇּל־זֹאתkol-zotis all thisוּבְחַטֹּאותu/ve/chat/TOTand for the sins ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמִי־פֶשַׁעmi-FE/shawhat is the transgression ofיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobהֲלוֹאha/LOis it notשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaוּמִיu/MIand what areבָּמוֹתba/MOTthe high places ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahהֲלוֹאha/LOis it notיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

   For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?

6. 6

   וְשַׂמְתִּיve/sam/TItherefore I will makeשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaלְעִיle/Ias a heap ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldלְמַטָּעֵיle/mat/TA/eas plantings ofכָרֶםKHA/rema vineyardוְהִגַּרְתִּיve/hig/gar/TIand I will pour downלַגַּיlag/GAYinto the valleyאֲבָנֶיהָa/va/NE/haher stonesוִיסֹדֶיהָvi/so/DE/haand her foundationsאֲגַלֶּה׃a/gal/LEI will uncover

   Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof.

   וְכׇל־פְּסִילֶיהָve/KHOL-pe/si/LE/haand all her graven imagesיֻכַּתּוּyuk/KAT/tushall be beaten to piecesוְכׇל־אֶתְנַנֶּיהָve/KHOL-et/nan/NE/haand all her hiresיִשָּׂרְפוּyis/sa/re/FUshall be burnedבָאֵשׁva/ESHwith fireוְכׇל־עֲצַבֶּיהָve/KHOL-a/tsab/BE/haand all her idolsאָשִׂיםa/SIMI will makeשְׁמָמָהshe/ma/MAa desolationכִּיkiforמֵאֶתְנַןme/et/NANfrom the hire ofזוֹנָהzo/NAa harlotקִבָּצָהkib/BA/tsashe gathered itוְעַד־אֶתְנַןve/AD-et/NANand to the hire ofזוֹנָהzo/NAa harlotיָשׁוּבוּ׃ya/SHU/vuthey shall return

   And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.

   עַל־זֹאתal-zotfor thisאֶסְפְּדָהes/pe/DAI will wailוְאֵילִילָהve/e/LI/laand howlאֵילְכָהe/le/KHAI will go(שילל)shayalal[שׁוֹלָל]sho/LALstrippedוְעָרוֹםve/a/ROMand nakedאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEI will makeמִסְפֵּדmis/PEDa wailingכַּתַּנִּיםkat/tan/NIMlike the jackalsוְאֵבֶלve/E/veland a mourningכִּבְנוֹתkiv/NOTlike the daughters ofיַעֲנָה׃ya/a/NAthe ostrich

   Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owls.

   כִּיkiforאֲנוּשָׁהa/nu/SHAincurableמַכּוֹתֶיהָmak/ko/TE/haher woundsכִּי־בָאָהki-VA/afor it has comeעַד־יְהוּדָהad-Ye/hu/DAto Judahנָגַעna/GAit has reachedעַד־שַׁעַרad-SHA/arto the gate ofעַמִּיam/MImy peopleעַד־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃ad-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

   For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.

    בְּגַתbe/GATin Gathאַל־תַּגִּידוּal-tag/GI/dudeclare it notבָּכוֹba/KHOweepאַל־תִּבְכּוּal-tiv/KUdo not weepבְּבֵיתbe/VETin Beth-לְעַפְרָהle/Af/RAle-Aphrahעָפָרa/FARin dust[הִתְפַּלָּשִׁי]׃hit/pal/LA/shiroll yourself

    Declare ye it not at Gath, weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah roll thyself in the dust.

    עִבְרִיiv/RIpass awayלָכֶםla/KHEMyouיוֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetO inhabitant ofשָׁפִירSha/FIRShaphirעֶרְיָה־בֹשֶׁתer/YA-VO/shetin nakedness and shameלֹאlonotיָצְאָהya/tse/Acame forthיוֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetO inhabitant ofצַאֲנָןTsa/a/NANZaananמִסְפַּדmis/PADthe wailing ofבֵּיתBetBeth-הָאֵצֶלha/E/tselezelיִקַּחyik/KACHshall takeמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youעֶמְדָּתוֹ׃em/da/TOits standing

    Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the mourning of Beth-ezel; he shall receive of you his standing.

    כִּי־חָלָהki-CHA/lafor has waitedלְטוֹבle/TOVfor goodיוֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetO inhabitant ofמָרוֹתMa/ROTMarothכִּי־יָרַדki-YA/radfor has come downרָעraevilמֵאֵתme/ETfromיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְשַׁעַרle/SHA/arto the gate ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    For the inhabitant of Maroth waited carefully for good: but evil came down from the LORD unto the gate of Jerusalem.

    רְתֹםre/TOMharnessהַמֶּרְכָּבָהham/mer/ka/VAthe chariotלָרֶכֶשׁla/RE/kheshto the swift steedיוֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetO inhabitant ofלָכִישׁLa/KHISHLachishרֵאשִׁיתre/SHITthe beginning ofחַטָּאתchat/TATsinהִיאhishe isלְבַת־צִיּוֹןle/VAT-tsiy/YONto the daughter of Zionכִּי־בָךְki-vakhfor in youנִמְצְאוּnim/tse/Uwere foundפִּשְׁעֵיpish/Ethe transgressions ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.

14. 14

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeתִּתְּנִיtit/te/NIshall you giveשִׁלּוּחִיםshil/lu/CHIMparting giftsעַלaltoמוֹרֶשֶׁתMo/RE/shetMoresheth-גַּתGatGathבָּתֵּיbat/TEthe houses ofאַכְזִיבAkh/ZIVAchzibלְאַכְזָבle/akh/ZAVshall be a lieלְמַלְכֵיle/mal/KHEto the kings ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moresheth-gath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.

15. 15

    עֹדodyetהַיֹּרֵשׁhay/yo/RESHthe possessorאָבִיa/VII will bringלָךְlakhto youיוֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetO inhabitant ofמָרֵשָׁהMa/re/SHAMareshahעַד־עֲדֻלָּםad-A/dul/LAMto Adullamיָבוֹאya/VOshall comeכְּבוֹדke/VODthe glory ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.

    קׇרְחִיkor/CHImake yourself baldוָגֹזִּיva/GOZ/ziand cut off your hairעַל־בְּנֵיal-be/NEfor the children ofתַּעֲנוּגָיִךְta/a/nu/GA/yikhyour delightsהַרְחִבִיhar/CHI/vienlargeקׇרְחָתֵךְkor/cha/TEKHyour baldnessכַּנֶּשֶׁרkan/NE/sherlike the eagleכִּיkiforגָלוּga/LUthey are gone into captivityמִמֵּךְ׃mim/MEKHfrom you

    Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee.
