   אָהַבְתִּיa/HAV/tiI have lovedאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַאֲמַרְתֶּםva/a/mar/TEMand you sayבַּמָּהbam/MAwhereinאֲהַבְתָּנוּa/hav/TA/nuhave You loved usהֲלוֹא־אָחha/LO-achwas not a brotherעֵשָׂוE/SAVEsauלְיַעֲקֹבle/Ya/a/KOVto Jacobנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDוָאֹהַבva/o/HAVand I lovedאֶת־יַעֲקֹב׃et-Ya/a/KOVJacob

   I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,

   וְאֶת־עֵשָׂוve/ET-e/SAVand Esauשָׂנֵאתִיsa/NE/tiI hatedוָאָשִׂיםva/a/SIMand I setאֶת־הָרָיוet-ha/RAYVhis mountainsשְׁמָמָהshe/ma/MAa desolationוְאֶת־נַחֲלָתוֹve/ET-na/cha/la/TOand his inheritanceלְתַנּוֹתle/tan/NOTfor the jackals ofמִדְבָּר׃mid/BARthe wilderness

   And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

   כִּי־תֹאמַרki-to/MARthough saysאֱדוֹםE/DOMEdomרֻשַּׁשְׁנוּrush/SHASH/nuwe are impoverishedוְנָשׁוּבve/na/SHUVbut we will returnוְנִבְנֶהve/niv/NEand buildחֳרָבוֹתcho/ra/VOTthe desolate placesכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof HostsהֵמָּהHEM/matheyיִבְנוּyiv/NUshall buildוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֶהֱרוֹסe/he/ROSwill throw downוְקָרְאוּve/ka/re/Uand they shall callלָהֶםla/HEMthemגְּבוּלge/VULthe border ofרִשְׁעָהrish/Awickednessוְהָעָםve/ha/AMand the peopleאֲשֶׁר־זָעַםa/SHER-za/AMagainst whom has indignationיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעַד־עוֹלָם׃ad-o/LAMforever

   Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.

   וְעֵינֵיכֶםve/e/ne/KHEMand your eyesתִּרְאֶינָהtir/E/nashall seeוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youתֹּאמְרוּto/me/RUshall sayיִגְדַּלyig/DALshall be magnifiedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמֵעַלme/ALbeyondלִגְבוּלlig/VULthe border ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.

   A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

   מַגִּישִׁיםmag/gi/SHIMyou offerעַל־מִזְבְּחִיal-miz/be/CHIupon my altarלֶחֶםLE/chembreadמְגֹאָלme/go/ALpollutedוַאֲמַרְתֶּםva/a/mar/TEMand you sayבַּמֶּהbam/MEwhereinגֵאַלְנוּךָge/al/NU/khahave we polluted Youבֶּאֱמׇרְכֶםbe/e/mor/KHEMin your sayingשֻׁלְחַןshul/CHANthe table ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDנִבְזֶהniv/ZEis contemptibleהוּא׃huit

   Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.

   וְכִי־תַגִּישׁוּןve/KHI-tag/gi/SHUNand when you offerעִוֵּרiv/VERthe blindלִזְבֹּחַliz/BO/achfor sacrificeאֵיןenthere is noרָעraevilוְכִיve/KHIand whenתַגִּישׁוּtag/GI/shuyou offerפִּסֵּחַpis/SE/achthe lameוְחֹלֶהve/cho/LEand sickאֵיןenthere is noרָעraevilהַקְרִיבֵהוּhak/ri/VE/huoffer itנָאnanowלְפֶחָתֶךָle/fe/cha/TE/khato your governorהֲיִרְצְךָha/yir/tse/KHAwill he be pleased with youאוֹoorהֲיִשָּׂאha/yis/SAwill he lift upפָנֶיךָfa/NE/khayour faceאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹת׃Tse/va/OTof Hosts

   And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowחַלּוּ־נָאchal/LU-nabeseech I prayפְנֵי־אֵלfe/NE-elthe face of Godוִיחׇנֵּנוּvi/chon/NE/nuthat He may be gracious to usמִיֶּדְכֶםmiy/yed/KHEMfrom your handהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhas beenזֹּאתzotthisהֲיִשָּׂאha/yis/SAwill he lift upמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youפָּנִיםpa/NIMfacesאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹת׃Tse/va/OTof Hosts

   And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.

    מִיmiwhoגַם־בָּכֶםgam-ba/KHEMeven among youוְיִסְגֹּרve/yis/GORthat would shutדְּלָתַיִםde/la/TA/yimthe doorsוְלֹא־תָאִירוּve/LO-ta/I/ruand you kindle notמִזְבְּחִיmiz/be/CHIon my altarחִנָּםchin/NAMfor noughtאֵין־לִיen-liI have noחֵפֶץCHE/fetspleasureבָּכֶםba/KHEMin youאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsוּמִנְחָהu/min/CHAand an offeringלֹא־אֶרְצֶהlo-er/TSEI will not acceptמִיֶּדְכֶם׃miy/yed/KHEMfrom your hand

    Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

    כִּיkiforמִמִּזְרַח־שֶׁמֶשׁmim/miz/RACH-SHE/meshfrom the rising of the sunוְעַד־מְבוֹאוֹve/AD-me/vo/Oand unto its settingגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreat isשְׁמִיshe/MImy nameבַּגּוֹיִםbag/go/YIMamong the nationsוּבְכׇל־מָקוֹםu/ve/KHOL-ma/KOMand in every placeמֻקְטָרmuk/TARincense burnedמֻגָּשׁmug/GASHis offeredלִשְׁמִיlish/MIto my nameוּמִנְחָהu/min/CHAand an offeringטְהוֹרָהte/ho/RApureכִּי־גָדוֹלki-ga/DOLfor great isשְׁמִיshe/MImy nameבַּגּוֹיִםbag/go/YIMamong the nationsאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹת׃Tse/va/OTof Hosts

    For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.

12. 12

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMbut youמְחַלְּלִיםme/chal/le/LIMprofaneאוֹתוֹo/TOitבֶּאֱמׇרְכֶםbe/e/mor/KHEMin your sayingשֻׁלְחַןshul/CHANthe table ofאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordמְגֹאָלme/go/ALis pollutedהוּאhuitוְנִיבוֹve/ni/VOand its fruitנִבְזֶהniv/ZEis contemptibleאׇכְלוֹ׃okh/LOits food

    But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.

    וַאֲמַרְתֶּםva/a/mar/TEMand you sayהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdמַתְּלָאָהmat/te/la/Awhat wearinessוְהִפַּחְתֶּםve/hip/pach/TEMand you have snuffed atאוֹתוֹo/TOitאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsוַהֲבֵאתֶםva/ha/ve/TEMand you have broughtגָּזוּלga/ZULthe stolenוְאֶת־הַפִּסֵּחַve/ET-hap/pis/SE/achand the lameוְאֶת־הַחוֹלֶהve/ET-ha/cho/LEand the sickוַהֲבֵאתֶםva/ha/ve/TEMand you have broughtאֶת־הַמִּנְחָהet-ham/min/CHAthe offeringהַאֶרְצֶהha/er/TSEshould I acceptאוֹתָהּo/TAitמִיֶּדְכֶםmiy/yed/KHEMfrom your handאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.

    וְאָרוּרve/a/RURand cursed isנוֹכֵלno/KHELthe deceiverוְיֵשׁve/YESHwho hasבְּעֶדְרוֹbe/ed/ROin his flockזָכָרza/KHARa maleוְנֹדֵרve/no/DERand vowsוְזֹבֵחַve/zo/VE/achand sacrificesמׇשְׁחָתmosh/CHATa corrupt thingלַאדֹנָיla/do/NAYto the LordכִּיkiforמֶלֶךְME/lekha Kingגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatאָנִיA/niam Iאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsוּשְׁמִיu/she/MIand my nameנוֹרָאno/RAis dreadfulבַגּוֹיִם׃vag/go/YIMamong the nations

    But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
