Leviticus 25 וַיִּקְרָא פרק כ״ה

   And the LORD spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,

   דַּבֵּרdab/BERspeakאֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEto the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themכִּיkiwhenתָבֹאוּta/VO/uyou comeאֶל־הָאָרֶץel-ha/A/retsinto the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֲנִיa/NIIנֹתֵןno/TENgiveלָכֶםla/KHEMto youוְשָׁבְתָהve/sha/ve/TAthen shall keepהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landשַׁבָּתshab/BATa sabbathלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaito the LORD

   Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD.

   שֵׁשׁsheshsixשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsתִּזְרַעtiz/RAyou shall sowשָׂדֶךָsa/DE/khayour fieldוְשֵׁשׁve/SHESHand sixשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsתִּזְמֹרtiz/MORyou shall pruneכַּרְמֶךָkar/ME/khayour vineyardוְאָסַפְתָּve/a/saf/TAand gather inאֶת־תְּבוּאָתָהּ׃et-te/vu/a/TAits produce

   Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;

   וּבַשָּׁנָהu/vash/sha/NAand in the yearהַשְּׁבִיעִתhash/she/vi/ITseventhשַׁבַּתshab/BATa sabbath ofשַׁבָּתוֹןshab/ba/TONsolemn restיִהְיֶהyih/YEthere shall beלָאָרֶץla/A/retsfor the landשַׁבָּתshab/BATa sabbathלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDשָׂדְךָsa/de/KHAyour fieldלֹאlonotתִזְרָעtiz/RAyou shall sowוְכַרְמְךָve/khar/me/KHAand your vineyardלֹאlonotתִזְמֹר׃tiz/MORyou shall prune

   But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

   אֵת־סְפִיחַet-se/FI/achthe aftergrowth ofקְצִירְךָke/tsi/re/KHAyour harvestלֹאlonotתִקְצוֹרtik/TSORyou shall reapוְאֶת־עִנְּבֵיve/ET-in/ne/VEand the grapes ofנְזִירֶךָne/zi/RE/khayour undressed vineלֹאlonotתִבְצֹרtiv/TSORyou shall gatherשְׁנַתshe/NATa year ofשַׁבָּתוֹןshab/ba/TONsolemn restיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beלָאָרֶץ׃la/A/retsfor the land

   That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.

   וְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand shall beשַׁבַּתshab/BATthe sabbath ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landלָכֶםla/KHEMfor youלְאׇכְלָהle/okh/LAfoodלְךָle/KHAfor youוּלְעַבְדְּךָu/le/av/de/KHAand for your servantוְלַאֲמָתֶךָve/la/a/ma/TE/khaand for your maidוְלִשְׂכִירְךָve/lis/khi/re/KHAand for your hired servantוּלְתוֹשָׁבְךָu/le/to/sha/ve/KHAand for your sojournerהַגָּרִיםhag/ga/RIMwho sojournעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHwith you

   And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,

   וְלִבְהֶמְתְּךָve/liv/hem/te/KHAand for your cattleוְלַחַיָּהve/la/chay/YAand for the beastsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areבְּאַרְצֶךָbe/ar/TSE/khain your landתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beכׇל־תְּבוּאָתָהּkhol-te/vu/a/TAall its produceלֶאֱכֹל׃le/e/KHOLfor food

   And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.

   וְסָפַרְתָּve/sa/far/TAand you shall countלְךָle/KHAfor yourselfשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשַׁבְּתֹתshab/be/TOTsabbaths ofשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand shall beלְךָle/KHAto youיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenשַׁבְּתֹתshab/be/TOTsabbaths ofהַשָּׁנִיםhash/sha/NIMthe yearsתֵּשַׁעTE/shanineוְאַרְבָּעִיםve/ar/ba/IMand fortyשָׁנָה׃sha/NAyears

   And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.

   וְהַעֲבַרְתָּve/ha/a/var/TAthen you shall cause to soundשׁוֹפַרsho/FARa ram's horn ofתְּרוּעָהte/ru/Aa loud blastבַּחֹדֶשׁba/CHO/deshin the monthהַשְּׁבִעִיhash/she/vi/Iseventhבֶּעָשׂוֹרbe/a/SORon the tenthלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the day ofהַכִּפֻּרִיםhak/kip/pu/RIMatonementתַּעֲבִירוּta/a/VI/ruyou shall soundשׁוֹפָרsho/FARa ram's hornבְּכׇל־אַרְצְכֶם׃be/KHOL-ar/tse/KHEMin all your land

   Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

    וְקִדַּשְׁתֶּםve/kid/dash/TEMand you shall hallowאֵת־שְׁנַתet-she/NATthe year ofהַחֲמִשִּׁיםha/cha/mish/SHIMthe fiftyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוּקְרָאתֶםu/ke/ra/TEMand you shall proclaimדְּרוֹרde/RORlibertyבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landלְכׇל־יֹשְׁבֶיהָle/KHOL-yosh/VE/hato all its inhabitantsיוֹבֵלyo/VELa jubileeהִואhivit isתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall it beלָכֶםla/KHEMto youוְשַׁבְתֶּםve/shav/TEMand you shall returnאִישׁishevery manאֶל־אֲחֻזָּתוֹel-a/chuz/za/TOto his possessionוְאִישׁve/ISHand every manאֶל־מִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹel-mish/pach/TOto his familyתָּשֻׁבוּ׃ta/SHU/vuyou shall return

    And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

    יוֹבֵלyo/VELa jubileeהִואhivit isשְׁנַתshe/NATthe year ofהַחֲמִשִּׁיםha/cha/mish/SHIMthe fiftyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלֹאlonotתִזְרָעוּtiz/RA/uyou shall sowוְלֹאve/LOand notתִקְצְרוּtik/tse/RUyou shall reapאֶת־סְפִיחֶיהָet-se/fi/CHE/haits aftergrowthוְלֹאve/LOand notתִבְצְרוּtiv/tse/RUyou shall gatherאֶת־נְזִרֶיהָ׃et-ne/zi/RE/haits undressed vines

    A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.

12. 12

    כִּיkiforיוֹבֵלyo/VELa jubileeהִואhivit isקֹדֶשׁKO/deshholyתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beלָכֶםla/KHEMto youמִן־הַשָּׂדֶהmin-has/sa/DEout of the fieldתֹּאכְלוּto/khe/LUyou shall eatאֶת־תְּבוּאָתָהּ׃et-te/vu/a/TAits produce

    For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

13. 13

    בִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofהַיּוֹבֵלhay/yo/VELthe jubileeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisתָּשֻׁבוּta/SHU/vuyou shall returnאִישׁishevery manאֶל־אֲחֻזָּתוֹ׃el-a/chuz/za/TOto his possession

    In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.

14. 14

    וְכִי־תִמְכְּרוּve/KHI-tim/ke/RUand when you sellמִמְכָּרmim/KARanythingלַעֲמִיתֶךָla/a/mi/TE/khato your neighborאוֹoorקָנֹהka/NObuyמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofעֲמִיתֶךָa/mi/TE/khayour neighborאַל־תּוֹנוּal-to/NUyou shall not wrongאִישׁishoneאֶת־אָחִיו׃et-a/CHIVhis brother

    And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress one another:

15. 15

    בְּמִסְפַּרbe/mis/PARby the number ofשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsאַחַרa/CHARafterהַיּוֹבֵלhay/yo/VELthe jubileeתִּקְנֶהtik/NEyou shall buyמֵאֵתme/ETfromעֲמִיתֶךָa/mi/TE/khayour neighborבְּמִסְפַּרbe/mis/PARby the number ofשְׁנֵי־תְבוּאֹתshe/NE-te/vu/OTyears of cropsיִמְכׇּר־לָךְ׃yim/KOR-lakhhe shall sell to you

    According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:

16. 16

    לְפִיle/FIaccording toרֹבrovthe multitude ofהַשָּׁנִיםhash/sha/NIMthe yearsתַּרְבֶּהtar/BEyou shall increaseמִקְנָתוֹmik/na/TOits priceוּלְפִיu/le/FIand according toמְעֹטme/OTthe fewness ofהַשָּׁנִיםhash/sha/NIMthe yearsתַּמְעִיטtam/ITyou shall diminishמִקְנָתוֹmik/na/TOits priceכִּיkiforמִסְפַּרmis/PARthe number ofתְּבוּאֹתte/vu/OTcropsהוּאhuheמֹכֵרmo/KHERsellsלָךְ׃lakhto you

    According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits doth he sell unto thee.

17. 17

    וְלֹאve/LOand notתוֹנוּto/NUyou shall wrongאִישׁishoneאֶת־עֲמִיתוֹet-a/mi/TOhis neighborוְיָרֵאתָve/ya/RE/tabut you shall fearמֵאֱלֹהֶיךָme/e/lo/HE/khayour Godכִּיkiforאֲנִיa/NII amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃e/lo/he/KHEMyour God

    Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God.

18. 18

    וַעֲשִׂיתֶםva/a/si/TEMso you shall doאֶת־חֻקֹּתַיet-chuk/ko/TAYmy statutesוְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַיve/ET-mish/pa/TAYand my judgmentsתִּשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou shall keepוַעֲשִׂיתֶםva/a/si/TEMand doאֹתָםo/TAMthemוִישַׁבְתֶּםvi/shav/TEMand you shall dwellעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsin the landלָבֶטַח׃la/VE/tachin safety

    Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.

19. 19

    וְנָתְנָהve/na/te/NAand shall yieldהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landפִּרְיָהּpir/YAits fruitוַאֲכַלְתֶּםva/a/khal/TEMand you shall eatלָשֹׂבַעla/SO/vayour fillוִישַׁבְתֶּםvi/shav/TEMand you shall dwellלָבֶטַחla/VE/tachin safetyעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/hain it

    And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

20. 20

    וְכִיve/KHIand ifתֹאמְרוּto/me/RUyou shall sayמַה־נֹּאכַלma-no/KHALwhat shall we eatבַּשָּׁנָהbash/sha/NAin the yearהַשְּׁבִיעִתhash/she/vi/ITthe seventhהֵןhenbeholdלֹאlonotנִזְרָעniz/RAwe shall sowוְלֹאve/LOand notנֶאֱסֹףne/e/SOFwe shall gatherאֶת־תְּבוּאָתֵנוּ׃et-te/vu/a/TE/nuour produce

    And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:

21. 21

    וְצִוִּיתִיve/tsiv/VI/tithen I will commandאֶת־בִּרְכָתִיet-bir/kha/TImy blessingלָכֶםla/KHEMupon youבַּשָּׁנָהbash/sha/NAin the yearהַשִּׁשִּׁיתhash/shish/SHITsixthוְעָשָׂתve/a/SATand it shall bring forthאֶת־הַתְּבוּאָהet-hat/te/vu/Athe produceלִשְׁלֹשׁlish/LOSHfor threeהַשָּׁנִים׃hash/sha/NIMyears

    Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.

22. 22

    וּזְרַעְתֶּםu/ze/ra/TEMand you shall sowאֵת־הַשָּׁנָהet-hash/sha/NAthe yearהַשְּׁמִינִתhash/she/mi/NITeighthוַאֲכַלְתֶּםva/a/khal/TEMand you shall eatמִן־הַתְּבוּאָהmin-hat/te/vu/Aof the produceיָשָׁןya/SHANoldעַדaduntilהַשָּׁנָהhash/sha/NAthe yearהַתְּשִׁיעִתhat/te/shi/ITninthעַד־בּוֹאad-bountil comes inתְּבוּאָתָהּte/vu/a/TAits produceתֹּאכְלוּto/khe/LUyou shall eatיָשָׁן׃ya/SHANof the old

    And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.

23. 23

    וְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsand the landלֹאlonotתִמָּכֵרtim/ma/KHERshall be soldלִצְמִתֻתlits/mi/TUTin perpetuityכִּי־לִיki-lifor mineהָאָרֶץha/A/retsis the landכִּי־גֵרִיםki-ge/RIMfor strangersוְתוֹשָׁבִיםve/to/sha/VIMand sojournersאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areעִמָּדִי׃im/ma/DIwith me

    The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.

24. 24

    וּבְכֹלu/ve/KHOLand in allאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofאֲחֻזַּתְכֶםa/chuz/zat/KHEMyour possessionגְּאֻלָּהge/ul/LAa redemptionתִּתְּנוּtit/te/NUyou shall giveלָאָרֶץ׃la/A/retsfor the land

    And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

25. 25

    כִּי־יָמוּךְki-ya/MUKHif becomes poorאָחִיךָa/CHI/khayour brotherוּמָכַרu/ma/KHARand sellsמֵאֲחֻזָּתוֹme/a/chuz/za/TOsome of his possessionוּבָאu/VAthen shall comeגֹאֲלוֹgo/a/LOhis kinsman redeemerהַקָּרֹבhak/ka/ROVwho is nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוְגָאַלve/ga/ALand shall redeemאֵת־מִמְכַּרet-mim/KARthat which soldאָחִיו׃a/CHIVhis brother

    If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.

26. 26

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand a manכִּיkiifלֹאlonotיִהְיֶה־לּוֹyih/YE-lohe hasגֹּאֵלgo/ELa redeemerוְהִשִּׂיגָהve/his/SI/gaand has attainedיָדוֹya/DOhis handוּמָצָאu/ma/TSAand findsכְּדֵיke/DEenough forגְאֻלָּתוֹ׃ge/ul/la/TOits redemption

    And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it;

27. 27

    וְחִשַּׁבve/chish/SHAVthen let him countאֶת־שְׁנֵיet-she/NEthe years ofמִמְכָּרוֹmim/ka/ROits saleוְהֵשִׁיבve/he/SHIVand restoreאֶת־הָעֹדֵףet-ha/o/DEFthe surplusלָאִישׁla/ISHto the manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whomמָכַר־לוֹma/KHAR-lohe sold itוְשָׁבve/SHAVthat he may returnלַאֲחֻזָּתוֹ׃la/a/chuz/za/TOto his possession

    Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.

28. 28

    וְאִםve/IMand ifלֹא־מָצְאָהlo-ma/tse/Ahas not foundיָדוֹya/DOhis handדֵּיdeenoughהָשִׁיבha/SHIVto restoreלוֹloto himוְהָיָהve/ha/YAthen shall remainמִמְכָּרוֹmim/ka/ROthat which is soldבְּיַדbe/YADin the hand ofהַקֹּנֶהhak/ko/NEhim who boughtאֹתוֹo/TOitעַדaduntilשְׁנַתshe/NATthe year ofהַיּוֹבֵלhay/yo/VELthe jubileeוְיָצָאve/ya/TSAand it shall go outבַּיֹּבֵלbay/yo/VELin the jubileeוְשָׁבve/SHAVand he shall returnלַאֲחֻזָּתוֹ׃la/a/chuz/za/TOto his possession

    But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.

29. 29

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand a manכִּי־יִמְכֹּרki-yim/KORif sellsבֵּית־מוֹשַׁבbet-mo/SHAVa dwelling house inעִירira city ofחוֹמָהcho/MAa wallוְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAthen shall beגְּאֻלָּתוֹge/ul/la/TOhis redemptionעַד־תֹּםad-tomwithin the end ofשְׁנַתshe/NATa year ofמִמְכָּרוֹmim/ka/ROits saleיָמִיםya/MIMdaysתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beגְאֻלָּתוֹ׃ge/ul/la/TOits redemption

    And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it.

30. 30

    וְאִםve/IMand ifלֹא־יִגָּאֵלlo-yig/ga/ELit is not redeemedעַד־מְלֹאתad-me/LOTuntil are fulfilledלוֹlofor itשָׁנָהsha/NAa yearתְמִימָהte/mi/MAfullוְקָםve/KAMthen shall be establishedהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseאֲשֶׁר־בָּעִירa/SHER-ba/IRthat is in the cityאֲשֶׁר־[לוֹ]a/SHER-lothat has(לא)lחֹמָהcho/MAa wallלַצְּמִיתֻתlats/tse/mi/TUTin perpetuityלַקֹּנֶהlak/ko/NEto him who boughtאֹתוֹo/TOitלְדֹרֹתָיוle/do/ro/TAYVthroughout his generationsלֹאlonotיֵצֵאye/TSEit shall go outבַּיֹּבֵל׃bay/yo/VELin the jubilee

    And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.

31. 31

    וּבָתֵּיu/vat/TEbut the houses ofהַחֲצֵרִיםha/cha/tse/RIMthe villagesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֵין־לָהֶםen-la/HEMhave noחֹמָהcho/MAa wallסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutעַל־שְׂדֵהal-se/DEas the fields ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe countryיֵחָשֵׁבye/cha/SHEVshall be countedגְּאֻלָּהge/ul/LAredemptionתִּהְיֶה־לּוֹtih/YE-loit shall haveוּבַיֹּבֵלu/vay/yo/VELand in the jubileeיֵצֵא׃ye/TSEit shall go out

    But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.

32. 32

    וְעָרֵיve/a/REand the cities ofהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesבָּתֵּיbat/TEthe houses ofעָרֵיa/REthe cities ofאֲחֻזָּתָםa/chuz/za/TAMtheir possessionגְּאֻלַּתge/ul/LATthe redemption ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeverlastingתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beלַלְוִיִּם׃Lal/viy/YIMto the Levites

    Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.

33. 33

    וַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand ifיִגְאַלyig/ALredeemsמִן־הַלְוִיִּםmin-Hal/viy/YIMof the Levitesוְיָצָאve/ya/TSAthen shall go outמִמְכַּר־בַּיִתmim/KAR-BA/yitthe house that was soldוְעִירve/IRand the city ofאֲחֻזָּתוֹa/chuz/za/TOhis possessionבַּיֹּבֵלbay/yo/VELin the jubileeכִּיkiforבָתֵּיvat/TEthe houses ofעָרֵיa/REthe cities ofהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesהִואhivareאֲחֻזָּתָםa/chuz/za/TAMtheir possessionבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.

34. 34

    וּשְׂדֵהu/se/DEbut the field ofמִגְרַשׁmig/RASHthe pasture land ofעָרֵיהֶםa/re/HEMtheir citiesלֹאlonotיִמָּכֵרyim/ma/KHERmay be soldכִּי־אֲחֻזַּתki-a/chuz/ZATfor a possession ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeverlastingהוּאhuit isלָהֶם׃la/HEMtheirs

    But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

35. 35

    וְכִי־יָמוּךְve/KHI-ya/MUKHand if becomes poorאָחִיךָa/CHI/khayour brotherוּמָטָהu/MA/taand failsיָדוֹya/DOhis handעִמָּךְim/MAKHwith youוְהֶחֱזַקְתָּve/he/che/ZAK/tathen you shall upholdבּוֹbohimגֵּרgeras a strangerוְתוֹשָׁבve/to/SHAVand a sojournerוָחַיva/CHAYthat he may liveעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHwith you

    And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.

36. 36

    אַל־תִּקַּחal-tik/KACHdo not takeמֵאִתּוֹme/it/TOof himנֶשֶׁךְNE/shekhinterestוְתַרְבִּיתve/tar/BITor increaseוְיָרֵאתָve/ya/RE/tabut you shall fearמֵאֱלֹהֶיךָme/e/lo/HE/khayour Godוְחֵיve/CHEthat may liveאָחִיךָa/CHI/khayour brotherעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHwith you

    Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

37. 37

    אֶת־כַּסְפְּךָet-kas/pe/KHAyour moneyלֹא־תִתֵּןlo-tit/TENyou shall not giveלוֹloto himבְּנֶשֶׁךְbe/NE/shekhat interestוּבְמַרְבִּיתu/ve/mar/BITor for increaseלֹא־תִתֵּןlo-tit/TENnor giveאׇכְלֶךָ׃okh/le/KHAyour food

    Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.

38. 38

    אֲנִיa/NII amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godאֲשֶׁר־הוֹצֵאתִיa/SHER-ho/TSE/tiwhom I brought outאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsout of the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלָתֵתla/TETto giveלָכֶםla/KHEMyourאֶת־אֶרֶץet-E/retsthe land ofכְּנַעַןKe/NA/anCanaanלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beלָכֶםla/KHEMyourלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMGod

    I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

39. 39

    וְכִי־יָמוּךְve/KHI-ya/MUKHand if becomes poorאָחִיךָa/CHI/khayour brotherעִמָּךְim/MAKHbeside youוְנִמְכַּר־לָךְve/nim/KAR-lakhand sells himself to youלֹא־תַעֲבֹדlo-ta/a/VODyou shall not make serveבּוֹbohimעֲבֹדַתa/vo/DATthe service ofעָבֶד׃A/veda slave

    And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:

40. 40

    כְּשָׂכִירke/sa/KHIRas a hired servantכְּתוֹשָׁבke/to/SHAVas a sojournerיִהְיֶהyih/YEhe shall beעִמָּךְim/MAKHwith youעַד־שְׁנַתad-she/NATuntil the year ofהַיֹּבֵלhay/yo/VELthe jubileeיַעֲבֹדya/a/VODhe shall serveעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHwith you

    But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:

41. 41

    וְיָצָאve/ya/TSAand then he shall go outמֵעִמָּךְme/im/MAKHfrom youהוּאhuheוּבָנָיוu/va/NAYVand his sonsעִמּוֹim/MOwith himוְשָׁבve/SHAVand shall returnאֶל־מִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹel-mish/pach/TOto his familyוְאֶל־אֲחֻזַּתve/EL-a/chuz/ZATand to the possession ofאֲבֹתָיוa/vo/TAYVhis fathersיָשׁוּב׃ya/SHUVhe shall return

    And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

42. 42

    כִּי־עֲבָדַיki-a/va/DAYfor my servantsהֵםhemthey areאֲשֶׁר־הוֹצֵאתִיa/SHER-ho/TSE/tiwhom I brought outאֹתָםo/TAMthemמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsout of the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלֹאlonotיִמָּכְרוּyim/ma/khe/RUshall they be soldמִמְכֶּרֶתmim/KE/retas is soldעָבֶד׃A/veda slave

    For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.

43. 43

    לֹא־תִרְדֶּהlo-tir/DEyou shall not ruleבוֹvoover himבְּפָרֶךְbe/FA/rekhwith rigorוְיָרֵאתָve/ya/RE/tabut you shall fearמֵאֱלֹהֶיךָ׃me/e/lo/HE/khayour God

    Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.

44. 44

    וְעַבְדְּךָve/av/de/KHAand your male slaveוַאֲמָתְךָva/a/ma/te/KHAand your female slaveאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomיִהְיוּ־לָךְyih/YU-lakhyou shall haveמֵאֵתme/ETfromהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areסְבִיבֹתֵיכֶםse/vi/vo/te/KHEMround about youמֵהֶםme/HEMof themתִּקְנוּtik/NUyou shall buyעֶבֶדE/vedmale slavesוְאָמָה׃ve/a/MAand female slaves

    Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

45. 45

    וְגַםve/GAMmoreoverמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEof the children ofהַתּוֹשָׁבִיםhat/to/sha/VIMthe sojournersהַגָּרִיםhag/ga/RIMwho sojournעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youמֵהֶםme/HEMof themתִּקְנוּtik/NUyou shall buyוּמִמִּשְׁפַּחְתָּםu/mim/mish/pach/TAMand of their familiesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהוֹלִידוּho/LI/duthey have begottenבְּאַרְצְכֶםbe/ar/tse/KHEMin your landוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand they shall beלָכֶםla/KHEMyourלַאֲחֻזָּה׃la/a/chuz/ZApossession

    Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.

46. 46

    וְהִתְנַחַלְתֶּםve/hit/na/chal/TEMand you shall take as an inheritanceאֹתָםo/TAMthemלִבְנֵיכֶםliv/ne/KHEMfor your childrenאַחֲרֵיכֶםa/cha/re/KHEMafter youלָרֶשֶׁתla/RE/shetto inheritאֲחֻזָּהa/chuz/ZAas a possessionלְעֹלָםle/o/LAMfor everבָּהֶםba/HEMthemתַּעֲבֹדוּta/a/VO/duyou may make serveוּבְאַחֵיכֶםu/ve/a/che/KHEMbut over your brethrenבְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלbe/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelאִישׁishoneבְּאָחִיוbe/a/CHIVover anotherלֹא־תִרְדֶּהlo-tir/DEyou shall not ruleבוֹvoover himבְּפָרֶךְ׃be/FA/rekhwith rigor

    And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.

47. 47

    וְכִיve/KHIand ifתַשִּׂיגtas/SIGattainsיַדyadthe hand ofגֵּרgera strangerוְתוֹשָׁבve/to/SHAVor sojournerעִמָּךְim/MAKHwith youוּמָךְu/MAKHand becomes poorאָחִיךָa/CHI/khayour brotherעִמּוֹim/MObeside himוְנִמְכַּרve/nim/KARand sells himselfלְגֵרle/GERto the strangerתּוֹשָׁבto/SHAVsojournerעִמָּךְim/MAKHwith youאוֹoorלְעֵקֶרle/E/kerto the stock ofמִשְׁפַּחַתmish/PA/chatthe family ofגֵּר׃gerthe stranger

    And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger's family:

48. 48

    אַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterנִמְכַּרnim/KARhe is soldגְּאֻלָּהge/ul/LAredemptionתִּהְיֶה־לּוֹtih/YE-lohe may haveאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵאֶחָיוme/e/CHAYVof his brethrenיִגְאָלֶנּוּ׃yig/a/LEN/numay redeem him

    After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:

49. 49

    אוֹ־דֹדוֹo-do/DOeither his uncleאוֹoorבֶן־דֹּדוֹven-do/DOhis uncle's sonיִגְאָלֶנּוּyig/a/LEN/numay redeem himאוֹ־מִשְּׁאֵרo-mish/she/ERor any of the near kin ofבְּשָׂרוֹbe/sa/ROhis fleshמִמִּשְׁפַּחְתּוֹmim/mish/pach/TOof his familyיִגְאָלֶנּוּyig/a/LEN/numay redeem himאוֹ־הִשִּׂיגָהo-his/SI/gaor if attainsיָדוֹya/DOhis handוְנִגְאָל׃ve/nig/ALhe may redeem himself

    Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.

50. 50

    וְחִשַּׁבve/chish/SHAVand he shall reckonעִם־קֹנֵהוּim-ko/NE/huwith him who bought himמִשְּׁנַתmish/she/NATfrom the year ofהִמָּכְרוֹhim/MAKH/rohe was soldלוֹloto himעַדaduntilשְׁנַתshe/NATthe year ofהַיֹּבֵלhay/yo/VELthe jubileeוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand shall beכֶּסֶףKE/sefthe price ofמִמְכָּרוֹmim/ka/ROhis saleבְּמִסְפַּרbe/mis/PARin the number ofשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsכִּימֵיki/MEas the days ofשָׂכִירsa/KHIRa hired servantיִהְיֶהyih/YEit shall beעִמּוֹ׃im/MOwith him

    And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him.

51. 51

    אִם־עוֹדim-odif stillרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyבַּשָּׁנִיםbash/sha/NIMyearsלְפִיהֶןle/fi/HENaccording to themיָשִׁיבya/SHIVhe shall give backגְּאֻלָּתוֹge/ul/la/TOthe price of his redemptionמִכֶּסֶףmik/KE/sefout of the money ofמִקְנָתוֹ׃mik/na/TOhis purchase

    If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

52. 52

    וְאִם־מְעַטve/IM-me/ATand if fewנִשְׁאַרnish/ARremainבַּשָּׁנִיםbash/sha/NIMof the yearsעַד־שְׁנַתad-she/NATuntil the year ofהַיֹּבֵלhay/yo/VELthe jubileeוְחִשַּׁב־לוֹve/chish/SHAV-lothen he shall reckon with himכְּפִיke/FIaccording toשָׁנָיוsha/NAYVhis yearsיָשִׁיבya/SHIVhe shall give backאֶת־גְּאֻלָּתוֹ׃et-ge/ul/la/TOhis redemption

    And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption.

53. 53

    כִּשְׂכִירkis/KHIRas a hired servantשָׁנָהsha/NAyearבְּשָׁנָהbe/sha/NAby yearיִהְיֶהyih/YEhe shall beעִמּוֹim/MOwith himלֹא־יִרְדֶּנּוּlo-yir/DEN/nuhe shall not rule over himבְּפֶרֶךְbe/FE/rekhwith rigorלְעֵינֶיךָ׃le/e/NE/khain your sight

    And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.

54. 54

    וְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notיִגָּאֵלyig/ga/ELhe is redeemedבְּאֵלֶּהbe/EL/leby these meansוְיָצָאve/ya/TSAthen he shall go outבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the year ofהַיֹּבֵלhay/yo/VELthe jubileeהוּאhuheוּבָנָיוu/va/NAYVand his sonsעִמּוֹ׃im/MOwith him

    And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.

55. 55

    כִּי־לִיki-lifor to meבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMare servantsעֲבָדַיa/va/DAYmy servantsהםhamthey areאֲשֶׁר־הוֹצֵאתִיa/SHER-ho/TSE/tiwhom I brought outאוֹתָםo/TAMthemמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsout of the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptאֲנִיa/NII amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃e/lo/he/KHEMyour God

    For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
