Leviticus 17 וַיִּקְרָא פרק י״ז

   וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהel-Mo/SHEto Mosesלֵּאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2. 2

   דַּבֵּרdab/BERspeakאֶל־אַהֲרֹןel-A/ha/RONto Aaronוְאֶל־בָּנָיוve/EL-ba/NAYVand his sonsוְאֶלve/ELand toכׇּל־בְּנֵיkol-be/NEall the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themזֶהzethisהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingאֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהa/SHER-tsiv/VAwhich has commandedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, saying,

   אִישׁishanyאִישׁishmanמִבֵּיתmib/BETof the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִשְׁחַטyish/CHATslaughtersשׁוֹרshoran oxאוֹ־כֶשֶׂבo-KHE/sevor a lambאוֹ־עֵזo-ezor a goatבַּמַּחֲנֶהbam/ma/cha/NEin the campאוֹoorאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִשְׁחַטyish/CHATslaughtersמִחוּץmi/CHUTSoutsideלַמַּחֲנֶה׃lam/ma/cha/NEthe camp

   What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,

   וְאֶל־פֶּתַחve/EL-PE/tachand to the door ofאֹהֶלO/helthe tent ofמוֹעֵדmo/EDmeetingלֹאlonotהֱבִיאוֹhe/vi/Ohas brought itלְהַקְרִיבle/hak/RIVto offerקׇרְבָּןkor/BANan offeringלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeמִשְׁכַּןmish/KANthe tabernacle ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDדָּםdambloodיֵחָשֵׁבye/cha/SHEVshall be imputedלָאִישׁla/ISHto the manהַהוּאha/HUthatדָּםdambloodשָׁפָךְsha/FAKHhe has shedוְנִכְרַתve/nikh/RATand shall be cut offהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manהַהוּאha/HUthatמִקֶּרֶבmik/KE/revfrom amongעַמּוֹ׃am/MOhis people

   And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:

   לְמַעַןle/MA/anto the endאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיָבִיאוּya/VI/umay bringבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֶת־זִבְחֵיהֶםet-ziv/che/HEMtheir sacrificesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵםhemtheyזֹבְחִיםzov/CHIMsacrificeעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEin the openהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEfieldוֶהֱבִיאֻםve/he/vi/UMthat they may bring themלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDאֶל־פֶּתַחel-PE/tachto the door ofאֹהֶלO/helthe tent ofמוֹעֵדmo/EDmeetingאֶל־הַכֹּהֵןel-hak/ko/HENto the priestוְזָבְחוּve/za/ve/CHUand sacrificeזִבְחֵיziv/CHEas sacrifices ofשְׁלָמִיםshe/la/MIMpeace offeringsלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

   To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD.

6. 6

   וְזָרַקve/za/RAKand shall sprinkleהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestאֶת־הַדָּםet-had/DAMthe bloodעַל־מִזְבַּחal-miz/BACHupon the altar ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDפֶּתַחPE/tachat the door ofאֹהֶלO/helthe tent ofמוֹעֵדmo/EDmeetingוְהִקְטִירve/hik/TIRand shall burnהַחֵלֶבha/CHE/levthe fatלְרֵיחַle/RE/achfor an aroma ofנִיחֹחַni/CHO/achsoothingלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaito the LORD

   And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD.

7. 7

   וְלֹא־יִזְבְּחוּve/LO-yiz/be/CHUand they shall not sacrificeעוֹדodany moreאֶת־זִבְחֵיהֶםet-ziv/che/HEMtheir sacrificesלַשְּׂעִירִםlas/se/i/RIMto the goat demonsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵםhemtheyזֹנִיםzo/NIMgo whoringאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themחֻקַּתchuk/KATa statuteעוֹלָםo/LAMfor everתִּהְיֶה־זֹּאתtih/YE-zotthis shall beלָהֶםla/HEMfor themלְדֹרֹתָם׃le/do/ro/TAMfor their generations

   And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.

8. 8

   וַאֲלֵהֶםva/a/le/HEMand to themתֹּאמַרto/MARyou shall sayאִישׁishanyאִישׁishmanמִבֵּיתmib/BETof the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוּמִן־הַגֵּרu/MIN-hag/GERor of the strangersאֲשֶׁר־יָגוּרa/SHER-ya/GURwho sojournבְּתוֹכָםbe/to/KHAMamong themאֲשֶׁר־יַעֲלֶהa/SHER-ya/a/LEwho offersעֹלָהo/LAa burnt offeringאוֹ־זָבַח׃o-ZA/vachor sacrifice

   And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice,

   וְאֶל־פֶּתַחve/EL-PE/tachand to the door ofאֹהֶלO/helthe tent ofמוֹעֵדmo/EDmeetingלֹאlonotיְבִיאֶנּוּye/vi/EN/nubrings itלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto offerאֹתוֹo/TOitלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDוְנִכְרַתve/nikh/RATand shall be cut offהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manהַהוּאha/HUthatמֵעַמָּיו׃me/am/MAYVfrom his people

   And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the LORD; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.

10. 10

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand anyאִישׁishmanמִבֵּיתmib/BETof the house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוּמִן־הַגֵּרu/MIN-hag/GERor of the strangersהַגָּרhag/GARwho sojournבְּתוֹכָםbe/to/KHAMamong themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיֹאכַלyo/KHALeatsכׇּל־דָּםkol-damany bloodוְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand I will setפָנַיfa/NAYmy faceבַּנֶּפֶשׁban/NE/feshagainst the soulהָאֹכֶלֶתha/o/KHE/letthat eatsאֶת־הַדָּםet-had/DAMthe bloodוְהִכְרַתִּיve/hikh/rat/TIand I will cut offאֹתָהּo/TAitמִקֶּרֶבmik/KE/revfrom amongעַמָּהּ׃am/MAits people

    And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

11. 11

    כִּיkiforנֶפֶשׁNE/feshthe life ofהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshבַּדָּםbad/DAMin the bloodהִואhivit isוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iנְתַתִּיוne/tat/TIVI have given itלָכֶםla/KHEMto youעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַal-ham/miz/BE/achupon the altarלְכַפֵּרle/khap/PERto make atonementעַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםal-naf/sho/te/KHEMfor your soulsכִּי־הַדָּםki-had/DAMfor the bloodהוּאhuit isבַּנֶּפֶשׁban/NE/feshby the lifeיְכַפֵּר׃ye/khap/PERthat makes atonement

    For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

12. 12

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכׇּל־נֶפֶשׁkol-NE/feshevery soulמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youלֹא־תֹאכַלlo-to/KHALshall not eatדָּםdambloodוְהַגֵּרve/hag/GERand the strangerהַגָּרhag/GARwho sojournsבְּתוֹכְכֶםbe/tokh/KHEMamong youלֹא־יֹאכַלlo-YO/khalshall not eatדָּם׃damblood

    Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

13. 13

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand anyאִישׁishmanמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEof the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוּמִן־הַגֵּרu/MIN-hag/GERor of the strangersהַגָּרhag/GARwho sojournבְּתוֹכָםbe/to/KHAMamong themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיָצוּדya/TSUDhuntsצֵידtsedgame ofחַיָּהchay/YAa beastאוֹ־עוֹףo-ofor birdאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיֵאָכֵלye/a/KHELmay be eatenוְשָׁפַךְve/sha/FAKHthen he shall pour outאֶת־דָּמוֹet-da/MOits bloodוְכִסָּהוּve/khis/SA/huand cover itבֶּעָפָר׃be/a/FARwith dust

    And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

14. 14

    כִּי־נֶפֶשׁki-NE/feshfor the life ofכׇּל־בָּשָׂרkol-ba/SARall fleshדָּמוֹda/MOits bloodבְנַפְשׁוֹve/naf/SHOwith its lifeהוּאhuit isוָאֹמַרva/o/MARtherefore I saidלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelדַּםdamthe blood ofכׇּל־בָּשָׂרkol-ba/SARall fleshלֹאlonotתֹאכֵלוּto/KHE/luyou shall eatכִּיkiforנֶפֶשׁNE/feshthe life ofכׇּל־בָּשָׂרkol-ba/SARall fleshדָּמוֹda/MOits bloodהִואhivisכׇּל־אֹכְלָיוkol-okh/LAYVwhoever eats itיִכָּרֵת׃yik/ka/RETshall be cut off

    For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

15. 15

    וְכׇל־נֶפֶשׁve/KHOL-NE/feshand every soulאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתֹּאכַלto/KHALeatsנְבֵלָהne/ve/LAwhat dies of itselfוּטְרֵפָהu/te/re/FAor what is tornבָּאֶזְרָחba/ez/RACHwhether a nativeוּבַגֵּרu/vag/GERor a strangerוְכִבֶּסve/khib/BESshall washבְּגָדָיוbe/ga/DAYVhis garmentsוְרָחַץve/ra/CHATSand batheבַּמַּיִםbam/MA/yimin waterוְטָמֵאve/ta/MEand be uncleanעַד־הָעֶרֶבad-ha/E/revuntil the eveningוְטָהֵר׃ve/ta/HERthen he shall be clean

    And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.

16. 16

    וְאִםve/IMand ifלֹאlonotיְכַבֵּסye/khab/BEShe washוּבְשָׂרוֹu/ve/sa/ROor his fleshלֹאlonotיִרְחָץyir/CHATSbatheוְנָשָׂאve/na/SAthen he shall bearעֲוֺנוֹ׃a/vo/NOhis iniquity

    But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity.
